  1. Maybe if you didn't yell at them, you'd have better success. Remember you get more bees with sugar than with vinegar...or something stupid like that.
  2. The stories coming out in the last week or so say that ST will continue to be priced in the $300-400 range because the local networks are worried no one is going to be watching whatever game they have on. For example, here in the DC area, the local Fox station, which primarily airs the Commanders (still a terrible name BTW) does not want people tuned into the game of their choice via whatever platform ST is on. Therefore, the NFL will price out all but those who can afford ST. What's become clear in the last week or so, is that the NFL does not want everyone to have ST. They want fans to watch whatever game/team is being force fed them on the LOCAL network. Sure, they'll take $3 billion from Apple/Amazon/Disney/whoever to sell ST, and they'll get it, but the local networks bitching to the NFL about ST has led to an artificial price point not based on supply and demand but based on protecting the local networks/markets.
  3. I know I'm in the minority but I'm not a fan of Big Ears. He talks over the game announcers too much...all he needs to do is say what game they're going to and shut up. I find him annoying most times and especially when he does halftime highlights when there are other games going on live.
  4. Just move Presidents' Day to the Monday after the Super Bowl. I remember as a kid, we got Lincoln's birthday AND Washington's birthday off, then the feds combined the two and the current holiday now seems to be closer to Washington's birthday. Let's remember Abe also and put it more in the middle of the month, closer to the Super Bowl.
  5. None of the sports media outlets I follow are reporting this. Source?
  6. I get that, but there's considerable lag time between streamed live sports and sports being broadcast by satellite, cable or over-the-air.
  7. Yup, as predicted, but how they fix the lag...sometimes more than 10 seconds...is going to be key.
  8. I remember this game well, with the Bills going 5-0 with the big win and Rod Kush having the game of his life, before he unfortunately got hurt, putting him out for the rest of the year. Disgusting that the Chargers are no longer in San Diego. Spanos stinks.
  9. I've said it a hundred times...I'm convinced Tom Olivadotti still wakes up in the middle of the night screaming Thurman Thomas' name.
  10. Reminds me of 1991 actually...the hype then was intense but of course we didn't have social media and the plethora of other media outlets to fuel the flames.
  11. I was working on Capitol Hill that day, as the House was taking the vote in support of the imminent combat activities...thank you for your service. Had to go back and forth on the office TV between CSPAN and the game.
  12. As the old adage goes, there's not a bad seat in the house.
  13. The all-day rain was all I remember from this game as well. It was the worst weather game I've ever been to.
  14. Jeeziz, I remember that...I began to feel physically ill during the return.
  15. Yup, Nate Clements went for the INT. A few plays beforehand, the Bills had a game clinching first down wiped out by a phantom holding penalty. We were in the endzone the Jags scored the winning TD...a lot of expletives flying leaving the Ralph on a very sunny and hot day.
  16. All good, and bad, choices listed. For best season openers I was at, I'd have to list 1980 Fish, 1981 Jets, 1988 Vikings, 1991 Fish. Worst openers I was at: 2004 Jags, 1994 Jets, 1997 Vikings, 2018 Ravens.
  17. I'll give you the occasional good episodes like the Marine Biologist and the Soup Nazi but watching some of the reruns, most post season three are unwatchable. But that's just me.
  18. Like most sit-coms, Seinfeld peaked at season three and started the steep descent into obscurity. See also MASH, Modern Family, Happy Days, Cheers, etc. I think the only one that stayed great was Barney Miller. The cast changed a bit, but it always kept its edge.
  19. Saw an article last week that said that DTV may be an "outlet" for ST for who wins the contract, i.e. Apple, with the proceeds funneled to the rights holder. Would apply to homes, bars, restaurants. But who the hell really knows at this point, it's pure speculation. One sad irony is that I think the days of calling for a discount will be over. Try calling Apple or Amazon or ESPN to get a "discount" starting next season. And with the $300-400 price point, aimed at discouraging middle-class fans and keeping the local networks happy, I hope we can pay on a per-game basis...but again, who knows right now.
  20. The Bills usually keep some tickets back for potential season tickets. Even with the wait list, they're advertising that seasons are still available: https://www.buffalobills.com/tickets/season-tickets After the first preseason game, you'll see some seats open up.
  21. Well, got the email yesterday saying I'm getting ST Max for free this year...so my annual August haggle call won't need to happen. BTW, I'm not an AT&T cell subscriber, I'm a 22 year DTV customer and get the minimum programming package. Praying that you all get the same email soon, especially @nucci
  22. I was there and I've told this story before...we watched that play from the ramp, looking for a quick getaway. Hooks scores, the place goes wild, and I see a dozen guys burst out of the bathroom, to see what the commotion was all about...some with their pants down around their ankles!
  23. I take a men's daily multi-vitamin and a separate vitamin D tablet.
  24. The first two minutes of this...wow, just wow! If this doesn't get you fired up, the pilot light is out!
