  1. This article brings something as an American citizen I care about. How in the heck did a couple of thousand un armed knuckleheads breach security and get into Congress and shut it down when we all knew tensions were going to be extremely high that day. How did that happen? Who made the decisions? I want to know.
  2. Here is my 2 most funny January 6 things today: First, in the Seattle Times (yes I read the newspaper) they had a long article about Representative Jayapal and her experiences with how we almost lost our fragile democracy cuz people didn't want to respect the vote and will of the people. This is the same person that challenged the result in Trump won states in 2016. When asked about it she said it was different. Of course it was. Second was an email from Stamp Stampede. There was a section crowing about January 6 and people attacking congress. The next section was giving much credit and love to the guy that flew his ultra light airplane and landed on the white house lawn to protest something or other. What a hero!
  3. Anyone that can beat Tommy.
  4. I don't think this even figures into game time playoff decisions by the NFL. I've seen too many extremely cold playoff night games in places like Green Bay and Chicago to think otherwise. You woukd think an organization that loves the fans so much would take this into consideration.
  5. I would prefer the opposite. Indy clobbered us by running down our throat. Our run D is still suspect IMHO. meanwhile we beat NE handily once in their own house and should have won the Wind Bowl Game. McDermott has won 3 out of the last 4 vs Bill Bellyache and totally out coached him the last one. There is a new sheriff in town.
  6. Here's an interesting article about the history of Gerrymandering: https://www.history.com/news/gerrymandering-origins-voting It started shortly after America started. Every political party ever in power has used it. Started with the Jeffersonian Republicans (not Republican, they started in 1854) and the Wiggs and the Democrats and Republicans. Here is a rather gross example: Whichever party is in power will use it and have. When the Democrats are back in power they will do the same. I'm not espousing Gerrymandering, but it is what it is. This book has a good breakdown on how it works: https://www.amazon.com/Ratf--ked-David-Daley-audiobook/dp/B01HU2X7BE/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3D1BDXKRF9V5E&keywords=Ratf*cked&qid=1640988253&s=books&sprefix=ratf+cked%2Cstripbooks%2C191&sr=1-1
  7. This is just Russell's annual woe is me I don't know if I want to take play in Seattle anymore routine. He did the same thing last year.
  8. I don't think any such thing. I do remember earlier in the year against some bad teams (like Jacksonville) I got the feeling Daboll and McDermott were using this bad competition work on the run game. That's what it looked like to me anyway.
  9. Jacksonville
  10. These were obviously misplaced. At least in the construction going on around my house, the construction industry workers appear to be primarily Hispanic.
  11. We'll see. FakeBook has tons of ca$h to give to Republican lawmakers to help them see things Mark's way.
  12. Why did the man from Boston sleep under his car? He wanted to wake up oily.
  13. All teams except 1 lose in the playoffs.
  14. I don't know a the rest of yall but I'm taking this Jets game very seriously. I was at the final game in 2016 when the Fitz led Jets rolled into town at 10-5 and just needed a win over the Bills to get in. We treated them bad and sent them home with their draught in tact. All they have left is spoiler duty. They will play very tough I suspect.
  15. Depends on what the other teams do. You deserve to make the playoffs when you make them.
  16. How can you possibly know this? This is the first year of 17 game season. They also now allow a third wild card team in playoffs. The Bears got in at 8-8 last year, the first year of 3 WC teams per conference.
  17. The defense held a team that recently had been putting up 50 burgers in their own house to 21 points. What do you want?
  18. First off I'm going to dispute the term "back in". If we didn't make the playoffs on 2017 who should have? One of the teams with a worse record or one in worse tie breaker shape? We were the 6th best team in the AFC that year. The rest of it I'm totally on board with. 2017 and 2019-?? Show me Coach McDermott is a really good coach. In 2017we didn't have a great passing QB. But we did have a really good run blocking line and LeSean McCoy and a QB that was good at running. He didn't try to shoe horn a fancy passing offense that was sure to fail. Instead played to his strengths. Smart. Now we have the QB and good WRs so the pass game is on and its really good. There are several coaches in the Hall that coached longer than 5 years before winning their first SB like Tom Landry and Bill Cowher. Patience is a virtue. I know, many want a Super Bowl and they want it NOW! I want a Super Bowl too and think we have the right coach to do it.
  19. How much do you think Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo are making off of this $tuff?
  20. College football to me now seems like a lot of replays interrupted by 3 or 4 football plays occasionally. admittedly don't watch a lot of college football. While watching bowl games I'll see what they do and change my opinion if warranted. As to the bolded I think you are right. Complicated rules and bad referees give the NFL some control over the games outcome which they don't want to give up IMHO. with them now being in bed with gambling I see it probably getting worse.
  21. College reviews too much and it takes too long. I can barely watch college football these days due to all the reviews. Throw in reviews for targeting too. It might fix some mistakes but it definitely slows the game down IMHO.
  22. I do something similar but not as high tech. I TIVO the game and start watching it about an hour after it starts. Then I was forward through all the commercial and half time and other meaningless drivel.
  23. I certainly hope we have somebody manning that role.
