The OP happens to be right. Troupe showed very little this year. He may develop or....he might not. Certainly there was nothing to dissuade the Bills from going DT in the first round. The jury is still out on this draft; Year 1 was not too good.

I agree with the OP that Luck not being in the draft definitely loses some excitement. But there are still some good football players out there and hopefully we get one. Drafting a def. lineman is never a sure thing, as Bill fans well know. But we HAVE to make the commitment to build the front seven. Since they appear to be keeping George Edwards,who is no genius, they should give him all the help they can.

Sometimes a head coach is defined by the assistants he hires. See Wade Phillips and his special teams coach. George Edwards was not qualified for the DC position when he was hired. His qualification was that he coached linebackers in a 3-4 scheme. Big whoop. He had no clue how to stop New England. I really wanted him fired at mid-season. Let Bob Sanders take over. Now, with our defense finishing a historically terrible season and with about 20 HIGHLY qualified guys out there, Chan wants to keep Edwards. Another example of the Bills rewarding mediocrity. Worse than mediocrity I know all of us regulars are hard core fans with a love hate relationship with our team. But at what point do you understand that they are not serious about ever challenging the Pats (or even beating them). Chan should be sat down and told that Edwards is gone and start interviewing but the other thing is, that would cost the Bills mney.

You don't have a problem with them taking a CB or WR in the first round. You weren't paying attention this season. I would prefer to see them not take a CB or a WR at all.

They just gave 5 million a year to a guy who has done nothing fr 3 years. How do you justify NOT paying someone who has averaged 120 tackle seasons when healthy. Just plain stupid to not at least try to resign Poz.

Wow is anyone actually watching the games? Troup has been playing over the center much more than Williams. We have not been a 3-4 team since approx. week 4. While very occasionally we will have 3 down lineman in the game, we NEVER have 4 LB's in the game. Usually it's with extra DB's.

Find a Patrick Willis or haloti Ngata and draft him.

At least there are players currently on the roster (Wilson,Scott) who could replace Whittner, who I believe has had a very good season. I would be much more upset if they let Lee Evans go to save money.While a little disappointed in his production this year, he is a good football player and that would be yet another hole we would have to fill.

Okay lets examine what this coaching staff has done:The defense is still mostly terrible and gets run over. If not for Poz and Whittner, every handoff would be a touchdown. While there has been a moderate improvement in the passing game, it is not reflected on the scoreboard. In the last seven games, we have gone over 19 points exactly once. we have played one really good winning football game all year. This draft has contributed little to date. Spiller is a disappointment. What gives you optimism?

If it would have been the Bills strength and conditioning coach, would you have condemned Chan? I don't think that Ryan knew anything about this. The Jets would not be so tough on the guy if he was under orders. This is not that big a deal. I think Alosi did this on his own; spur of the moment.
