  1. Don't know where 619 got the details, but it certainly wasn't nba.com- he's a blameless victim on that website: "As a highly-regarded prep player from Boston, Clarke played the 2020-21 season at Kentucky, then announced he was turning professional after his freshman year and immediately began training for the next level. Just months later, he was gone, a victim in a fatal single-passenger car accident in the Los Angeles area in April." The wording even sounds like they're trying very hard to cover the details. https://www.nba.com/news/nba-honors-late-draft-prospect-terrence-clarke%3famp=1
  2. Amazing vertical and catch radius, but posted zero on the bench.
  3. North Buff, yours is a very thoughtful response. The problem is that you are trying to use rational arguments with people who actively seek out mis-information, and wear the rejection of science and reason as a badge of honor. As a kid we learned about, 'The Dark Ages' and 'The Enlightenment.' My young self, even going to Catholic school, could never imagine people aligning themselves with the dark ages... with pride, no less... but here we are.
  4. Someone needs to open covid lounges- it'd be like an oxygen bar for dip-*****.
  5. You seem to be a bit slow to the concept of a fan message board. Some people are gonna be, ya know, fans.

  7. Love it- Another great live vehicle they had during that era is 'Water.' (But I don't want to turn this into a Who Live thread haha) and NO WAY am I gonna interrupt a Billy Joel lovefest. )
  8. It's an absolute travesty that so little of this band's early live stuff was documented. This is kind of a goofy song on the surface, but what an amazing showcase for a live performance. Not saying this outpaces the peak of My Generation off 'Live at Leeds', but as one performance from one night of an almost unknown song... holy hedes, what a frickin live band:
  9. Kinda reminds me of back when a pedestrian or cyclist would look both ways before entering a street full of 3,600 pound vehicles doing 44mph.
  10. Jeebus, I wrote a sentence, not an essay. If the world can create a soccer ball with its multiple geometric patterns, I'm sure we can figure this one out. Why not just say you're in favor of gerrymandering🧐
  11. This is not a head-scratcher. Sure, quick and simple- pass a law requiring all portions to be within a minimum and maximum percentage of x miles of an agreed upon central district point. Voters in a series of fringe/overlapping blocks can vote to join District A, or District B. Districts will vary in size (x) based upon population density. B743A3EF-0B97-458B-979E-662B07A370ED.webp
  12. Correct, we have to start somewhere. I'm all for what you proposed earlier, but nothing can realistically change as long as districts are drawn in such a way to allow the radicals on both sides to, A. Get voted in, and B. Have virtually unchallengeable job security. Gerrymandering is the root of that problem, and the incumbents sure as heck aren't going to voluntarily correct it. So that leaves it to us to either resist all 'feel-good' urges and stop voting the fringe idiots into power, or we need a 3rd, moderate, party to really take hold. It's a steep ***** mountain for a nation accustomed to Coke vs. Pepsi.
  13. I'm not sure any of that is possible as long as our voting districts are grotesquely gerrymandered.
  14. You NEED this! https://www.ebay.com/itm/303654305411
  15. With the webbed feet they can probably sky-surf too! Where's the Pegula jet!!
  16. I guess this is a 'YIL'... So yesterday I found our (mostly indoor) male cat at the back door. He only goes out supervised for now (adolescent/siamese/fetches better than our dog/awesome cat!!), - I knew the only way he could be there was by jumping off our second story roof... which made me nervous until I looked up 'how far can a cat fall' maybe I'm the last person on the planet to know this, but apparently the odds are in a cat's favor to survive a fall from ANY height- as long as they have oxygen. Their terminal velocity is about 60 MPH, and if they land on a reasonable, non-jagged surface, their bodies stand a decent chance of absorbing the impact.
  17. Glad you enjoyed... and who doesn't love a rollicking-good Kenny Loggins volleyball song from time to time, but c'mon folks! Exercise those lima beans, it's not just a great volleyball song with a touching narrative, it's also the soundtrack to one of the most defining action movie sequences in history!
  18. The Serpent on Netflix is Very well done... gotta be able to handle some super-creepy, based on a true-story, stuff. good 70's feel, great writing/acting/soundtrack. Jenna Whatsherbucket is supercute and apparently the true story had to be tamed down a bit, as the creators felt it was too weird to be believable.
  19. Ha! We barely squeaked by the winless '76 Bucs
  20. I still have no idea what this song was all about- was it a Chubby Checker dance craze hopeful that involved rubber-bands... I may never know, but Live, it's a blast, and I love all of the backup singers: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jte7Jhii4e0
