reddogblitz replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Poor ole decorated war veteran John Kerry, smartest person alive Hillary Clinton, and elder statesman Joe Biden cannot be held responsible for their ill advised votes because those mean ole Wascally Wepublicans made 'em vote for it. If your boy/girl voted for it, own it. -

Amen my Bills brother. Social media is the driving force behind a lot of our division IMHO. Tweets are driving the conversation. But in 140 characters, there is no room for nuance or clarification. People read it and run with it without waiting for the rest of the story to come out. I see it in my own house since my spouse is a big social media person. She like so many others believed the Covington kids were harassing the Indian dude. Michael Brown was shot in the back running away saying hands up don't shoot. The Steele Dossier was true. They believe it and act on it without even thinking about it. That's why Portland had to put out a tweet saying don't freak out, we shot a white dude. (Tweets were already out organizing a protest because the police allegedly shot a black dude.) In the pre social media days if a person a news junkie/political hound, they would read the newspaper, read Time magazine and watch the nightly news on TV which still left a huge chunk of the day for other stuff. Those not interested didn't pay attention. Now, everyone on social media gets bombarded with politics 24/7. But they don't have near as much information as pre social media news hounds. Throw in that social media is slanted and spoon fed to you stuff they think you will like. Its just a huge disinformation infrastructure. Social media is the best population control device ever invented so far. And it is working well. -
Honest discussion about racism (non political)
reddogblitz replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I found this interesting In the report. So maybe its not just race since women regardless of race are the real Patriots in the justice system. I had originally thought it had mostly to do with money but your report says they took that into account. Still not sure. Money goes a long way in the criminal justice system. The OJ trial proved the system works. A rich black man can get off just like a rich white man. A good way to address this would be to somehow take the effects of money out of the process somehow IMHO. Another aspect may be related is when I watch those true crime shows on TV where they show the questioning, way more white people ask for a lawyer whereas most of the black people sit there and eventually confess which results in a harsher sentence. I'm yelling at my TV, "ASK FOR A LAWYER AND STOP TALKING", but few do. Purely anecdotal sure, but may play a role too. Maybe a little education in the POC community on how to deal with police and the law if arrested would help? -

According to the bolded in paragraph 2 it is at least 1/3 true. -
Have you bought anything to eat in the Newark airport in the last 4 or 5years? Here's links to a few companies selling the technology already. https://kiosk.com/market-solutions/order-entry/ https://www.touchbistro.com https://www.oracle.com/industries/food-beverage/restaurant-pos-systems/pos-hardware/self-service-kiosks/ You can bury your head in the sand and say companies will knuckle under and pay more or go out of bidness. My point is they have other options which you seem to discount. We'll see how it works out.
-
There is a third option. Automation. Rising labor costs speed the move to automation replacing jobs. McDonalds doesn't need 8 people taking your order and money, they will be replace by a tablet where you punch in what you want and swipe your card for example. Just like they already have in the NJ airport. More Amazon type stores with no cashiers etc. To think the only option is to pay $15 per hour or go out of business is old timey logic.

Its okay to agree with Ben on some things and not others. I thought your CRT run down earlier was good. I don't really have anything to add. -
Perhaps the church required everyone to wear a mask? All the people behind him are wearing them too.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
reddogblitz replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm making the assumption you have not been vaccinated. What can't you do that vaccinated people can? The Bills I have announced full capacity no vaccine required. Most baseball teams have done so. I suspect other businesses to follow suit in the very near term. As to the bolded are you suggesting the government tell businesses they can't do this? Of course they can. Freedom. No shirt. No shoes. No service. Some stores let you bring your dog in, some don't. I don't care if you get it or not. -
In the old days we might call this a publicity stunt.

Calling a person by the nature of their handicap is gross and disgusting. I had to say something. Silence is violence. -
Obama promised to close Gitmo. We are now into the 6th month of President Biden's term. At what point do you stop obsessing over our past president? Come on, man. And again, if Trump made promises he didn't fulfill then its OK for President Biden to not fulfill his promises too?
-
Actually I was mocking an old bumper sticker I used to see a lot as a kid. America Love it or Leave It. A very closed minded and un American idea. I think Archie Bunker used to say or some variant. "if you don't like it, lump it. Take it on down the road and dump it."

So don't get it you don't want to. Who cares? If you don't get the vaccine and catch COVID the good news is hospitals won't be over run and we won't run out of ventilators. Party like its 1920. -
Critical Race Theory
reddogblitz replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sorry dude, I have lost all respect for you now. First a few days ago you stated you don't know anything about Critical Race Theory yet still argue for it. Today you tell a black man how he is supposed to feel about racism. This is so typical of the white savior complex so prevalent today. The white man (person) is going to ride in on his trusty white stead and fix everything for those poor ignorant black people who cannot help themselves. This tactic invariably only makes thing worse. See Great Society and the ensuing 3 1/2 times rise in single parenthood. Another good example is the predominantly white city council members in Minneapolis defunding the police and the resultant rise of crime mostly affecting blacks negatively. -
America. Love it or leave it.

I like Macy cuz she's a really good singer. She was on Amore (Second) on Santana's Shaman. I also saw her on TV once and she was really good. She wants to change the flag. Who cares? Is it your position that a white person can never criticise a black person? Seems to me white people criticise white people all the time. Is that racist too somehow?
-
Good point. I admit I picked that term rather haphazardly. However, there is still time. My main point was really the second paragraph. How does a man go to a notoriously anti abortion church, sit in the front row, take communion etc and then propose a budget striking down the Hyde Amendment the next day?
