Peterman will never live down the 5-pick half . . .
reddogblitz replied to Dr. K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did I say blame Shady (nice try). I was making an observation that other parts of the offense regressed substantially along with Taylor and scoring. If it weren't for kickers, the Patriots would have only won maybe 3 super bowls. Fail to see the point on this one. -

Serious question: Do you think the changes the OC made between 2016 and 2017 had any effect on defenses knowing how to stop Hotrod in 2017? -

How much did the new OC contribute to the problem? He WAS fired less than 24 hours after the season was over. I was just noting a drop off in the entire offense from 2016 to 2017, not just one guy. Let's review the pattern: In 2015 we scored 379 points In 2016 we scored 399 points (kind of a backwards dwindle) In 2017 we scored 302 points. What changed in 2017? It was also coupled with Shady's 1.4 ypc drop. What changed on the offense between 2017 and 2018? It wasn't because of one player falling off a cliff IMHO. FYI - You can look it up here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2015/index.htm If I had to blame it on one guy, it would be Denison. -

not sure where you get this from. Bills were top 1/3 in the league in scoring in 2015 and 2016. Then something changed and scoring went way down. It wasn't Hotrod. Shady also dropped 1.4 yards from his ypc last year btw. -

It's to him as "went to Harvard" is to Fitz. Deserved it not, I suspect he'll always be known for it. Love the obituary someone posted by Dr K above. -
What areas of the team has Beane actually improved?

according to the rules put in place by the NFL before the start of the season, we did. I'm gonna just roll with that. Put whatever spin on it you wish. -
McDermott and young qbs

i think Coach McDermott just wanted to punt. Guys on the bubble make it or don't based on kicking teAms play. Gives him a chance to see them in a game. It's pre season. -

i was at that game. It was awesome until the bitter end. George Wilson got at least one. Chris Kelsay got one by chasing Romo into the EZ. Chris blocked the pass and caught it for a TD. Trent's 4th quarter pick was costly. -

Whaley was the only GM we've had in the last 10 years that understood the importance of the WR position. We should have broke the drought with what he and Buddy assembled in 2015 if Rex could coach defense. Whaley reportedly didn't want to hire Rex. He wanted to hire Sean McDermott. But Rex brought better wine. -

Agreed. Thanks for the respect. It is my opinion. Sammy is good and he still has not been replaced. Maybe KB, maybe ... Why is WR a so under valued position at OBD? The garbage we had here during the Jauron and Gailey days. I thought we had it figured out a few years ago when we had Sammy, Woods, Harvin, Goodwin, and Hogan. We were also in the top 3rd in scoring. But now we're back to schmucks. meanwhile Atlanta trades up in the 1st round AGAIN (Julio last time) to take a good WR. And, they have Matt Ryan ... I'm a football fan, not an accounting fan. I don't understand the salary cap and don't want to. There is a reason teams have highly paid capologists to manage this as opposed to anonymous people on the internet. -

I was not "super jazzed" about dumping Sammy. So maybe it really wan't "Everyone". -

i agree with this. However, he did run off Sammy and Dareus and Ragland and has not replaced them with anyone better. WR, LB, and DL are still Areas of weakness for us. Winning for a change has been nice though. Hopefully all this works out. -

I had a dream last night. Nasty Nate was hoisting his 3rd straight Lombardi, and the announcer says "He threw 5picks in his first half in the NFL". -
Ian Rapoport: "Josh Allen is not quite ready" to start
reddogblitz replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yet he connected on a long pass that went for 62 yards. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the longest pass play of the pre season by a Bills QB. -
If I had any confidence that the Bills could purposefully take a step back in order to take a step forward I might be for it. But I don't. It took us many years trying to recover from Gailey's first 4-12 "rebuilding" season. Besides, we need players that know how to win. You only that if they win. Just win.

I'm not convinced AJ won't be starting vs Ravens despite being ostracized on TBD. While TBDers give up on a guy due to injury, most coaches do not. Coach McDermott does not. He realizes injuries are part of the game and happen to everyone. "When AJ comes back, we'll pick up where we left off." How exactly do you know this? A 7.2 career ypa in real games would seem to indicAte otherwise. -

my advice to Coach Daboll if Nasty Nate does indeed get in in a real game, remove ALL sideline passes from the play book. -
