It's Time to Mandate Vaccines
reddogblitz replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Bolded one: I too believe people should have a choice. I just wish more people decided to. I'm NOT saying they should be made to. Bolded two: I just gave you the example of a place with 2,500,000 people 70%+ Vaccinated got 566 confirmed cases, 7 hospitalizations and ZERO death yesterday. I'll let you look up the stats for places with < 50% vaccinated. -

70%- 75% in all areas would be nice. And yes they are. We don't live in your utopian all freedom all the time world. We live in a very political world (thanks Mark and Jack). In our real world with the leaders we have the people who aren't vaccinated ARE getting sick and flubbing it up for the rest of us. I got the vaccine mostly for me but I expected more would step up so we could end this nonsense. But we still can't and (with our leadership and vaccination rate) probably won't any time soon. In the county I live with a population of 2,500,000, our vaccination rate is > 70%. Yesterday we had 566 confirmed cases, 7 hospitalizations, and ZERO deaths. We are not locked down, no one wants passports, and our governor says people don't need to wears masks unless they want to. And he ran for president as a wacky left winger. https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/data/daily-summary.aspx But yeah, I might grow a third arm out of my forehead. Again, I agree with some of what you say, but its just not gonna work that way. I have to admit I love your passion for the people not vaccinated even though you are. -

You didn't answer my question. you and I both have taken vaccines. I think we should just open things up and let the chips fall where they may. But unvaccinated peeps (you still haven't told me what they should be called) are screwing it up for the rest of us cuz they keep getting sick and I now have to protect them. (F*ck 'em I say.) Shouldn't be like the but its the world we live in. -

When referring to people who have not received the vaccine, what should we call them? -

Private businesses, I am asking you to turn 1/2 your customers away. And those turned away customers will likely never come back. Sounds like a good business plan.

President Biden couldn't mandate masks for everyone cuz of the constitution. Same would be true for vaccines I suspect. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Thanks. I question if its as black and white as that. Do we know if they are shedding dead and/or weakened COVID cuz they had the vaccine and that a what the vaccine does (kill COVID)? This doctor said on June 14 fully vaccinated people may spread it less. https://health.clevelandclinic.org/can-vaccinated-people-transmit-covid-19-to-others/ -

In best Richard Dawson voice, Survey says .... Thanks for proving my point. Surveys and polls can get the results they want by how they ask the question. Not saying its not true, may be. But I'm not going to take is as gospel based on a poll. Hillary's gonna win, right? -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

How many people were there? What kind of symptoms did they report? Sniffles? Sore throat? As to the bolded, you don't know that. No one does. If you have proof of this please provide it. And even if it does, there is a free widely available way a person can negate that. Key part: No deaths. We originally freaked out about this because of 3000 deaths a day. We are now down to more people dying every day of Alzheimer's than COVID. -

How in heavens name are we "back to square one"? I was at square one. It was nothing like this. No vaccines. No masks. No idea what it even was. As far as her 3 points go, I heard a better one yesterday. "Everyone is going to get immunity one way or the other." -

I don't understand this argument. If Trump supporters are the adoring automatons you profess them to be, why are they allegedly not taking the vaccine? Trump invented the vaccine and says to take it. Why wouldn't they take it if they are just loyal dumb boobs? Seems like they would be all for it. Maybe its something else? It was President Biden and VP Harris that said not to take it. -

Thanks for the response and polling data. Interesting. But I wasn't using polling data. I was talking about numbers on the ground. 40% of Americans identify as Republicans. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-number-of-americans-identifying-as-republican-is-the-lowest-its-been-in-a-decade-gallup-poll-11617812129. 32% of Americans are black or hispanic. https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/US/PST045219 I don't have any hard statistics on % of republicans getting vaccinated. Although no one can say for sure, the size of the groups can't be that different. 35% of blacks/Hispanics get it. That would mean for the Republican unvaccinated to be higher would require the R rate to be about 25%. Does that sound right to you? Do the math. -

Thank you. Did you notice that a lot of states in the bottom 1/2 also have high black and hispanic populations like Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, South Carolina,Tennessee, and Oklahoma? 18-24 year old numbers are also low. I'm not trying to pick on these groups. But it is what it is. Why do you only criticize Rs for it? Vaccine hesitancy is all over the map. It doesn't have to be made political by you and Kellyanne Conan's husband. -

66% of blacks and 61% of hispanics are Tucker Carlson or Marjorie Taylor Greene junkies. Who knew? -
To me this is the crux of the biscuit. Really the only part I care about. As you say everyone knew something was going to happen. Why the failure in security? Normally to try to take over America you need an F15 and a couple of nukes. But on this day a mob waltzed right in. Got into the chamber and the Speaker's office. I won't go as far as you on the fire thing, but Democrats have made and will continue to make massive hay off of it. A great fund raising tool. Not convinced democrats were not involved or at least complicit in the riot of 1/6/21.
