It's an absolute travesty that so little of this band's early live stuff was documented. This is kind of a goofy song on the surface, but what an amazing showcase for a live performance. Not saying this outpaces the peak of My Generation off 'Live at Leeds', but as one performance from one night of an almost unknown song... holy hedes, what a frickin live band: -

This is not a head-scratcher. Sure, quick and simple- pass a law requiring all portions to be within a minimum and maximum percentage of x miles of an agreed upon central district point. Voters in a series of fringe/overlapping blocks can vote to join District A, or District B. Districts will vary in size (x) based upon population density. B743A3EF-0B97-458B-979E-662B07A370ED.webp

Correct, we have to start somewhere. I'm all for what you proposed earlier, but nothing can realistically change as long as districts are drawn in such a way to allow the radicals on both sides to, A. Get voted in, and B. Have virtually unchallengeable job security. Gerrymandering is the root of that problem, and the incumbents sure as heck aren't going to voluntarily correct it. So that leaves it to us to either resist all 'feel-good' urges and stop voting the fringe idiots into power, or we need a 3rd, moderate, party to really take hold. It's a steep ***** mountain for a nation accustomed to Coke vs. Pepsi.

I guess this is a 'YIL'... So yesterday I found our (mostly indoor) male cat at the back door. He only goes out supervised for now (adolescent/siamese/fetches better than our dog/awesome cat!!), - I knew the only way he could be there was by jumping off our second story roof... which made me nervous until I looked up 'how far can a cat fall' maybe I'm the last person on the planet to know this, but apparently the odds are in a cat's favor to survive a fall from ANY height- as long as they have oxygen. Their terminal velocity is about 60 MPH, and if they land on a reasonable, non-jagged surface, their bodies stand a decent chance of absorbing the impact. -

Glad you enjoyed... and who doesn't love a rollicking-good Kenny Loggins volleyball song from time to time, but c'mon folks! Exercise those lima beans, it's not just a great volleyball song with a touching narrative, it's also the soundtrack to one of the most defining action movie sequences in history! -

The Serpent on Netflix is Very well done... gotta be able to handle some super-creepy, based on a true-story, stuff. good 70's feel, great writing/acting/soundtrack. Jenna Whatsherbucket is supercute and apparently the true story had to be tamed down a bit, as the creators felt it was too weird to be believable. -

On your first point, I can't seem to find the part about all men with current ID cards, can you? "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." If there is an accusation of fraud, it is incumbent upon the accuser to prove it, at least in the America I think I used to know... so where is any frickin' proof?? All I see are a bunch of pinata bats missing their mark. On Russian collusion, it's just mind-numbing that a (formerly) sitting President would not lead the charge to investigate potential influence by a foreign, hostile, nation. I guess that's acceptable to you...

I also think their drummer choices (Kenny 'timekeeper' Jones and Simon Phillips) were pretty odd considering their sound was based on a frenetic K. Moon style. Ringo's kid was a huuuuge return to normal- damn fine drummer.

It was the Quad tour- I got the year wrong- That show was as good as I ever could have hoped to see them in the post-Moon era!! Townshend's writing nearly single-handedly got me through my teen years, haha. It's weird discovering their early stuff as a teen, 20 years after the fact, and gravitating so heavily toward it. Once I heard the first bomb-drop of Armenia City, and everything of that era, I was just amazed at how it overpowered all the 80's crap... my generation was listening to. ) Good to hear Townser is still pulling out interesting takes on their music- he can definitely hold his own with the all-timers! (not to make you too jelly, but I've got a bunch of original presses/UK originals, Sealed original Live at Leeds, Moon's solo album, Entwhistle's solos- a couple sealed, bootlegs, etc. on vinyl. )

Kind of a funny phenomenon I've seen a few times is old rock bands sucking up a storm in middle age, then somehow getting better- not prime, but better- when they re-emerge as geezers. I remember the Who's Last 1982 tour radio broadcast as a kid, they were a shell of themselves. I saw them live in 1989... (1982 was not their last tour afterall!) and they were in some weird, boring, over-produced phase... then in 1994- they were Dang Good! Not Live at Leeds good, but still dang good, and back to their more stripped-down selves. The SB show was garbage and I haven't seen them since Entwhistle died, so no idea what they are about nowadays.

I mean, it's our duty in America to defend your right to believe whatever it is you want to believe, but when four ba-jillion lawsuits are brought, and laughably shot down by justices across this nation- of all political stripes, wouldn't ya think it's just maybe possible you're barking up a tree that was never really there?
