Let's just remember that these coaches didn't see what McKenzie and Bates truly could do until their hands were forced. Today I read a thing where McDermott said they were trying to protect Bates cause he could play all positions. Seriously? All the while our OL was caving in and our QB was running for his life. I have no problem with the staff trusting veterans more than newer talent. You only need to see the Sanders show to know this is true. But c'mon. We have so much talent on this roster. It's just being underutilized IMHO.

I agree per the CDC not ringing the bell louder. It wouldn't have mattered per Beasley. Unvaccinated players are not only a hazard to themselves but to the vaccinated as well. Omicron is hyper mutative in the spike protein. That and the fact that the vaccinated's immunity is waning without the booster is a perfect storm. But it doesn't mean that vaccinations are not conferring immunity. We are learning as we go. This franchise sticks its head in the sand. A 10 year old could see how we can't run and can't stop the run. But we were down to hoping and praying. We *might* make the playoffs. It will be a short run.

Great recap, Virgil. I also read your Why this Offense is different post last week and it seemed like this week we went throwback on the offense. And it worked. I don't know why Gabe isn't in games more. He is great. It's almost like the coaches bought a new luxury toy in Sanders and now feel like they need to use him more. When Davis is more versatile. He is going to go elsewhere this season and become All World. I like Brieda. I think I would like Antonio Williams better. They guy went to RB University. But I agreed with all 8 points in that post. This O Line sucks. Especially the right side. Almost every snap he was under pressure. Until the line is fixed, this is going to be an issue. They need to move the pocket now to protect Josh. It plays to his strengths too. Please refer to Titans v Rams last night for how to beat these pass rush heavy teams. Especially ones where the secondary is vulnerable. Time to drop the 11 personnel for now and go 21. Or try Kumerow in a hybrid WR/TE position. He is a big big man.

I honestly don't know why they don't elevate Antonio Williams. He makes his own holes to run through. He comes from a RB machine school. I don't know much about his receiving and blocking skills. So not a great 11 personell guy. But good Lord. We need at least the semblance of a running threat. No one fears this O line.

There's no way a team this talented on offense should settle for field goals. But we are essentially one dimensional without a solid running game. We just happen to have an other worldly QB who in most games gets enough protection. Completely agree, that lack of adjustments killed us.

Bill Parcells used to hate superstar quarterbacks who played "hero ball." As much as I love Josh, I think he got too caught up in that. He didn't play smart. Didn't take what the D gave him and he certainly wasn't seeing the whole field. It almost felt like he and Daboll were reading their press clippings and really feeling themselves. I want them to be aggressive. But I also want them to be smart. They need to go watch how Stefanski took the game to the Chiefs on Sunday. They were arguably more creative with less weapons. Sure they lost. But for most of the game they had the Chiefs on their heels.

I'm just glad our guys still have their kneecaps.
