The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
reddogblitz replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Y'all keep saying this, but are you aware that COVID deaths per 100,000 are about 1/2 of what they are in more enlightened states like NY and NJ. And FL has a large elderly population. NJ is first at 246. NY is 226, MA is 213 rounding out the top 3. Meanwhile, FL is 125 and Texas at 130. The best is Vermont at 28. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/ FL is also #24 in cases per 100,000. Not like they're way worse as is often depicted. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109004/coronavirus-covid19-cases-rate-us-americans-by-state/ -

The Democrats Unification Tour*
reddogblitz replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I would add that if this keeps up, in another 100 years from now they will have to rename all the stuff named after people alive now because some things we are doing now and think are OK will be determined to be evil by them. I believe its ridiculous to hold people of the past to the standards of today. If we lived then, we would have done what they did. -

Good time to start thinking about that Kracken thing. They're coming for the Sabres next year. -
The Davos Agenda 2021--The Great Reset

This sounds a lot like Kurt Bonus it's first novel, "Player Piano". Good book and kind of freaky how prophetic it is. I highly recommend it. https://www.enotes.com/topics/player-piano-kurt-vonnegut -
Silly. You can't really delete anything on Twitter/FakeBook etc. Once you click Submit it might as well be carved in stone.

The peril of ignoring analytics
reddogblitz replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember in the Colts playoff game Coach Reich did all the correct analytics stuff and played himself out of the game. Just because stuff should work based on averages of all teams doesn't mean it would work vs the defending SB champs when your offense is sucking eggs. I trust Coach McDermott's judgement over what stat geeks say he should do. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I saw this a few days ago. I had some cuz I do wood working but I donated them in March. But I missed a couple. Gonna start wearing it now when I go out. I question that it would go away if implemented. The big hang up is it requires everyone to do it. Any plan that relies on everyone doing anything is doomed to failure. Especially in the times and country we live in. Saying FU to authority is a an American tradition and usually seen as a good thing. If even 20% of the population says no way, it will still spread and then after 4 weeks all the ones that did wear and stopped will be infected by those that don't. -
Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?
reddogblitz replied to Dr.Sack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I looked at the link before I saw your post. I knew they used to have it cuz I watched it 😁. As you pointed out, the players weren't into it and suspect today's players definitely would not be. -
Houston GM and coach say they're not trading him. Why should they? He led the league in passing this year. He'll just have to cool it and play football like he signed a contract to do. If I was Houston I wouldn't trade him. I apologize for the double quote. Since they put the Quote button where the Edit button used to be I'm still not used to it. Also there is no cancel. Hopefully I'll remember next time.

Should NFL Adopt 3rd Place Game Week Before Super Bowl?

I was going to post this too but you beat me to it. I remember watching the 1965 game. Cowboys played some scrubs IIRC. not all, but some. My Dad was not too thrilled about that. He wanted to win. Tom Matte started at QB for the Colts due to Unitas and Cuozzo being out. First QB to wear a wristband with the plays written on it. I think it'd be awesome if the guys really played to win like a real game, but they won't. -
Bernie and Ron Paul and 150 others did not buy it. Maybe President Biden just has a faulty lie detector whereas the others do not? Looks like we're reached a stalemate. So I'm going to move on to something else. I originally brought this up to refute your George W Bush style argument that if you voted Republican (which I did not) then you are responsible for everything these people do. So, President Biden is a Catholic. He goes to mass and I would assume supports them financially when the offering plate comes around. The Catholic church has a well documented and proven in court history of molesting young boys. By your logic, Joe supports this and is responsible For what they do. And if you vote for him you are responsible too.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Mayor Bloomberg had w good editorial in the Seattle Times today. https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/getting-kids-back-into-classrooms-should-be-a-national-priority/ The bolded is why we need to get kids back in school as soon as humanly possible. Rich or upper middle class kids have broad band, their own laptop and their parents hire tutors or go to private school. Poorer kids don't have that are falling further behind. We all believe in equity, right? The current situation has no equity. The gap between the haves and have nots is widening. -
Bernie didn't buy it. 150 congress people didn't buy it. Senator Biden did. Its not "holding a grudge". Its remembering it so we don't make the same dumb mistake again. We need to remember it again especially since President Biden sent more troops into Syria on his first day in office. The whole WMD thing was BS from the beginning. I never believed it for a second. I remember Uncle Dick on TV saying " Saddam possess the most deadly weapons known to man.". We have the most deadly weapons known to man. He's got better stuff than us? How could anyone not see through that? Killing a million people is nothing like voter fraud. You want to hold all Republicans responsible and forgive the Democrats. Seems like a double standard. And yes Bush/Cheney/Rice/Colin Powell have a bigger share of the blame. But anyone that voted for it has a hefty share as well as I see it. Your results may vary.

I mentioned the color of skin because everything is about the color of skin nowadays. Perhaps Senator Biden and his cronies should have considered if they attacked a foreign country unprovoked and brought "shock and awe" by bombing the crap out of Baghdad maybe they would kill a lot of innocent people? Bernie and Ron Paul and a lot of others did. Whatever his intentions were, the results are on him (and all the yay voters) and are what they are. He owns it. Nuns in grammar school used to tell us hell is paved we good intentions. Again, yes, Trump is really bad but that doesn't give President Biden a pass on his HUGE mistakes. Do you think it should?
-
Even if the other side wants to attack a foreign country unprovoked and kill 1,000,000 brown people? I agree that Trump is bad as was W. But that doesn't make President Biden an angel. I'm not on the blue team, I'm not on the red team. I'm on the American team. therefore I am an equal opportunity annihilator when a politician screws up as both Trump and President Biden have done.
