That really sucks. The nation was looking so forward to the Jets beating down their B word, the Bills.

Several ways to look at this. First thing I'll say is this... LA has demonstrated NOT to be a viable NFL market... not once, but twice. They can build a stadium if they want. And all the Hollywood crowd can buy lux suites and the game cameras can always cut to the stars waving in their cushy suites. But at the end of the day the stadium will not have been filled and fan interest just aint there. If LA wants a team, they don't need to wait for the Bills. Oakland or SanDiego...can stake their claim now. And, you want to talk about teams that are ripe for moving... why has everyone stopped talking about the Jaguars? Jax is about as low as it gets on the totem pole for fan base. Even when Coughlin was coaching and the Jags were good, they couldn't sell out. Now a new owner... and he wants to make a buck Go move to LA Shad... go get that gold. As far as any other venue besides LA... where are the Bills gonna go? San Antonio? Nyet! Toronto? Right... great football town, eh? Just where are the Bills gonna garner more interest? Within the next three years, WNY will be humming, or at least beginning to hum economically. Why would I say something stupid like that? Frack baby Frack! Hydrofracking is coming to a place near you. It is a done deal and the natural gas boom will be 'game on'..; and as early as this year. Oh, you can argue of all the bans that the local communities have placed on fracking, but it doesn't mean squat. State Law trumps all that... and right now the state law is going to win out. So, by 2015, a few years into the new lease and new ownership looming. Why would a a new owner want to bolt and leave all that economic viability on the table and move to some other venue? Doesn't make sense. The fan base is there and always has been... the money just hasn't been right because of the economics. Well, when the WNY economy gets going again shortly and the new owner makes a bank deposit of $150M for the the old Ralph to be named "NYSEG FIELD" or some othe natural gas company, those pundits that have been spewing for years about the Bills moving can kiss my big fat ass.

Buddy gonna have a lotta splainin to do.... 1) If'n he drafts a QB with the Bills top pick and doesn't start him right out of the gate 2) If'n he doesn't start him out of the gate, why'd he pick a QB that can't play that high? Glennon is a return to Bledsoe. He's a statue. I don't have a problem with his lack of mobility... if he has a fast brain and from the time he accurately reads and process the defense, the ball get's out of his hand in a nano second. Marino, Fouts, Warner didn't have mobility either. But they had pocket presence and they got rid of the ball quickly and accurately.

Chan is a great coach...if he gets a great QB
Dr. Trooth replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan wouldn't know what the hell to do with a good QB. Don't believe me? Ask Troy Aikman. -
Dude... your understanding of the Bills Orgainization is a mess. All GMs rely on their Player Personnel nad College Scouting depts. to bring talent to their organization. The Dir. of Player Personnel's (Whaley, before his recent promotion) job, among other things, to keep a dosier on every damn player aroung the league, just like the Dir. of College Scouting gets all the data and scouting reports on college players for prospective draft and or free agency. So, the GM goes to Whaley when he needs to bring in a player with pro experience to fill a position of need. Whaley having this up to the minute file/info/scouting reports, etc. on all pro players regardless if they are on or off a roster or practice squad brings the GM the list of the specific type player he thinks best fits the GMs request and provides his input/recommendation. The GM does the deal based on that information and his own gut feeling. Buddy don't scout much, if at all ,anymore... he couldn't possibly do that as GM.

What Hasn't Changed In 13 Seasons

Ribec and Carpenter. They gotta go. -
Dude... Tarvaris is a waste of time. He's been on three teams now in his career. He's started on two of those teams and in both cases the coaching staff opted for rookies, and in Seattle's case, the 2nd top QB in FA as well. The third team brought him in for one reason, to compete with Tyler Frickin Thigpen for a backup job. Jackson, apparently, hasn't done s#it to even beat out Thigpen for the # 2, let alone get a shot at #1. Tarvaris has been in the damn league for 7 seasons and has probably logged over 4000 snaps. I'm certain... no, make that GUARANTEE, that the Bills and 31 other teams in the NFL have enough video footage and scouting reports on Jackson to make a good decision on whether he has it or doesnt have it. Two games left and start a QB with marginal talent and that's gonna be a FA after the season? WTF? Where do people come up with this s#it? On a side note regarding Jackson. Back in early Sept. Buddy says to the dude in charge of pro player personnel (then Doug Whaley), fetch me a backup QB, I'll give up a sixth and mayber higher. Whaley delivers Jackson? WTF? That's what you got Whaley? And there are actually fans clamouring for this guy to be GM? I guess Whaley, being the good soldier he is, closely adhered to the OBD motto on this one.... "Dare to be Adequate". Oh, Jeesuz... Can we see those two 80 yard bombs to Lee Evans that JP Losman threw against the Texans a few years ago???? Big Damn Deal.

Looks like even Chis Brown has tanked thes season. This from his BB Blog. "Bills CB Stephon Gilmore is 14-games into his rookie season. And he’s holding up well. He’s regularly assigned the opponent’s best cornerback, and he’s on the field for almost all of Buffalo’s defensive plays." Geez... with the Bills thin at WR, must be Gilmore is getting snaps at wr now.

One must be mindful that no young, or up and coming, coaching candidate would ever consider taking the Bills HC job. The current situation is a setup for failure... right out of the gate. That's why Ralph hires retreads or HCs that stand zero chance of getting an HC job elswhere. They've got nothing to lose and after their HC failure with the Bills will always find employment in the NFL as a position coach or coordinator. The Donahoe era was the last time that young or up and coming HC candidates would take that job. Then the word got out that if you wanna coach the Bills there are contraints and caveats that only a coach that has nothing to lose would consider. Up and comers don't want to risk the chance of being on NFL HC job and done nad resovled to assistant caoch status for the rest of their NFL coaching career. Think Lane Kiffen or Josh McDaniel will ever get NFL consideration after theri fiascos in Oakland and Denver? The other thing to consider, given the state of the Bills, is in selecting an HC, who is out there with serious cred in taking over a s#it mess and turning it into win mode? There's no one out their except for big namers with a winning track record... that don't happen to be on Ralph's list. Ralph can't handle being challenged by an HC. He's old school and it's his way or no way.

Ur gonna hate em worser on Sunday.

Aint a QB in the universe that stands a chance with the Jets as long as Sparano is the OC. Sparano may be able to coach an offensive line (debateable), but as an OC or HC, the dude is a joke... bigtime.

Here is how I assess this coach and gm
Dr. Trooth replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let,s get real here. Buddy & Chan came in here, immediately switched to the 3-4 and added personnel (drafts and FA) to do so. The second year of the 3-4 switch Buddy & Chan bring in Wanny, a career loser, to help Edwards and it goes to a hybrid BS defense... essentially rinning a 5-2-4 with five DL (2 disguised as OLBs). Which by the way goes against all the "continuity" bulls#it that Buddy just fed you. Then Edwards gets canned, deservedly so, but instead of getting a competent 3-4 guru in here as DC (for the sake of continuity) they hold on to Wanny to switch back to the 3-4.... and in doing so, have to bring in two 4-3 DEs at the cost of $125M to do so (for the sake of continuity). Meanwhile the 24th ranked defense is still where it's been the past 5-6 seasons....ranked in the bottom 25 % of the league (for the sake of continuity). To boot, every damn year OBD rationalizes their bad behavior to you (for the sake of continuity) and you buy it hook, line, and sinker every damn time. Anyone who buys their crap and believes they're making positive forward steps in winning football games is seriously cognitively challenged. -
Eric Wood: "Toronto series is a joke"
Dr. Trooth replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, Eric Wood thinks the Toronto series is a joke. Well, there are at least four other NFL teams that think the Toronto series is absolutely wonderful. Hey Eric.... when you win it aint a joke, is it? -
Urbik agrees to contract extension
Dr. Trooth replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did I say that? I question the $$$ for 2 reasons...1, he's never played a full season, 2, he aint a $4m caliber lineman... Alan Faneca he aint. -
Urbik agrees to contract extension
Dr. Trooth replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone needs to convince me some other team was gonna pay Urbick that kind of money. Oops must be continuity. -
[closed]On record, in favor of, continuity
Dr. Trooth replied to HamSandwhich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for chiming in,Ralph. You can retain Chan and Buddy for the sake of continuity. However, hopefully 30,000 fans will withold judgement (and ticket purchases) until we see some serious dubyas... and against teams that matter. -
Ah yes... another in house lemming promotion. Really, WTF has Whaley done to bring this team any dubyas? Most every veteran free agent brought into this organization over the past 5-6 years is compliments of him. GM says go find me some boys and he dives right to the bottom of the dumpster. How's that been working out? The problem of the Bills promoting from within is that by the time one has several years in the Bills organization and then is promoted, they are so toxic from being contaminated by an organization that's motto is "Dare to be Adequate", that there is no way in hell they can, or will, make any significant contribution that will translate to wins. No freakin way.

Urbik agrees to contract extension
Dr. Trooth replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I read into this is the Bills may have resolved they're gonna lose Levitre because he's probably the premiere LG on the FA market. If they're gonna pay Urbik almost $4m/yr. then Levitre has to be worth double that. I don't know what the Bills cap situation for 2013 is, but if they were to franchise Levitre, it would consume a considerable amount of cap space that they would have to have available at the time they franchise him. Not a good situation... he was to only o lineman not to miss a single game in four years.... and starting from day one. He's played every position except RT. He's gonna want more than Logan Mankins money.
