Biden backs reparations study
reddogblitz replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know about that. The Abolitionists were almost all white. A white man signed the Emancipation Proclamation. 360,000 Union Army mostly white men were killed in the Civil War, a war fougHt primarily to end slavery. The Civil Rights law of 1964 was passed by a wide margin by an all white congress. Jim Crow was deemed uncostitutional by an almost all white Supreme Court. The 13th ammendment was passed by white people. Affirmative Action laws were put in place by primarily white people. A ton of white people voted for a black man for president in back to back landslides. A lot has been done. A lot more needs to be done. Your statement above which I quoted is awfully broad. Do you have any proof that a majority of white Americans do not wish. to repair the damage inflicted upon black people? Reparations is not the only way to do this and probably not the most effective either. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I'm not so sure about this. Kids need to first learn how to read, add, subtract, multiply, objectively reason etc first. Technology is ever changing. You can teach kids how to use technology that we have today and by the time they get in the work force it will be obsolete. I am a professional web programmer. When I was in grammar school and high school we didn't have computers. When I was in college we learned COBOL programmed on punch cards. What has enabled me to progress in my career is my reading comprehension, math and reasoning skills, and ability to learn new things. All of which I learned in school without computers. Not some technology I learned in school. -
Russia Was Not a Democratic Hoax

Not trying to excuse Pooty Poot, but do you honestly think we don't participate in nefarious activities with other countries? Wasn't that long ago we got caught hacking Angela Merkel's cell phone. And her country is our ally. -
This the highlight of Rush's TV show.

Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Tequila

I agree that Tony Romo sounds drunk sometimes. I don't mind Troy so much but can't stand Joe Buck. His dad was good. Joe is just a case of exacerbated nepotism. -
The Joe Biden Death Tally

Yet somehow they were able to give 900,000+ vaccines per day. I also remember when the govt. signed a deal for Walgreens and Rite Aid to do vaccines in nursing homes. She may not like the plan and that's OK. But to say 45 admin had zero plan in disingenuous at best. -

It was a success because the Donkey team got exactly what they wanted. Trump being found not guilty will rev up the base for the mid terms which historically go for the party that lost the prez race. And Trump is still out there and can run again which will make for the best fund raising tool since Newt Gingrich. Most Republicans stood up and voted against impeachment so they can use that too. And now we can have a 1 1/2 year Congressional investigation on why it happened wrapping up in late summer 2022 complete with nationally televised hearings. Works out great for the next election which is why they do everything they do.

Available players released from other teams
reddogblitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe you're right. I don't know. I don't pretend to understand the salary cap. I don't know that anyone really does. That's why teams have resident capologists earning 7 figure salaries. I just remember how our offense looked when we had Allen and schmucks at WR. Brown is a high quality WR and I hope we don't lose him. I'll leave it at that. -

Why would he accept a pay cut? He has a contract with the Bills for him to play and the Bills to pay him. If the Bills were to follow some of yalls advice and dump him, some other team would be happy to pay him. I remember we tried this with Fitz and he walked and we had to start EJ at QB cuz Kolb was cheaper. -

I don't get why so many are down on Brown. He was great in 2019 and played well before the injury. Of course he didn't get as many yards/catches cuz we added Diggs. You gotta have more than 1 stud WR in a passing offense and you need depth. No guarantee Diggs doesn't get injured next year. Would really hate to see us run him off.- 566 replies

It may he more than that. According to the article that started the thread, it was because they thought there may be a DOJ investigation. I'm not a lawyer, but hiding information because you think it may he used against you in an investigation could be a crime. I have worked in Records Management and I know there if you hear or think an investigation is coming it is a crime to destroy or hide the documents related to it.

I used to think it was kind of cool to go to a football or basketball game and people were there from both teams rooting for their team in a hard fought battle. But before it started, everyone would stand up and sing a song in unity. Then when it was over it was back to "your Mom wears Army boots". But now it has become a circus and some sort of loyalty test. If you stand, it means you supports racism and all the ills in American history. If you sit, you hate America. The most ridiculous being when the Steel Curtain stayed in the locker room but the guy who was a veteran came out on his own. So now I'm all for getting rid of it.

Well I'll be doggone. I always thought it was a Joe Walsh song. Thought it was on The Smoker you Drink, The Player You Get album. Thanks for straightening me out on this. Evidently I'm not the only one. I copied the lyrics out of a web site to makes sure I had them right. https://www.justsomelyrics.com/1676472/joe-walsh-midnight-toker-lyrics.html A tip of the hat to Steve Miller then.

I love the line from the Joe Walsh song The Joker: Cause I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner I play my music in the sun I'm a joker I'm a smoker I'm a midnight toker I sure dont want to hurt no one

The Democrats Unification Tour*

Add sign language interpreters to list of things political along with beans and pillows and masks. -
So don't pay attention if you don't want to. Its a free country.

OK I finally looked at the tweet from Big Blitz. Not really into tweets. I just saw your response to me. So what if its not relevant? Since when do responses around here have to be relevant?
-
Oh really? I just think its rich that the guy that didn't accept the results of the election and tried to overturn the will of the people by challenging the awarding of legally elected electors 4 years ago is running the impeachment, that's all.

You brought up Raskin. Its an interesting thing he did. Did you know he did that?
-
I don't think they have. However, Raskin didn't accept the results of the 2016 election and challenged the results on January 6, 2017 like Ted Cruz did in 2021 and was called out of order by Vice President Biden.
