  1. If this is even marginally true, he'd be cut. And rightly so. Kim Pegula is in charge.
  2. Yeah McBeane are gonna need a nap now. I like the moves...a lot. But honestly it's what we do with all that draft capital. I mean, it's not like Whaley didn't do some dealing of his own. It's the talent we acquire or don't. And how we develop them or don't.
  3. The draftniks said the last great arm they saw prior to Allen was Jamarcus Russell. I'm not saying Allen=Russell. I'm just saying to fall in love with a QB just cause of his arm is probably not the best way to go about finding talent. He might end up being the best QB in this draft. But I agree with Hapless. Development is key here. I think the intangibles on Mayfield are pretty good. But even he has some question marks. I wish we were picking top 5-10. There's great value there. If Mayfield or Lamar are there at 21 or 22 it's a no brainer. But you also have to consider a top 5 talent at another position could be there at 21 or 22 as a result of the positioning for the QB talent. What do you do then?
  4. I liked his arm at the Combine. It was like being at a circus and watching the lion tamer. Even the other QBs were impressed. But if you're gonna hock the farm and move up 15-18 spots, you better be dang sure he's your franchise guy. Right now the guys who look the part for that are Darnold, Rosen and Mayfield. They all have their faults. But to me Allen just doesn't seem to have "it." He just has a cannon. He's a one trick pony. A pretty cool trick. But one trick nevertheless. Not sold on him at all.
  5. I remember him. I don't think he played one snap for the Bills.
  6. His defense came through when it counted in a big way. All season. That D was on fire. And who is Doug Pedersen? Dude is a baller. Good and aggressive. C
  7. Having one of the best QB/Coach tandems in maybe all of NFL history covers up a multitude of sins. There are teams that draft better...by a lot. But Pats have Brady.
  8. McCloughan is toxic. Brilliant evaluation mind. But drama follows wherever he goes. If they can keep him off the sauce in CLE he'll be a great addition to the FO. But he has bigger problems. https://www.si.com/mmqb/2017/03/16/washington-redskins-nfl-dysfunction-scot-mccloughan-dan-snyder-bruce-allen http://thebiglead.com/2015/09/02/wife-of-washington-gm-scot-mcgloughan-apologizes-for-tweeting-espn-reporter-traded-bj-for-scoop/ http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/12014699/scot-mccloughan-nfl-best-talent-scout-self-employed-living-farm
  9. Was an injured Zay Jones really better than another healthy WR? I don't get this logic. Why didn't they get him fixed and use someone far more effective?
  10. Chud can make steak out of minced meat. The guy fits the offense around the QB. That and he would feature TEs again in the O. I think McCoy or Dorsey are fine too. But the guy is super flex. Derek Anderson and Jacoby Brissett thrived in his systems. I feel like he could get the most out of a bridge QB and our drafted QB. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Chudzinski C
  11. I loved that team. Romo is gonna be a broadcasting legend. He is a really really good analyst. Kinda like Madden - except less buffoonery. C
  12. He's no Eric Lee. This is his "highlight" reel? He's playing against a Gawd awful QB.
  13. I agree with this article's central thesis 100%. I'm not sure this offense is holding back Tyrod, but it sure as hell isn't helping.
  14. I agree about the trade. But even then, you just gave up a solid DB. Shouldn't you go ahead and try to utilize the guy to the utmost? This WR coach and OC suck. Both need to go. I also wouldn't mind a complete offensive side house cleaning. Also check out Virgil's summary: I completely agree on points 8) and 9).
  15. Man, my bad. Most of the people on this board would have been able to get at what I meant. But for those unable to connect the dots…let me help. This staff is throwing stuff at the wall at hopes it sticks. The only thing they’re sure of is that they don’t want the guys they didn’t draft to remain in Buffalo. Even if they are talented. I’m pretty sure Tyrod, as much as he is a fit for this team right now, is gone by next season. I honestly don’t have of a problem with that as long as they have a better option in the wings. But I’m also pretty sure, this administration, will look for all kinds of excuses to ship out McCoy as well. Conversely, if they drafted or brought a guy in either while here or in Carolina, the guy gets more than the benefit of the doubt until he craps the bed. Take Zay Jones and Mike Tolbert. They used the same “process” to ship out: Watkins Woods Gillislee Gimore Dareus Williams (Denver, now Saints) They’re also using the same thought process on Tyrod (which is TT isn’t productive so we need someone else in there). The truth is TT isn’t productive in *this* system. Dennison should be coaching for his life. Today’s win shouldn’t change any of that. Not having Miller and Reilly in there is also criminal. But in either case, regardless of whether they bring someone in or let them go, they are unable to maximize the guy’s potential. Kaelin Clay is an example of that. He was signed by Beane while he was in Carolina. So they traded Kevon Seymour, a solid DB for Clay. That should have never happened. All the while having Brandon Reilly in the wings. But while they had Clay they were unable to utilize him in an optimal/productive way. We can argue as to how productive he’s been at Carolina. But there is little doubt that the Panthers staff has gotten more out of him than our staff. So we gave up a DB and lost a WR, maybe a marginally productive one, but it’s still dumb. The “Process” should look at how the systems they’ve installed are not being productive or getting the most of the players. Both on offense and defense. Of the players shipped out, I would say the Gilmore thing was a good move. I’m also glad Dareus isn’t here. I think that was a win-win for both sides. But everyone else has been fairly productive elsewhere or in Buffalo. This administration is more interested in scapegoating the players they did not personally coach, sign or draft. They undervalue those players and overvalue the ones with which they have a personal history. But in spite of that they have not gotten what they can out of the players that they do have on the team.
  16. That our staff needs to do better with what we have.
  17. We traded for him and then cut him. The team that traded him to us then signed him again. And got more production out of him then we did. We now traded for another one of their WRs. Wonder how that's gonna turn out? http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000883084/Kaelin-Clay-hits-spin-move-and-turbo-on-60-yard-punt-return-TD
  18. Exactly. Also people throw around his stats at about .500 QB. That statistic is meaningless without context. That's akin of the p-value in science and engineering. That win/loss ratio is useless without an index measuring the talent and coaching around him. The QBR doesn't even come close. I am good with us moving on from TT. I just want proof that we've maximized and optimized what we can do *with* him before reproducing the same bad team, design, infrastructure and scheme with a top tier QB.
