What are your favorite Sports Documentaries?
Ned Flanders replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
Using this as a template, in no particular order and I'm sure I'll forget a few... 1. Ken Burns Baseball 2. 30 for 30: Requiem for the Big East 3. 30 for 30: The Baltimore Colts Marching Band 4. HBO: When it Was a Game 5. 30 for 30: I Hate Christian Laetnner 6. HBO: Unitas 7. 30 for 30: Steve Bartman 8. Showtime: Full Color Football, the History of the AFL (all segments available on YouTube, highly recommend) 9. HBO: Lombardi 10. HBO: The Brooklyn Dodgers BTW, cannot watch Four Falls of Buffalo...I lived through it and while I admire that team and recognize their greatness, it's simply too painful to consider sitting down and watching it. -
It's Miami week! *BONUS HAIKU*

Tua, Teddy, or Skylar Does it matter? I wish it was colder -
I just made my call to Directv to end our long term relationship
Ned Flanders replied to Xwnyer's topic in Off the Wall
Making the call sometime this week as well...been with them since 2000. With their monthly bill at $122, with no add-on channels, there's no justification to stay with them, Going with YouTubeTV at almost half the cost. -
So, if I flip this TV the bird, the Patriots game suddenly comes on?

I remember Chuck Hughes of Detroit suffering heart failure during a game against Chicago in 1971. He died hours later at the hospital. I hope to think that medical science has advanced in the last 50 years to the point that Hamlin is still alive and can recover from this trauma.

Schefter said a couple of times that he's never seen an ambulance on the field, then later he seemed to backtrack. I know it doesn't happen often, but we've seen ambulances on the field before (think Kevin Everett for one). Booger certainly carried the broadcast.

About five years ago, before the AT&T takeover, they wouldn't give me a break on ST, so I said, that's it, I'm out. They conceded and said they would send me boxes, etc. to send back equipment. The next day, DTV rep calls crying for me to come back, offered a big monthly discount, free ST, and a $300 gift card. I said, fine...I was out but they dragged me back in. Couple of days later, boxes arrived and it took several calls to straighten out the account. Why they just couldn't work with me in the first place was baffling.

Morse and Basham Out For Chicago Game
Ned Flanders replied to Robert James's topic in The Stadium Wall
We may get away without Morse in Chicago, but he'd be a tremendous loss if he can't play in Cincinnati.- 55 replies

A couple of questions that will need to be ironed out before September: Will Red Zone be included in the new ST? YTTV now has Red Zone but it's part of a premier add-on package. Will there be college student discounts available as is now the case with DTV? Will games be available ala-carte? This sounds less likely given the preliminary information we've gotten today.

About a month ago, I was talking to my brother while he was watching the Bills game locally on YTTV and I was watching the game via ST here in Virginia. I was about a play ahead of him at the time...I yelled when the Bills intercepted and he hadn't yet seen the play. A couple of weeks ago when the Bills were on Amazon, I had to watch the first few minutes on my phone, got back to the house and the phone was more than a play ahead of the TV...weird.

Unlike @nucci, I got ST free this year, but still pay about $125 a month for DTV, with no other add-on channels. YouTube TV is about $65/month with most of the channels I need other than History and MASN. The $60/month I'll save should easily pay for the new ST package. Making the DTV "cancel call" the day after the season ends, but I think there will quite a wait to get a customer service rep.

DirecTV customer service reps will miss @nucci

Washington Has 1 Heck of a Back Field !!

I'm in the DC area...Robinson is good, Gibson is not. -
Gifts are meant to be opened Christmas morning.

Was just listening to 70s on 7 on SiriusXM and these two classics came on...haven't heard either in quite some time.
-
Nothing changes. Saturday's slate of games NOT nationally or locally televised are on ST.
-
Sadly, this will never happen. Even though the NFL makes billions off ST, they'd rather have you watch the game broadcast OTA in your area and, due to pressure from network affiliates, for you to consume the local commercials. The NFL turns a blind eye toward ST, they don't have to do anything but cash Amazon's or Google's checks each season, smile and say "Have a nice day."
