  1. Punting unit needs practice too and Shawn's gotta find out who can cover.
  2. Exactly. Was going to comment on this as well. He threw it off his back foot or maybe between steps as you suggest. He's got a lot of work to do.
  3. I agree. The line was bad, but so was he. I was very disappointed when in the 1st quarter (2nd and 13 at 7:02 remaining in first), he had 2 plays in a row where he could have done something, but made horrid passes instead. I'm talking about the one where he rolled out out of pressure to the right and had time and had Clay deep, but horribly under threw him. I was told with that cannon arm he would never under throw anyone. Luckily it wasn't a pick. The next play he had time and looked like some open guys but he just rifled it out there between them all. I'm not sure who he was throwing to. Another punt. I don't think we can blame this totally on him being rattled from a bad OLIne. It was in the first quarter. If he get rattled that fast, hopefully he stays on the porch. He did make some nice short passes which I was glad to see.

  5. all 3 played last year and we had a better O Line. And if our 3rd guy didn't step up in the clutch, we'd be sitting on 18 now.
  6. Me too. In all 3 pre season games, the starting QB has been mortalized. Second guy in seems to get better protection.
  7. any ideas as to who?
  8. I remember one year we opened up against Seattle who had been to AFC Championship the year before. No one gave us a chance. We whipped their butts. They finished up 6-10 that year of something. You just never know.
  9. Nasty Nate had his usual stellar pre season game performance. Hats off to him. i still don't trust him in a real game. Not so sure Coach McDermott does either. Not counting AJ out yet ...
  10. Now he looks like a pudgy/fat cartoon character. The old one was wierd, but give me weird over cute any day when it comes to FOOTBALL.
  11. i think whoever we put in should NOT be throwing it all over the yard. Establish the run game and play ball control. Let the D do it's thing and capitalize on TOs. I believe that to be the process. I partially blame the coaches for the Nasty Nate Chargers debacle. Bring a rookie QB in on the road against a strong pass rush and have him throw it all over the yard. Especially after the 3 play all run play drive to put us back in the lead.
  12. We need all 3 QB s on the roster so we have someone healthy enough to start each week. 2/3 of them have sustained injuries in the first 2 1/2 games. And, although AJ is the lost man and a dead man walking here on TBD, I suspect the opinion is different over at OBD.
  13. He was Also right that he needs get rid of the football faster. On a few of the sacks ,I was able to count 3 1/2 Mississippis before he was touched. That's too long. Blocking was horrendous, but he can't hold onto the football that long.
  14. I seem to recall the 3rd PS game in Marrone's glorious 2nd season was pretty hyped up. Clowns came in and whipped our butts in our own house.
  15. probably helps AJ's case the most. Has anyone hear d? Is he playing tomorrow?
  16. don't forget about AJ.
  17. are you new to NFL football? Is this your first rodeo? How much credit does Hotrod get for the good things he Did? Fitz? Flutie?
  18. What if Josh and Nasty Nate BOTH have had games?
  19. heads will explode and excuses will be made.
  20. I would disagree with this. The QB that has never played is usually the most popular guy on the team. Fans wanted Frank to start. Cowboy fans wanted Hogeboom to start. Bills fans wanted Nasty Nate to start last year .. On and on ...
  21. "The most important position is QB. The second most important position is backup QB. " --Joe Gibbs Nasty Nate will be a fine backup if he pulls a Thigpen (never plays).
  22. No. A fine backup is someone like Nick Foles or Earl Moral of Jeff Hostettler.
  23. No one that I know of. It was a hypothetical. Can a QB be inaccurate but throw for high completion % if all he throws is short and dump offs? What do you think?
