  1. I was and still am a Hotrod fan. When he got benched I cheered mightily for Nasty Nate every time he played. I don't hate him. I hate interceptions and turnovers.
  2. I thought AJ played very well vs Panthers and made some really nice plays and as Coach McDermott says "generated points". 10 points on 2 long drives. The 62 yard play was studly. I almost give him a Mulligan on Fridays game. First KB drops one in his bread basket. Then the horrible protection he got. Bernie Kosar said a few times with the pressure he was getting he had no chance to do anything. Writing him off at this point is very premature IMHO. Coach McDermott pretty much says the same for what thats worth.
  3. Yup. Almost makes me wonder if it was a test by Coach McDermott to see if Nasty Nate has improved any on that pass over the off season. It was like the same exact play.
  4. Probably so. That's the way it's gone the last few meetings. The one that gave up 10 to Jacksonville in the playoffs.
  5. Amen my brother. Buffalo Bills Fan Inferiority Complex is rampant (BBFIC) is rampant. Never understood it especially now. The drought is over. The monkey is off our back. It's about winning now. How has he "bounced back"? He showed up and did his job. He better for what we're paying him. This play gave me flash backs to the playoff game.
  6. I was at the Ravens home game his rookie year when Baltimore was defending Champs. He played very well including a 50 yard bomb and to fellow rookie rookie Robert Woods. I the second half on the 5 yard line he made one of the best ball fakes I've ever seen a and delivered s perfect pass but Lee Smith tripped over his own feet. Next play he hit Woods onES for TD but on further review Booger said he didn't maintain control of the process of some such nonsense. My point is just that he started really well even though he had Hackett Jr as OC/QB coach. Under better circumstances he may have turned out. It was a disservice.
  7. Do you think our "offensive line" had anything to do with this? Bernie Kosar, a guy that knows a little about QBing, said several times that with the blocking AJ was getting he had no chance. Or the plAy where 2 offensive lineman didn't know who to block so they blocked no one. It was bad. Benjamin dropping the first pass didn't help either. i think he makes the team.
  8. I don't know. I'd rather go 19-0. My opinion is the consensus and also my opinion from watching college games is he is a project and should be treated as such. As far as your question goes, I'd rather win 6 or 7 with someone else in than win 6 or 7 with Allen developing bad habits. What's the hurry? He ain't going anywhere. Wait till he's ready. Set him up to succeed. But if he starts he starts. Go BILLS !!
  9. Was thinking more of like "When a LB lines up here it means he is disguising the overages so look over here .." Watching what AJ or whoever does and then learning from that. As opposed to him learning it by throwing a pick in a close game. I understand the trial by fire argument. But he's not Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck. All scouting reports before draft were "he's a project". He still is and should be treated that way if at all possible IMHO.
  10. i watched replay of game and Bernie Kosar said several times that AJ had no chance to do anything with that rush he was getting. Maybe it was the injury play, there were 2 OLmen that didn't know who to block and both blocked no one.
  11. I couldn't cAre less what sports writers think about our QB. I'm good with him as long as we win.
  12. Yogi Berra said it about baseball but it's true of football too. "80% of the game is 1/2 mental". And QB is a more thinking and fast decision making position than catcher. This is where I think he could benefit learning how to read pro defenses and disguised coverages etc. Set him up to succeed when he gets in by knowing this stuff already. i voted Nasty Nate. i think not starting Allen was the process. iF AJ is indeed out i suppose it could change. i don't think it necessarily means who starts vs Ravens.
  13. maybe we should move him to Defensive coordinator.
  14. it's one of those time tested football pre season phenomenon. Defense starts faster than the offense. But the offense catches up.
  15. "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas." - - Don Meredith Are you willing to give Hotrod credit for a 2 Int season last Year since half of his picks bounced off of Clay's hands?
  16. nasty Nate gets more penalties on him than any other QB I've ever seen. He had one in the playoff game and pretty sure he got one called on him in the snow game.
  17. Sing to melody of Jukebox Hero "He's a pre season hero"
  18. I think McDermott doesn't want to start Allen out of the chute ala EJ. It's just my opinion, but I think he wants McCarron to start. A vet who doesn't throw a lot of picks and protects the football. Like we did last year. He wants to win now and he's good at it. That's what I Like a about him. I don't think He wants to throw in a guy on a wing and a prayer and lose the cohesive team that he has built.
  19. For one,on Allen's first play from scrimmage the plAy call is a 60 yard bomb. l 'm still waiting for Nasty Nate's first bomb.
  20. I was just going to post this but you beat me to it. He reminds me of Trent. Drop back and hit a guy short standing still. Then the D figures that and covers the short routes and he's toast. That and they'll blitz the pants off of him. People around here used to say Trent reminded them of Joe Montana. That was a stallion play by both Kelvin and Nasty Nate. LOL Aside from that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
  21. I'm starting to think Allen is the best now too. However I really don't want him to start right out of the chute. But I don't trust Nasty Nate in a real game.
  22. We are now officially in the same position with Allen that we were with EJ. No bidness starting, but what else we got? Also I find it odd that Nasty Nate gets more penalties called on him than any other QB I've ever seen.
  23. Please explain how this is a good tool for a backup. If you're in the playoffs and he gets put him do you really need a guy that throws dying ducks like he did vs Jacksonville? What good is that?
  24. I don't trust him in a real game. Looked like he was kind of hobbling around late in the game. After taking a knee he got up kind of funny. I hope that knee is ok.
