  1. Rex inherited a top 4 defense, he promised his bosses that he would make it better. Two years later and with brother Rob aboard the defense it what's dysfunctional, therefore Rex is fired.
  2. Yeah, Whaley undermined Rex all year long: Shaq Lawson Reggie Ragland Adolphus Washington Kevon Seymour Zach Brown Leger Douzable Deandre Coleman Lorenzo Alexander Brandon Spikes Ramon Humber (ex - Saints) Robert Blanton (total failure this year) Last year IK Enemkpali Honorable mention Ross Cockrell (starting CB with the Steelers) Whaley, such a POS.
  3. hire Coughlin and trade for Romo
  4. Sal Capaccio ‏@SalSports 1h1 hour ago Anthony Lynn said he and Gus Bradley have been friends for a while but denied reports already having him in place as DC if he gets a HC job
  5. I heard it's a midnight special, Rico, you should be there...
  6. though TT should be the starter next year, he did not carry the offense this year. He complements it very well with ball security and with some running but he has still ways to go with the passing game.
  7. congratulations Terry and Kim, good decision. Now Doug, don't !@#$ up because it's your head next.
  8. That's a good point, eventually Kyle will retire, Graham won't be able to cover the ground he used to, Incognito's play could take a dive next year, but they are under contract and will be part of this next "rebuilding process" (hate those words) with a new HC. So yeah, win now should be the goal, always, IMO The fact that we have so many players leaving in FA could be seen as positive rather than negative if we're going to a 4-3 defense, we don't have to cut players and unnecesarily eat dead cap going forward. It gives DW and the new DC some flexibility on who to bring.
  9. I feel that Anthony Lynn is as good a prospect for the HC position as any in this league. Heck, John Harbaugh was a special teams coach for 20 years before being named HC for the Ravens. What Lynn did with this offense this year and with another's man system (tells me his ego won't be a problem) nontheless, is remarkable.
  10. Really? In 2014 we had a roster that produced the top 4 defense in points allowed and in 2016 we have (so far) a roster that produced the top 9 offense in points scored. Can someone tell me how can an aspiring coach can be so dismissive of those tangible stats? Those rosters didn't fall from the sky, they were assembled by DW and two coaching staffs, unless you think DW went full rogue, which would work in his favor, not against.
  11. when the communication fails, you hesitate, when you hesitate, you start thinking, and when you start thinking the other team already snaped the ball, you overreact and overpursue. You don't trust your teammate got the play right and you overcompensate for him, taking you out of your assigned position. You can aid this with a more simpler system, in Schwartz's system, the rookie Preston Brown called the plays, the system worked for everyone. We should look into going to a similar system next year (for the sake of defensive players) Gilmore, though, as Eball said, lacks fundamentals of how to tackle properly. in the off-season I posted a video of how the Seahawks hired some rugby coaches to teach them how to tackle. I hope our next HC guy can implement something similiar.
  12. Bring Bill Polian and I could live with a little nepotism, but Chris Polian doesn't have the merit or credentials for an HC job. (as of today)
  13. I was reading Kromer's bio and he only was OC once. It was with the Bears in 2013 (Trestman was the HC) and he had that offense Top 2 in points scored. Was he that good that year? and with Cutler nontheless.
  14. we think very much alike regarding those two potential HC candidates.
  15. I don't see how he has learned that luxury.
  16. Just a reminder of McDaniels tenure with the Broncos http://grantland.com/the-triangle/josh-mcdaniels-feud-history-jay-cutler-brandon-marshall-todd-haley/
  17. Why? He was a disaster with the Broncos. He acted like an entitled brat all his tenure there. He had problems with Cutler and Marshall from the get go, then traded both, He drafted Tim Tebow in the first round to be his franchise QB. Check this out. I know people grow up, probably that is the case for Josh McDaniels, but that doesn't make him the best HC candidate out there. Could he become one and be great? Maybe but I don't know if that is written in stone.
  18. no doubt about that, but we're the ones that will have to listen to the doom and gloom if Lynn is named HC after a thourough (key word here) interview process.
  19. I want nothing to do with Bill Bellichick's minions.
  20. I really like Coughlin, but I also would like to have HC stability, I want a guy that can last at least 10 years at this job.
  21. of course, but it's our fans, not to mention he has worked for us for two years. If you're a negative fan, you hate the prospects of Lynn being HC for this team, because he would be Whaley's puppet, because we did not interview other people, because Lynn isn't high profile and so on. I urge people to see his coaching credentials and what people say about him, besides, he took a system that wasn't his, adapted on the fly and made it work. Yes, there were some awful plays here and there, but the overall job he did was impressive. He had a top 10 scoring offense with Tyrod Taylor as his QB.
  22. I'm afraid fans don't like Lynn because he has worked for Ryan for 7 years.
  23. If Lynn had accomplished what he accomplished here with another team, fans would be viewing him as top candidate for the HC job. He has 17 years of experience on an NFL sideline, coaching for guys like Shanahan, Parcells, Del Rio and Rex Ryan. He was a former player, so he can relate to his players and for what we saw this year, they responded to his coaching. He took something that wasn't his (Roman's offense) and made it work, he simplified it and adapted on the fly. Just because he was with us for two years doesn't mean he is the wrong choice for the job.
