Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
Saint Doug replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ok, ok. Let’s suppose the 12th man was recognized and he got off the field. Did the Bills really play good enough to win this game against the 3-5 Broncos? -

What part of “Head” don’t you understand? He’s responsible for all facets of the game. Otherwise there wouldn’t be a Head Coach, they’d just be OC, DC, and ST coordinator. -

He’s saying that it was the head coach that screwed up. Multiple people screwed up here, but it was 1 single person who is responsible everyone is doing the correct thing. And that person is McD. So, it was McD screwing up that cost us the game. -
Fire that muthrrr*****er tomorrow morning!

McKitty? I bet he got made fun of growing up.

Excellent article and couldn’t agree more. I suppose some, and maybe Pegs himself, will say look at Cowher, but he’s the proof that something needs to be changed. Cowher had Neil O’Donnell, Tommy Maddox, and Slash Steward as QBs. He made the playoffs almost each year, but then would always lose in the playoffs. He was handicapped big time by lack of a decent QB. It wasn’t until drafting Big Ben did he promptly win a Super Bowl. McD has arguably one of the best QBs in the game and still can’t get it done. Just imagine what Marvin Lewis or Cowher would’ve done with Allen.

Why did the chicken cross the road? Because they wanted to cross the road. -
Letting Josh coach himself was the incorrect decision

I’m not a Daboll apologist, but I think this is a bit much. Outside of coaching Cam Newton, a freak of an athlete, Dorsey had zero experience developing QBs coming to Buffalo. He was QB coach under Daboll, but now it’s obvious that success was more Daboll and less Dorsey. Outside of Newton, who probably would’ve been successful with whomever, his major qualification was that he was from Carolina. Let’s see Dorsey make a purse out of a pigs ear before calling him “elite”. -
Would definitely solve all our problems.

Dorsey needs to go. Get someone from the Shanahan tree. -
I can’t knock the hustle. Someone is paying him for his opinion. I don’t see how ethics play into this. He has no relationship with these players. Anyone on here would probably do the same if given a chance.

The only thing I care about is whether he can neutralize Tua and Mahomes.

Bears CB Jaylon Johnson Requests to be Traded

This is fine. More likely than not, White’s contract will be going away. Give him that money and don’t re-sign Davis. -
Trade deadline needs what are your priorities

I just heard a call from Charlotte came in on Line 2 and Beane politely ended the conversation with the NYG. -
Would love the see an arial view of their formation on that last play. Did they not have players line up in the end zone, and if so, why didn’t they see an incoming pass? Nevermind, just saw it. How did our players standing there facing Mayfield not see that ball coming in?
-
True. Davis would make sure nothing is caught.

Another win that leaves you with a horrible feeling.

Buffalo got way too lucky on that.

Now we know why Dawkins restructured. Totally makes sense now. -
This will depend on who he hires as a DC. Many coaches comes in as DCs or OCs, and then promptly start hiring people as a form of returning favors and end up hiring the wrong people. Or, they just hire yes people. Or, they sway from their lane and try to be mini emperors - they don’t delegate and end up failing. McD did a great job hiring Daboll. He was basically hands off. McDaniel has done a great job in Miami. He’s hands off with his D (insert joke); he didn’t let his ego get involved and hired the best defensive man available.
-
This is mostly true. But, they may both be kind of floundering, but there’s one huge difference. Johnson has Goff and Dorsey has Allen. Johnson has basically took a very average QB and made him look great. Can’t imagine what Johnson could do for Allen.

I would love to know the final record of teams after these so-called player-only meetings, so I asked Google Bard. Of course they waffled and said there are many factors in play, but they did have these 2 examples: “That said, there are some examples of teams that have had successful players-only meetings and gone on to improve their records. For example, in 2018, the Indianapolis Colts held a players-only meeting after starting the season with a 1-5 record. The Colts went on to win 8 of their next 10 games and make the playoffs. Another example is the 2020 Cleveland Browns. After starting the season with a 2-6 record, the Browns held a players-only meeting. The Browns went on to win 5 of their last 6 games and finish the season with a 11-5 record.”
