  1. If a man says something in the middle of a forest where no woman can hear it, is it still wrong?
  2. I would ride the Barkley horse until when/if we lose a game. Then if Allen is 100% heAlthy, put him back in.
  3. That's cool. But if you're a free agent WR and you have the chance to go to Atlanta or Seattle or New Orleans or San Diego and the money's + or - 10% are you gonna go to one of those teams or to the team that has a project that is "showing more pocket poise and better decision making along with throwing with more consistent mechanics, better timing, anticipation, accuracy, and touch."? that was my point. Beane is likely gonna have to do a great sales job, and overpay.
  4. We may have a little more money to spend, but unless Allen lights it up the last 6 games, "the uncertainty at quarterback" still holds true. Premium offensive talent, if it comes at all, will come at a premium.
  5. In every game I watch there are usually a few passes that could have been picked but aren't. Barkley is hardly unique in that regard. These guys are DBs and not WRs for a reason. I'm going to make a bold prediction. In tonight's game there will be 2 passes that could be intercepted that aren't. I don't have anything against Allen and I hope he is successful. but it would be nice to have a solid backup we can go to in case of injury or ineptitude on Josh's part. Putting all one's eggs in one basket is bad management pure and simple.
  6. Like a QB that was mediocre at best in college determined to be a "project" by most scouts and TBDers alike is not a one in a million type QB? Matt Barkley had the best game for a Bills QB in two years. Why put all our eggs in one bAsket?
  7. He put the football where only his guy could catch it. That's what they say when Drew Brees or Tommy or Big Ben do it. But when our guys do it luck? OK. Since when is pass like that lucky to have been caught? Looked more like skill to me. The man had a really good game especially by Bills QB standards. Why can't we just be happy with that?
  8. Yet somehow with Barkley as the man under, WR s WERE able to get separation AND catch the football ?.
  9. I'm going to say it probably feels a lot like it does for anyone when dreams die. Most of us I would think set our hearts on something and gave it our all as a young person only to come up short. It's happened to me a few times. sucks. But he's a smart guy with a college degree. He will find something else.
  10. I think we should sign him. He still has a fire in his belly. He has to get one more Lombardi to beatPeyton. Sign him and sign/draft a few WRs and with our D, we're there.
  11. It was dumb and I don't need hind sight to say it. I said it and the time.
  12. Until mathematically eliminated you go balls out for PLAYOFFS. Let the chips fall where they may.
  13. The yards thing is nice. but holding down the points would be better.
  14. Cut Nasty Nate Sign Colin Kaepernick and start him vs Chargers
  15. Yay. Shoulda been done 10 months ago. Better late (and 2 losses) than never I suppose.
  16. Which is something we didn't have before yesterday and team really needs. Ask the Eagles or SB XXV Giants or the El Perfecto Fish or The Greatest Show on Turf. The kid had a great game. Best by any Bills QB BY FAR since Hotrod left town. He gives us the BEST chance to. beat Coach Moron. Josh ain't going anywhere.
  17. I voted Barkley for 2 reasons. 1. He threw as many TD passes today as the other 3 combined. We need at least competent QB play for a while at least to determine if these WRs and Oline guys are any good. Today the WRs were able to get separation and catch the ball which they hadn't been so good at with the other guys. Protection seemed a little better. We need to develop them too. 2. I don't think Allen is ready. If Barkley can put a few more games like this together, it could be a good learning experience for Josh. Would also give him time to work on fundamentals which he dearly needs if he is ever to be good. When we get to the final few games if we are indeed out, then start Josh the last few games of the year. When he was in before it didn't look to me like he learned much and was likely developing bad habits with the pass rush etc.
  18. The lesson here is to not put too much emphasis on pre season games. Preseason doesn t mean nothing. It means less than nothing.
  19. the season starter is not nor has been injured this year. Only backups have been inured. Selecting Nasty Mate as starter falls squarely on the brain trust. didn't the Packers go through several QB s a few years ago? Rodgers and the first backup were injured early on. Then they brought in Seneca Wallace who was promptly injured. iN 2013 they started 4. In 2010, the Cowboys started Quincy Carter (8) / Anthony Wright (3) / Ryan Leaf (3) / Clint Stoerner (2) In 2015 the Cowboys started Matt Cassel (7) / Tony Romo (4) / Brandon Weeden (3) / Kellen Moore (2)
  20. Bills have the best stadium
  21. Barkley was pedestrian at best for the Bears IMHO. But ok. As to your other point yes and no. While it is important to develop Allen, there are also 10 other guys out there that need to be really good and do their job to win that need to be developed too was my point. If Alen is injured and can't play, we don't have to put everyone else's development on hold til he gets back. The NFL is full of cases where a team with a really good qb has not had regular sucess. Like the Chargers regularly missing the playoffs with Rivers under center. QB is THE most important position, but far from the ONLY position that matters.
  22. I'm gonna disagree with this a little bit. You may be right about the score part. However I thought the point of dumping vets was to start building the dynasty. Play young players to develop. Guys like Za y and Croom and the young Oline guys. How are we supposed to do that with inaccurate turn over machines at QB? Barkley has the same MO. At least AJ has had some success effectively running an NFL offense.
  23. Two of the great offensive minds in NFL history were known as defensive guys when hired. Tom Landry, player/DC for the Champion Giants. Bill Bellyache, DC of the Champion Giants. Marv Levy was HC of a really good offensive team who was a Special Teams Coordinator.
  24. These guys need to develop a sense of urgency.
