Another thing that boggles my mind is that the Bills called timeouts before each of those plays in the last 13 seconds. Before the start of the first play, Edmunds, Milano and one of the safeties were 15 yards back from the LOS. The other safety was at the Bills 45, 30 yards from the LOS. Just before the snap, the CBs also moved back close to 15 yards. I think they were scared to have T. Hill get another long TD to win the game. Playing back so far, they were fortunate Hill only got 19 yards. I looked back at the previous Chiefs drive and the Bills had tight coverage, so good that Mahomes couldn’t find anybody open on the first couple plays. Then came the cross that Hill took to the house. Before the 2nd play, the Bills back 7 defenders seemed to have moved up about 5 yards from the previous play. Kelce runs straight ahead between defenders and Milano tries to catch up to him. Luckily Wallace just got a hand on his foot to bring him down. The other Bills defenders then converged. Having now watched that play a bunch of times, the Bills could’ve just grabbed Kelce and the clock would’ve run out. You can’t fault Wallace for making the tackle though. Tony Romo questioned why the Bills were rushing 4. One of them was Addison at left end. He started to rush, then backed up and there were no Chiefs around so his presence was a waste. On such a crucial play, I just don’t get why they didn’t double Kelce and T.Hill. Let them try to beat you with their less talented players going one-on-one. As he often does, Romo saw the play before it happened with how the Bills were lined up and called it.

Yes, both a CB and safety with speed. If Hyde is not brought back when he’s a free agent, take a year to groom his replacement. Might also add a young speedy LB who can also help improve the rush defense. Regarding Edmunds, he does seem to be a poor fit as a MLB in a 4-3. I think he could be a better fit inside or outside in a 3-4 where his slow recognition would be less of an issue. I saw the lowlight of the T.Hill score again. While he ran away from Hyde, Poyer and Wallace, Milano caught him at the goal line.

I remember watching the 2018 draft with friends and another Bills fan standing next to me when the Bills took Allen. Neither of us were too excited about that choice.

And what the Niners and Cowboys both did back then was draft and hit free agency with beating the other. They would even steal each other’s key free agents. Now, we can say that the Bills did approach their roster construction to beat KC by having LBs that are good in pass coverage but we saw how that unit failed when there were physical opponents who ran the ball well. As has already been frequently mentioned, the defense needs more speed. There aren’t many humans as fast as Tyreek Hill but you have to at least be close. I love our safety tandem but they have shown to be not fast enough. I thought Edmunds was an athletic freak. I didn’t see him running players down from behind much.

Of course he owned it. He repeatedly said “It’s on me.” I respect that more than someone like Arians criticizing Brady’s play.

I had visions of Music City Miracle so at the time I was happy it was a touchback. I figured then it would come down to a Hail Mary (which would then bring up memories of Hail Murray). I didn’t even imagine getting 45 yards the way they did in 10 seconds. I’ve watched those plays over several times. The first pass to Hill was executed well by the Chiefs with blockers in front of him and after what he did earlier, the Bills did good to hold him to what he gained. Then, the pass to Kelce was mind boggling. There were 3 Bills in the area and he just easily ran into the middle of them. What kind of defense was that?

Of course, Mahomes could’ve then run it and got a bunch of yards, which would’ve taken time off clock. Just a tough team to defend and IIRC they still had all 3 timeouts.

Maybe another team will make the decision for the Bills. We also don’t know how much McD influenced the late defensive calls. Romo was right questioning why they were rushing four. Even with that, you have 5 O-linemen plus Mahomes, leaving 5 receivers. The Bills had 7 defending the pass. How do you not double Kelce, who had 2 big catches on that late FG drive?

Yes, they lack speed on defense. My fellow old timers should remember the Redskins Darrell Green. He ran like a 4.2 40. Even if he was on the other side of the field, he’d run down ball carriers and prevent TDs. Sure, Tyreke Hill is unique but we had several big plays against this defense where other ball carriers outran our defenders to the end zone. I love our safeties but they aren’t fast enough (Hyde’s INT last week an exception).

Hyde looks very confident in fielding punts. Why do you think he usually ends up grabbing onside kicks? It’s the hands!

In last week’s playoff game, his own player couldn’t see a pass being thriwn to him because the sun was in his eyes. I’m sure Jerry influenced the stadium design also. Good job, Jerry!

Did we think Allen was going to be this good after his first 2 years? I know I didn’t. I’m convinced that the main reason Allen became the player he is, is due to his work ethic. He credits Jordan Palmer with being a big help but supposedly Darnold is there with him in the off-season and we haven’t seen the same growth with Darnold. I’m not saying Daboll and Dorsey haven’t helped but it seems to come down to Josh taking in all the input he gets, applying it and making himself a better player. Word has been that Carson Wentz tends to not apply suggestions to his game, and even when he does, he eventually regresses back to bad habits. So, at the same time that Josh has made himself a great player, other young QBs like Goff, Trubisky, Wentz, Darnold , Jones , Mayfield have either not improved much or have regressed.

During the season, there is always talk about coaches sleeping in their offices. It is not a 9 to 5 job. You would think they’d spend even more time preparing for a playoff game in Kansas City. Preparing for and taking part in an interview DOES take away valuable time.

Jones had an 80 yard run last season. He didn’t score as he got tripped by a yard line.

You must not have seen the Bill & Bill documentary (Belechick and Parcells) nor the Top 100 players shows. He was a different person.
