Totally agree. He may have a good defense if he ever comes back and win a few games, but he's been on the sidelines for a long time. Could he come back and do well? Maybe, but he would need a bright offensive mind on his staff
Jeez. No wonder he struggled so much.
Yes and no. If a coach is trying to allow leaders to step forward, which Marrone has said he would prefer, it makes sense to let them police themselves.
I'm sure it was more lackadaisical than not trying
Nobody needs to concede that. Plenty of game tape showing this guy just doesn't have it. Careless with the football, thin skinned , flips off fans, questionable leadership skills.
Would you follow him into battle? I wouldn't
True. I just don't buy it.
This seems like a story to generate headlines. Clowney hasn't been the dude espn told us he would be, so uhhhh Texans frustrated
Hard not to root for this kid. I went back through some of the early games in the season and you see EJ hesitating. His reads are fine when you watch the tape, but he was late. If he can learn to trust himself and his talent he could be very good.
Pulling him was a gutsy move but it has proven to be the right one thus far
Like last year when they went toe to toe with Belicheck with Thad Freaking Lewis? Or Andy Reid with Jeff Tuel?
Or that time they totally out coached Super Bowl winning coach John Harbaugh?
People love to knock this staff, but we are 5-3 and a resilient bunch. Every coach that gets to this level knows the X's and O's. Few can keep the team level headed and overcome adversity. Thats the difference between this staff and other staffs we've had
