  1. Here is a report on Cook from https://nfldraft.theringer.com SCOUTING REPORT BY DANNY KELLY Cook has a wiry frame and a highly versatile skill set. The younger brother of Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, James was a four-star prospect out of Miami, Florida, and a top-50 overall prospect nationally, per 247Sports. He took his talents to Georgia and became a four-year contributor there, tallying 1,503 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career to go with 67 catches for 730 yards and another six scores. He was a crucial piece to the team’s national championship run in 2021, turning 113 rushes into 728 yards and seven touchdowns while reeling in 27 passes for 284 yards and four scores through the air. Cook is both extremely quick and effortlessly smooth as a runner. He’s smaller than his older brother but brings a familiar running gait, utilizing stutter-skip and jump-cut moves in the open field that often leave defenders grasping for a cloud of dust. He’s shifty in the short area, showing good burst to accelerate and slip through small cracks in the defensive front. He has good vision to find the best rush track, and shows the patience to let his blocks set up in front of him, drafting off his offensive linemen before juking away from the defense. And he makes defenders miss with blur-inducing cuts and sudden jukes, and strings cuts together at the second level to find daylight. Where Cook truly stands out, though, is as a pass catcher. He’s capable of lining up all across the formation as a receiver (like when he ran a vertical route from the wing against Alabama in 2020, tracking the ball the whole way) and brings soft hands and natural skills as a route runner. He catches the ball away from his frame and shows the ability to go down and scoop it up when a throw comes in low. He shakes coverage when the play breaks down and gives his quarterback an outlet option. Cook has joker-piece potential as a hybrid pass catcher and running back at the next level. Cook is undersized by NFL standards and isn’t a powerful runner who breaks through contact or pushes the pile. He brings potential to add weight but at his current size he’s unlikely to be a volume runner in the NFL. He never got the bulk of the workload at Georgia, instead playing a complementary role to Zamir White. Lacks bulk to stymie blitzers in pass pro. WHY HE COULD RISE Cook brings the type of line-him-anywhere versatility in the passing game that NFL teams covet; he’s sudden and quick as a runner, too. WHY HE COULD FALL He lacks size and some teams may view him as a third-down complementary back only.
  2. I don’t know much about Bernard but if he helps the D against teams like Titans, Colts or Ravens, I’ll like him.
  3. Cook is not a break tackle type back. He needs space to operate but when he gets in space, he is fast and elusive with WR pass catching ability.
  4. Singletary and Cook will compliment each other well. Cook will soon become a fan favorite. Guy is explosive in open field. Singletary will be our grinder.
  5. Love this pick. Not great great contact balance but great speed and receiving ability.Definite home run capability.
  6. Alright, I’ve been converted. I’m on board with Hall at 25 if Bean goes that way. We need to make teams pay if they drop everyone back covering our receivers. He looks capable of doing that.
  7. Give me James Cook. RB is not the focus of our offense. Cook gives us speed at a cheaper draft price than Hall.
  8. Great find. I thought I’ve seen all relevant Bills stuff but never seen this one. Thanks!
  9. I-595 west looks to be a minimum of four lanes wide. It could be much wider depending on crossing location. It’s so hard to estimate speed of traffic coming at you from a distance. So sad for all to see his promising young life cut short.
  10. It’s the season of the smokescreen. If that’s what is “leaking to reporters”, then it most certainly won’t happen. Last year, was there any leak that the Bills would draft Rousseau or Basham? I don’t think so. Beans ship is air tight.
  11. No RB in 1st round. WR or CB are better values… if they have 1st round talent.
  12. Would have been nice for a player to be there to greet him. Bruce, Thurman, Josh… someone who he could interact with on a more personal level than the business side of the team guys.
  13. On social media, I’ve seen several Browns fans looking for another team. Many are looking down Lake Erie at the Bills. This move is a real hard sell to be the “face if the franchise”.
  14. I’m curious if he had any contact with Bruce when making his decision. Or if Bruce had spoke with him about Buffalo. Those two legends could connect on a special level.
  15. Our trainers might be what this guy needs to stay healthy
  16. Put him on a pitch count and have him fresh for the post season. We got him for the post season.
  17. Loved his attitude. Will always remember his carrying Beasley. In the end, we need better talent.
  18. Improve pass rush, add speed RB, add corner with speed, find someone who can return punts.
  19. Glad the Rams won but that was a crappy SB.
  20. While Daboll may have been the target all along, the Giants should have kept their mouths shut to prevent any leaks. Then there would be no BB text and no issue. I still think Flores is a good coach though and should be hired.
  21. Regardless of the merits of the class action lawsuit, this was a misstep by Joe Schoen or someone else in the Giants ownership. Even if he wanted Daboll, he/they should have kept quiet and let the interviews happen before saying anything to anyone. Daboll should be hoping that he can keep his job and that his contract isn’t terminated by the NFL. Will be interesting to see if the NFL punishes the Giants in any way. Might be a rough way for Daboll to start his coaching career if he gets embroiled in this legal mess.
  22. If there was a dispute between McD and Daboll about the run game, McD was right. When we got the run game going, we became a better team.
