Put me in the McGee camp...now if only I could find an authentic jersey on Ebay to replace my Moulds one.

I'm sick of the prattle, somebody tell me how!
MDH replied to Dibs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Grab Bunkley, DT at 8 (or better yet move down a few spots and grab him). Use a 4th to move up 5-6 spots in the second and grab Lutui, OG (I'm assuming Marv and Co. didn't like Justice's character issues). Use the first 3rd rounder we had to grab Chris Goncong, DE and use the second 3rd rounder we held onto by not moving back into the first round and grab either Anthony Schlegel, ILB or Rahsad Butler, OT (or Youboty if they really wanted...but I think we're pretty deep at CB particularly if we can re-sign Clements). -
I can't believe this thread has lasted this long without someone pulling out the D-word.
-
I'm not sure it really matters. Whoever starts this game likely won't start the next one. I'm guessing Jauron gives each one start and then names a starter after the second pre-season game. At least I hope that's as long as he lets the competition drag on.

The Bills are throwing a lot of the cap space they are using to a guy that hasn't played a down yet is the second highest paid at his position...and his position is one that is generally pretty easy to fill with mid-round draft picks. Whitner might well be a good player (the things I’ve heard about him all sound good) but it’s almost to the point that he’s not worth the pick/money even if he turns out to be a Pro-Bowl type player. He’d have to be a dominating force, a Troy Polamalu, to justify the investment. That’s a pretty risky move Imo. This is pretty much what Bado has been trying to tell people but people seem more concerned with telling others they’re an idiot than they are with listening to an opposing point of view. And to your point about the cap space; shouldn't the fans care that the Bills are under the cap by a good amount? It doesn't appear the Bills are doing their absolute best to put a winning product on the field. The salary cap only levels the playing field if your team uses all the space available and the Bills aren't doing that. If they end up using that space to frontload some contract extentions (or re-sign Clements) then I’ll think it’s justified, but if they just stand pat I’ll be scratching my head wondering why they’re not using the space available.

Who is the worst Bills QB of all-time?
MDH replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a crock of sh--. RJ had more heart than just about any QB on that list. He'd stand in the pocket forever and take huge shots trying to make a play. Then he'd scrape himself up off the turf and do it all over again. I'll agree on the head part, if the guy had any kind of head for football he would have been a good QB, but saying the guy had no heart is just flat out wrong. -
Didn't you say, just two weeks ago, that you thought PFW wasn't making a very educated guess because they thought JP would be the starter? Now you're saying you're in the camp that sees JP as the likely starter?
-
Well, it's settled then! I hope the Bills sign Holcomb to a 8 year extension so we can solidify the QB position for the foreseeable future.
-
Just out of curiosity, do you know the difference between grass and turf?
-
Yes, if fans aren't "rah rah" fans then they're not behind the team. I guess in order to be a "loyal" fan one must simply agree with every single thing the team does and if you don't you lead a pathetic life. Great logic.

Nall will be the starter by the home opener
MDH replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I've read it sounded like Nall was the worst of the lot before he got hurt. Howe exactly is he suddenly going to be the best of the bunch by the home opener when he hasn't been getting the starter's reps? -
I just don't see how you can award a change of possession to the other team when the change of possession occurs after the play has been whistled dead. I understand the frustration people feel from these types of "Bull Sh_t" calls (as it sucks to have a refs whistle blow dead a huge play for your team) but I don't care for the rule change. I'm sure I'm in the minority though.

Are you kidding me? The board was loaded with people that were pissed off and thought it was a boneheaded move (I was one of them).

When did you become a Bills fan?
MDH replied to BILLSBACKERINLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1978, I was 6 years old. My brother (age 8) decided a season before that he was a huge Pittsuburgh Steeler fan. I remember telling him it was easy to pick a team that always won and make them your favorite. I told him I was going to find the the worst team in football and root (I think I said "vote") for them. I looked in the paper, saw the Buffalo Bills had the worst record in the NFL and decided they were my favorite team. Little did I know that almost 30 years later they'd still be one of the worst teams in the NFL... -
Poster below assert that we have "all this talent"
MDH replied to ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you seen Rudy play much? With him being on my FF team last year I watched him play quite a bit...and was underwelmed most of the time. He's sluggish, slow to get to (and through) the line and doesn't run with that much power (he does have a little). Where are you getting this idea that he's a great back? WM might not be great (he's not) but I'd take him before Rudy Johnson anyday. -
Who will be the better QB this year...
MDH replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go with JP as well, mostly because I think Rivers has "bust" written all over him. I didn't like him coming out of college and until he proves otherwise, I don't like him still. -

Would that be Michael "Why should I change my name, he's the one who sucks!" Bolton? Sorry, just felt the need to pile on. -
And this is why you don't take a S in the top 10. Safties don't get paid as much as other positions but position doesn't matter when it comes to the slotting of salaries in the draft.
-
Give me a break, no player in football is going to take less money than what the guy in the same spot the year before him got. You'd be an idiot to do so.
-
He missed most of training camp his rookie year and once the season starts it's not like the backup is getting a lot of reps. Last year he had an entire training camp and 8 games started. If you think a guy should come out and shine after one training camp, 8 games started and another 7 practices in training camp I think you're expecting way too much. Coming out of college Losman was said to be a project type pick, a guy that would take longer than normal to groom. So we have a guy that many thought would take longer than normal and expect him to show results in a shorter than average period. Just great.

Report: Bills and Whitner Over 1 Million Apart!
MDH replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait a second, I thought Whitner's agent was at fault? -
I wouldn't be surprised if "Fast" Freddy makes the squad as the 6th WR and Nance is put on the practice squad. Nance was a street FA after all, it's not like teams are going to be beating down the door wanting to put him on the active roster. Even then, if another team tries to claim Nance the Bills can always make the decision at that time if they want to put him on the active roster and cut someone else in the process.

Or a very good driver. Apparently he went off the road in the exact same place in Aspen and hit the exact same tree multiple times. I believe alcohol was involved each time.

Dante's agent is doing him a great disservice
MDH replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course it matters, we're talking millions of dollars here. Though you are right the really big money is with the next contract...which is why Whitner would want a 5 year deal instead of a 6. That one year could cost Whitner loads of money. -

MDH replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love these types of posts. You know virtually nothing of the negotiations or of the contracts the players sign other than what gets printed in the paper, yet you're absolutely certain that it's the agent's fault and Whitner should can him. I want Whitner in camp too but I’m not going to take sides as I don’t have an f’in clue what’s going on.
