  1. I'm not saying the guy's a bust or that he won't get better. I'm saying that as the number 9 pick, the guy has had no impact. 1 kickoff return. What else has he done? Vision is something you either have or you don't. It's not something you learn. I don't see any reason to believe he has it.
  2. That was 21-0 six minutes in.
  3. Anyone else stunned by the New Orleans-Cleveland score? Then I did a double-take when I saw the game was in New Orleans. WOW Whats up with the Saints? Looks like a good year for ex Patriot coaches- Mangenius and the guys in K.C. Colt McCoy?
  4. Anybody notice that the KC two headed monster of Josh Charles /Thomas Jones has 950 yards rushing? They are no.1 in the league in rushing. Should be (ahem) quite a challenge for our run defense.
  5. Actually thought Whitner's drop was the key play of the game. Could have put us up 3 touchdowns.
  6. I knew that Spiller was a bit of a luxury when we drafted him as there were much bigger needs. But the offense needed a playmaker and I thought that if he lives up to the hype, he will be worth it. Watching yesterday, I believe that he headlines what is potentially another lousy draft. The really good ones have the vision to find the hole and then hit it. Lynch did not have that vision, Freddy does. Spiller doesn't have it either. On one running play going up the middle, there was a huge hole to the left. Spiller started that way, hesitated, went straight for a small gain. I am also disappointed that the guy still hasn't learned that the sideline is not his friend. If you want to bounce it outside fine, but then cut it up the field. This is what got him benched and he still hasn't learned. I also do not see the strength to break tackles, which is where the Johnson comparisons really break down. Spiller is young and may continue to develop. But right now he looks like a back-up running back and kick returner. He was an extravagance at #9, exactly what the media said. I hate it when they are right. Hard to have faith in Nix when his draft did not produce even one impact player. Troup is kind of average. Carrington doesn't dress. Forget about everybody else. For this team to get better, the drafting MUST get better. Find a pass rusher.
  7. +1 I thought the same thing. There was no reason to name Gailey head coach. We should have just name him offensive co-ordinator. He was 3-4 with this same team and had us in every game. He's not Vince Lombardi but is Gailey? Although I'm beginning to think AVP was a better offensive co-ordinator too.
  8. Can you feel the excitement?
  9. And I oughtta know. I'm a licensed threadmetricist!
  10. The thing that really bothers me about your post is that you have the name of one of my favorite movies. Why do fans complain about even our few good players? Isn't there enough to be unhappy about?
  11. Good article. Hard to believe that you can arrest someone on mere suspicion, even in Texas. Count on that state to find the law constitutional. And the whole thing gets abused by "law enforcement". That is why laws must be narrowly written. For the minorities, gays, and drunken punters out there. And LEGALIZE pot.
  12. Back at ya! In this season of seasons TBD and TSW are the only things keeping me sane.
  13. I had us at 4-12.Didn't realize I was an optimist.
  14. Washington would have to change their name.
  15. Watching this guy last night and having been a football fan since 1966, I became convinced that he may be the greatest NFL quarterback of all time. Everyone says you need a great offensive line. He doesn't have one. No running game: No problem. One legitimate receiver? He makes the other guys look like stars. This is to you Peyton. With apologies to Staubach,Montana,Marino and Favre, you are the best ever.
  16. Comes down to: Can he still rush the passer? We have no one to do that. Don't care about his leadership.
  17. This was mine. How about "I'm a loser" by the Beatles
  18. That was opening day 1967.
  19. +1 The fastest way to improve this team next year is to hire a star def. co-ordinator. That would have a bigger impact than a rookie qb.
  20. Are you Dudley Meredith?
  21. So Buddy is going out on the road to scout quarterbacks. What does Tom Modrak do for this team? Anybody know? And try and keep a straight face.
  22. Fitz is a gamer. Never slides when he runs. Should be a captain. Wish everyone (on D) gave his effort.
  23. First of all, just because a lockout occurs to START the season, it doesn't mean that it would last all year. that would be unprecedented. The likelier scenario is that they play with scabs; by week six or seven, some veterans making minimum start to come in; the players settle for the best deal they can get and you have a 6 game season with expanded playoffs. This would establish the draft order for the following season. In the unlikely event that a lockout killed the whole season, I would think they would go with a weighted lottery involving all non-playoff teams of 2010, like the NBA does with their draft.
