  1. SF bought its demise with the Willie Brown machine, and confirmed it with Gavin Newsom. Ed Lee, Rose Pak, and 'Shrimp Boy' were just the cherry on its titanic iceberg. It could've continued to be an innovative city, but it's just a stopover for the chophouse crowd. I lived there quite a while, and culturally its finest remaining assets are mediocre burritos in the 'Mish' at 2am - I can't think of decent local bands since American Music Club and Deerhoof (My apologies to those who sing Journey at karaoke). There's just an air of stupid over that town... from the 'broheims' and the well past their date hipsters, to the high-rise elder-in-training complexes in South Beach, the town is just a mess. The last bastion is maybe the Opera. It'll come back, because the area is just too stunning to play the fool for long, but its time is certainly not now. I guess 'What is Best City, Bro' is such a complex question. I like Portland, and lived here previously through what I consider its finest moments. I've moved back 17 years later and it's being built up, but I think it's in decline from what it once was. Is there a town with good country music left?
  2. I can't wait for the return of smart, ballsy, songwriting. The people living through the Dark Ages didn't realize they were living through the Dark Ages at the time, either:
  3. I saw the same poster on the old Bills message board going by SaviorEdwards with the same avatar. 22,000 posts of nothing but a waste of time. Don't allow it to rile ya, imo
  4. I just revised my last sentence haha. I said it, then thought I was wrong to call players who respect the rules and keep their head about them pussies. The Patriots* have forever earned their asterisks, and when they suck again, they'll suck with an asterisk until the end of football.
  5. Totally agree. Take my Patriots hate out of the equation, and I still totally agree. Gronkowski has no business playing another game this year at the very least. The Patriots get to play by another rulebook, however.
  6. 81 going on 29 mentally, as of a few weeks ago. It's the tumor, which is treatable, that is throwing her thinking off. She's not a lawyer, but a month ago she would've been sharp enough to argue a case before the Supreme Court(family joke) Despite her age, the Doc's assured they wouldn't pull any punches, treatment-wise.
  7. She's in the the best care possible I believe. The main issue is she doesn't understand (or believe us, her family) that her tumor is treatable, so she's retreating into a darker place than she really should be, which is compromising her health. Just wondering if someone has gone through something similar and maybe had learned anything they could pass along. Sorry for a topic darker than our Bills, thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers, and no JJ, she's quite the opposite of a drama queen... that's part of the problem haha
  8. Alright, old people. Candid Camera with Alan Funt was pretty dang good. and you'll think of allen funt with your pud in your hand in your last moments.
  9. Hi all, where else to ask for advice but on the boards of the dumbest sports fans in, well, the history of our modern problems. ) My mom has been recently diagnosed with a non-operable lymphoma in the lower back side of her brain which has migrated, apparently, through a fluid path from the right to left sides. It is, in and of itself, staying within its boundaries, though growing,, but it's also causing a lack of appetite, and worse her motivation from just a couple weeks ago has gone significantly down. We got the best news possible from the biopsy, but it's like she's on a hunger strike because in her mind, 'She's Finished' ... but she's not, but if she keeps it up she could be. If you know it, it's treatable, but she doesn't get that in her current state... she thinks she's done and is on a hunger strike of sorts. We just need to keep her strong enough for the treatments to begin, but she's being a martyr... If anyone is familiar with anything like this, any input is appreciated. Patrick
  10. 3 !@#$ing points against the worst pass defense in the NFL, and we can't figure out how to confuse them into the situations we want? Yeah, that coach is a dimwit.
  11. Even the 70's Raiders pulled their bull **** ON the field. The play was over... even in the 70's. That dude has absolutely no historical context to back his bull **** up. People want to anoint Belichick the greatest ever. He's not. His players don't GET the game of football, never have. It doesn't matter how much that !@#$ UNDERSTANDS all the rules, he'll never understand the spirit of the game. Belichick is a thinking man's dimwit in the grand text. That !@#$ fosters this ****. PERIOD
  12. Here's a fun one. Would Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman still be alive if the Bills had WON some of those SB's? OJ was spotted wearing his Bills uni this past Holloween, so obviously he ties himself to this team. Maybe the losses were the straws that broke the juice box?
  13. I know this is a strange concept, but it's nice to see we're at 5-4, in a throwaway year, and our coaching staff is not satisfied
  14. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but Marino had the quickest release, and was the best football thrower I've ever seen. Montana has the rings.
  15. Fun thought. Landry tried it in the 70's with Craig Morton and Roger Staubach. Of course, those were both SB level QB's, as they ended up playing against each other in SB XII.
  16. Yeah Jauronimo. If you have to explain it, it isn't a joke!
  17. If the networks were NFL affiliates, sure, that'd be great. Not having the numbers in front of me, I'd imagine the viewership could not pay for the revenue loss of the regular primetime programming, as well as the advertising nationalized which would normally belong to the individual affiliate's sales departments.
  18. That boy is a P-I-G And I agree with every word Where is Jerry Markbright, and that ref who used to call Hoding Where's Pat Summerall, Don Criqui and Merlin Olson Seriously, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are the top duo on the NFC network??? Between the rules, the refs and the announcers, the game's lost its personality. ... or at least strangled it pretty hard.
  19. He's not fitting in. If only there was a way to get our 3rd and 7th back.
