  1. Hope we trade down and get an extra 7th.
  2. The deepest WR draft if recent history and here we stand.
  3. No. You waited 2 days.
  4. Look at it this way guys. We did a trade with the Chiefs and sent them Worthy. In return, we got this guy and moved up in the 6th round. Does this make you happy?
  5. Has a defenseman been chosen yet? I’m starting to think BPA may be on defense. The WR position will remain deep.
  6. It was the right move. Did anyone think Cousins was going to get them anything but a string of 9 win seasons? This gives them a QB to groom before Cousins flames out. QB purgatory is real. This was probably there best chance of getting a top 10 pick for awhile.
  7. Exactly. I don’t want to stay up all night waiting for 28. I got work tomorrow.
  8. Pretty much. We have a 44-page thread about the Bills rumored to be trying to move up in the first to pick a WR. Anyone, their sister or their cat knows this to be a fact, but somehow it garners so much discussion.
  9. In hindsight, we all know what we are doing.
  10. The first sentence is saying you should not draft based on need, but you should get that in a FA. Then are you saying that you really didn’t “need” that player that has been providing their service for the last 4 years? It’s the first sentence that is the horrible take. You obviously need to draft based on need. Beane does it with his 1st/2nd round picks each year. Is he wrong?
  11. Horrible take. If you need to wait 4+ years to get quality contribution from your draft choices, your drafting must suck. This isn’t the NHL or baseball. In the salary cap era, draft picks needs to contribute by their 2nd year, if not their rookie season.
  12. What I would like to see is how many of those players ended up having worse draft grades by staying in school an extra year. There’s a lot of money lost if they would’ve went in the 1st, but ended up being drafted in the 2nd. The idiom is penny wise, but pound foolish. That said, at least they got their diploma.
  13. There’s no way Beane trades back. That’s not his MO. What will happen is he’ll trade up a few spots and say that the guy taken was the only guy left with a 1st round grade by them.
  14. Yeah, I’m not liking that either. Usually teams give up a pick in the same round, plus a sweetener. For example, for a 2nd, I would give up next year’s 2nd and a 4th or a 5th. What I would rather do is give up a 4th or 5th (or whatever the value chart says) and our 2024 2nd to move up to the first few picks of the 2nd. Maybe the Giants would do it.
  15. Because you just don’t get it. It doesn’t matter who drafted Sammy. The risk still remains. Josh Allen will be 28 when the season starts. You would like to blow our load on hope. Hope isn’t a sound strategy. What happens after 2-3 years when we realize the guy is a bust? That’s 2-3 more years of Josh down the drain. Due to Allen’s contract, this team has holes and will always need to plug them via the draft. If you want to mortgage our future, do it on proven players. Otherwise, draft a couple WR in the 1st and 2nd. Leave next year’s picks alone.
  16. Two words: Josh Allen He’d otherwise be middle of the road.
  17. Read again please. “It’s a cautionary illustration that trading a bunch of draft picks for a non-QB draft pick is very risky.”
  18. It’s not my money, nor is it yours. As we have seen with this offseason, many things can be done. We all thought we would buried by the cap this offseason. That didn’t happen. Next, we thought Diggs could never be traded. It happened. Acquiring Auyik is likely possible. You would need to extend and restructure the contract to get the breathing room for this year and backload it to next year. It’s just that if we draft a bust, we’ll be in trouble. Our FO has no track record for identifying great WRs. Allen is in his prime and want something more definitive.
  19. Sammy didn’t blow up the league when he left. He was only a Bill for 3 seasons. But this really isn’t about Sammy Watkins. It’s a cautionary illustration that trading a bunch of draft picks for a non-QB draft pick is very risky. It’s pertinent to now because WR busts are not that infrequent.
  20. People are soon to forget what happened with Sammy Watkins. We only moved up only 5 spots and gave up the following year’s 1st and a 4th. And he was basically a bust. Everyone panned Whaley for this move. Now, fast forward to 2024 and we are talking about trading an even higher number of picks for an unproven player. We can’t afford to experiment. Go after a proven player.
  21. I’m not in favor of using that much draft capital to move up to 6. What if he’s a bust and we blew this year’s 1st, next years 1st, and probably a 2nd rounder? Would rather use the 1st we have or the 2025 2nd to acquire Aiyuk. He’ll be expensive, but look at it as bust insurance paid. The draft is deep at WR. Move up in the 2nd if needed. Would be a lot cheaper.
  22. Most importantly, does this guy show up in the postseason?
  23. Agreed. Very weird development. Stay a bb player. Less injuries, no CTE, higher salaries.
