  1. Thanks B-Man. I have been looking for more information on this. I knew there had to be more to it. Usually when I hear CNN and MSNBC, or FOX etc trumpeting a line like this and the rabid members of Congress tweeting and saying it over and over I know there has to be more to the Story. Was certainly true for Benghazi was because of an internet video, Covington kids, Michael Brown was shot in the back running away with his hands up, Juicy Smolliet, Saddam has WMDs etc.
  2. My post was about Jimmy Carter supporting voter ID. And you responded about bottles of water. I fail to see the connection.
  3. Please explain what this has to do with Jimmy Carter supporting voter ID.
  4. Is it a priority for them to vote or not? I bet if I told them I'd give them $100 but they had to ride a bus across town to get it they'd do it. It just seems silly to me that you can't do anything in this country without a government ID except vote, which is the most important thing. How do these people of which you speak do anything? I totally agree with you that everyone should be able to vote without restriction.
  5. Jimmy Carter supports voter ID or at least did as part of the Federal Election Reform Commission in 2005. https://www.carolinajournal.com/news-article/federal-election-reform-commission-advocated-voter-photo-id/
  6. In Washington State a person can get an ID card (not drivers license) at the Driver License Bureau. https://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/idcards.html
  7. Buying weed. Picking up chocolate bunnies at See's Candies. Seriously. I ordered some Easter candy for curb side pickup and See's sent me an email about how to pick it including I needed a government issued ID.
  8. Good job speaking at career fairs. I'm sure its rewarding for you and helps young people. I do hear the line find something you like to do and you won’t work a day in your life. And I suppose its true. I got a little different advice from my father which has worked for me. Learn to do something people want to pay you to do. A marketable skill is they key to a decent life at least financially. Of course it should be something you like but it doesn't have to be your passion. How many of us who have been working for 15 years or so and like our jobs OK are doing what we thought we wanted to do at 17 (besides @transplantbillsfan)? Not me. I wanted to be a famous jazz musician. I auditioned for and got into the USMC band program. After that I went to North Texas State University, one of the best jazz schools in the country. I worked really hard at it but I just didn't have what the top cats had. At that point I followed my Dad's advice and got into Business Computer Information Systems because I knew people would pay me a good wage to do it and I got an A in the first class. And they have. Since they do, I can support my family and still follow my passion playing music. Cuz I have some spare coin I can afford decent instruments. I play often and get a blast out of it. I know some other guys who stayed true to their passion in music that are OK musicians and they play gigs at night, work day jobs, teach lessons, or anything else they can do for money. Seems that would take a decent chunk of the fun out of it. I guess my point would be, find something you like but make sure its something people want to pay you to do. So that's what I tell young people when they listen to me which is rarely which probably contributes to why I voted that teaching is a hard job.
  9. Yeah, don't forget about the ole switcheroo.
  10. In my state once the growers got humming along and stores opened up, the price went down from pre legalization.
  11. Is this the standard for VP? Uncle Dick? If Uncle Dick didn't salute the military people then its OK for VP Harris not to? I was hoping VP.Harris wouldn't do anything that Uncle Dick did. Is that dude in your avatar doing a Hail Hitler salute?
  12. Have you ever had a family member with a mental illness? I have and its extremely difficult if not impossible to get help for them from governmental agencies or any agency for that matter. Once the insurance runs out which it does quickly, you are on your own and good luck.
  13. The reddogblitz plan takes it into account. If a person buys a gun, if the gun is used in a crime or someone gets shot with it, you go to jail for 1 year. If you legally sell it to someone then they become responsible and you are off the hook. People will be a lot more careful with their guns when the reddogbliz plan is implemented. Many people would decide its just not worth it to hold onto.
  14. I understand that. Some do some don't. I fathered 2 children. One was planned, one wasn't. so I understand your point. Chilren are expensive. But at the same time if you're bringing in $1200 a month, $300 sounds like a lot of money. Again goes back to why do we have so many children born to people not set up for it with the plethora of free contraception available? Maybe some public service announcements could help? Maybe they don't know what's available.
  15. Cool. As to the bolded you are right because presently people aren't financially incented to have more kids. Will be interesting to see what happens to the birth rate when people get an extra $300 per month for having another child. Maybe I should have explained it better, but that's what I was referring to.
  16. Why are you making this about Republicans? They'll never be able to "defund" Planned Parenthood. And even if they did, PP only gets 33%of its money from the feds. they'd make that up with contributions or whatever. Bottom line, they, ACA, and cheap rubbers at 7-11 (free in some places) should be able to cut way down on unwanted pregnancies. I don't understand why we have so many these days with all the free/cheap contraceptives available.
  17. How about they do neither? Abortion is far from the only way to prevent a child you can't afford. The affordable care act made contraception free. If uninsured,, one can acquire it free at planned Parenthood. Or walk into the convenience store/gas station on every corner and buy some rubbers, trust me, they work.
  18. We need to stop incentivizing people to have children they probably cannot afford.
  19. Indeed. Why should Americans, 67% of which don't have a college degrees, pay off @transplantbillsfan's loan which he took out on his own volition while taxpayers paying it off do not get the benefit of the education he got?
  20. New Zealand is also an island and has travel restrictions. https://www.etanewzealand.com When we tried that it was xenophobia.
  21. How should it be addressed at "the source"?
  22. It did. I'm not sure why bidness auto corrects to viruses, but it did.
  23. Maybe Uncle Joe should just walk up the stairs instead of trying to be a hot dog running up the steps like his old boss used to.
  24. My Dad was right about a lot of things. Like when he used to tell us in the 70s - early 90s that swing dancing would come back. We laughed and said that stuff is NEVER coming back. Then he died in 1995 and I'll be doggone within 5-10 years it was back.
  25. Here we go with the "from scratch" excuse again.
