  1. Oh, I get it. If you're the backup of a good QB (albeit one that makes horrible decisions on a consistant basis) then that makes YOU a good QB automatically.
  2. According to gamecenter the sack that Tripplett had came as a result of pressure that Schobel put on the QB.
  3. I'm worried about it because it keeps this QB competition going for another week and keeps the door open for Holcomb.
  4. You assume JP will be starting. A 3 turnover half isn't a good way of cementing the starting job. I like that he's throwing the long ball well but this isn't the performance I was hoping for. This QB competition is going to go on for at least another week.
  5. Having a rookie at SS and an old Vincet at FS (who struggled mightily last year) doesn't equate to the "stregnth of the D" imo. As long as Spikes can get back to 90% of his production pre-injury the strength of the D is the LB corps.
  6. You're assuming that the Bills only carry 5 WRs. I'm guessing they carry 6 and all of the above make the team along with Evans and Price. I'd also guess that Nash will be on the PS.
  7. - I think they'll keep fewer OL than you have listed, there's a reason they want guys to be able to play multple positions. My guess is they'll cut Gibson and Pennington (who will go to the PS), while keeping Morgon. - They'll keep at least 5DTs. With the rotation they want to have they'll need more as insurance against injury, though I'm not sure who they'll keep, perhaps Sape. - They'll cut Wire and keep Baker. Wire is solid on ST but the Bills are loaded with solid ST players, there's no need to carry a guy when that's his primary function on the team. Also Whittner and Bowen have the SS spot pretty well covered and there's little chance Wire would end up playing at all. However on the other side is Vincent goes down (he is 37) I think they'd like to have a vet back there as a (pun coming) safety valve. - I don't think Burns is going to make the squad over Shelton. - Holcomb won't be cut - I'm not sure they'll carry 5 OLB, Ellison might be on the practice squad instead of the active roster (granted if they only carry 4 OLB that might leave room on the team for another S which would mean Wire gets to stay).
  8. As much as I hate to admit it I really like Sterling Sharp as a color man. He's the only guy I know of that isn't afraid to actually break down what is happening on the field, even if it goes over the viewer's head. I don't care for his delivery much and he's a little rougharound the edges, but in terms of pure info given I don't think there's anybody better.
  9. Wouldn't being impartial come across as negative since the Bills have sucked for the past 5-6 years?
  10. Of course DT isn't a position on most teams that is going to get a lot of tackles. Judging how effective a DT is (in most systems) by how many tackles he has is like judging how great a LB is by his "hits" stat.
  11. Many fans don't want to give a young QB more than 8 starts to grow into the position in the NFL, do you think they're goingto give a TE even 1 game? Hell no, he's obviously a bust.
  12. This DL is going to substitute all the time. I really doesn't matter who the actual starter is.
  13. If the OL gave RJ LOADS of time to throw the ball he was a great QB (then again there aren’t many QBs that are bad when given time to throw). He was accurate as hell and had a cannon for an arm...just don't ask him to make a quick decision (or even a semi-quick decision). If there was any pressure at all he fell apart. Unfortunately for RJ, in the NFL you're never going to get loads of time on a consistent basis. I'd imagine the box score above came from one of the few games where he had lots and lots of time.
  14. I watched about a quarter and a half before I had to shut it off. With the exception of Tirico I don't see how anybody can stand listening to this crew. Then again there aren't many announcing teams in which I like both (or all) of the guys in the both.
  15. He doesn't play the same position as McCargo, if he started it would be over Anderson. That being said I'm not sure it really matters who will get the start as it looks like they're going to substitute liberally to keep the DL fresh.
  16. Except he stole my joke! The Original
  17. I'll stick with my prediction: 5-11
  18. Not this tired old line again. Just because a certain coach makes a decision (and he definitely knows more than me about football) doesn't mean another coach wouldn't agree with my point of view, unless of course you think every coach in the NFL and college football agrees with the decision Jauron made? I guess you should go ahead and stop posting on the board as we already know your every opinion...it will always be the same as whoever the current coach of the Bills is.
  19. Unfortunately this isn't fantasy football and teams actually have to have a defense and an OL. Arizona will never be anything more than an average team at best until Dennis Green realizes this.
  20. I'm not sure I get your point. The point of my post was to say I disagree with Jauron and your response is that Jauron disagrees with me?
  21. Nobody called him a "bust" (how can you, he's hardly played), though I did say I thought he would end up being a bust. There's a big difference between the two statements. Yeah, I saw the kid play in college a few times and despite one nice showing in the pre-season I don't think his game will translate to the pros. Time will tell. My applogies if that annoys you. Do you think every QB drafted in the 1st round (of any given draft) will pan out? If not should it annoy me (or others) that you don't think a given QB will "make it" in the pros? Does it annoy you that I think Vince Young will be the bust of this draft? I guess I've never seen him play if I think that....
  22. Two totally different situations. With Marv and the team of the late 80's/ early 90's you had a veteran team that didn't need to learn how to win. This Bills team is young and every bit of confidence you can get them is important. These games aren't going to make or break their season but this team has to learn to win sometime, now is as good of time as any. The whole "pre-season" is meaningless crowd goes a bit overboard. These games don't count in the win/loss columns but they do have plenty of meaning to them.
  23. Apparently some people think that other QBs always hit open receivers and that their 60-65% completion percentage is achieved because the opposing teams DBs have lots of breakups with skin-tight coverage..
  24. While I agree with your points this might not be the best way of making it. Every year those people that panick after the first pre-season game are eventually proven right when the Bills end up sucking.
  25. There's an option "c": hold off on forming an opinion until you watch the team play.
