Someone Please Explain the Palin Hatred!
keepthefaith replied to PearlHowardman's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Palin has her limitations and if the left challenged her strictly on the issues, she and the right could handle that. The attacks were personal right out of the gate and have continued. She has a record as a Governor and ran on that. As for Obama, being a professor of anything is hardly a qualification to be a President. Most professors are functionally idiots outside of the classroom. As a professor Obama was held accountable for what? He accomplished what? Once he was elected a US Senator he accomplished what else besides running for President? I'll give him credit for running a great campaign. I'll also give him credit for being very intelligent. Practical experience on which to draw sound conclusions and solutions? He's helpless. I wouldn't want Palin as a President, but those of you on the left, ask yourself honestly a few questions: 1. Is Obama the guy you want negotiating a new START agreement with the Russians? 2. Is Obama the guy you want making policy decisions to help our economy? 3. Is Obama's idea of transitioning our country to a single payer health system (his words not mine) what you and this country want and is he supporting what you consider is an excellent solution for health care reform? 4. Does it concern you that he is pushing his agenda for social and economic justice (his words not mine) regardless of the cost and debt that is accumulating for these programs? 5. Did he sign what you would consider a well crafted economic stimulus plan? 6. He wants to develop green energy sources and reduce carbon emissions, do you feel that his adminstration is capable of designing cost effective programs that will allow us to capitalize on both the economic and environmental opportunities this presents? 7. Does Obama and his administration strike you as a confident bunch with the experience and know-how in dealing with the Iraq and Afgan wars? 8. What experience does Obama have that you feel qualifies him to lead on these critical issues? I doubt that anyone (regardless of their political stance) can study these issues and look at the solutions being crafted and then HONESTLY conclude that Obama is the right guy making the right decisions. I have asked a number of libs over the past several months to explain to me why they feel Obama is doing a good job and why his policies are the best for our country. Haven't had a decent answer yet and most of the answers simply point to the failures of Bush. Don't care about Bush any longer. Care what's being done now and what I see is horrible. Frankly, Jauron is doing a better job of coaching the Bills. -

Hillary is looking better all the time which is really hard for me to say. Pelosi deserves far worse than she is getting. Even lefties have to look seriously at what she is doing and realize the wreckless spending and government control that she is pushing is disastrous. -
Expect Jauron to be fired tomorrow

Hadn't thought of that. At the very least, he could be suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team". Tomorrow will be an interesting day. -
I'm going with tomorrow. Jauron is fired tomorrow. Wonder if Vegas has odds for that?

Ralph can get himself about a 10% discount on DJ's contract if they agree to pay him in a lump sum now. With the top income tax bracket likely to go way up next year and beyond, he can buy Dickie out at a discount. Write the check and move on. -

I doubt April would be anything but interim and sure he could be retained as ST Coordinator. -
Nothing to go one here except instinct, but I think he gets the axe tomorrow. There is enough to question about today's game that has to leave Russ and Ralph feeling hopeless about this team for this year. We haven't heard much publically from Russ or Ralph but let's face it, it's quite obvious to anyone watching this team that they are a mess and at this point Ralph has to be embarrassed. It won't cost him much to elevate April to HC for the rest of the year and it will send a signal to the players that change starts now. I really think it will happen.

He is a big talker. If he wants to help the team h should call out the coaching staff and front office.
-
No, we're the customer and can make other choices. Bad products don't sell for long.

I stopped caring last year and that has made this year more enjoyable. When a new coach and some new personnel people are on board, I'll care again. Ralph is in deep shyt with the fans.

Scenes from the Tucson Tea Party
keepthefaith replied to 1billsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Agree. It's the complete lack of common sense approaches being taken by this Congress and White House that are fueling the movement. Even libs privately must be questioning what their elected majority is doing. -
Oh, and bringing up Haliburton is staying on topic?
-
Agree. Until the Bills get a winning coaching staff and better personnel department, they're going nowhere. Vick at this point is a novelty item.

I heard today that Hitler jailed people in Germany at one point to reduce unemployment.

Pray for 1 term only. Pray hard.

So Americans screaming about too much spending will be saved by the Chinese if they tell Barack no more cash. Maybe we can get Acorn to register the Chinese people so they can vote in our elections. Acorn needs cash and the Republicans need more votes.

Out of Work? Can't Find a Job? Good News!
keepthefaith replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It can only include spending and taxing as those are the only tools in his bag. -
When a Presidential administration supports and enacts very questionable policies, you invite the scrutiny through a microscope.

Hmmm.... Jobs lost overseas. Note to elected officials: Identify the largest categories of imported goods and the largest opportunites for emerging products (like energy and dare I say health care) Set strong policies to promote private domestic investment and production Move the hell out of the way Watch economy grow

Go back and grind on the numbers. We'd need a federal tax revenue increase on the order of 50% just to get to budget neutral. 2009 revenue forecasted at about $2.2 billion against annual budgets of about $3.4 billion. Where's that coming from? http://www.usgovernmentrevenue.com/yearrev..._0.html#usgs302 See 2009 revenue.

Good for you. Enjoy the ride. I was advised in 2002 to buy gold. Did nothing about it. Another miss. Seems to late but not at your numbers. Did buy silver last year which has done OK recently. Different market but gold rise helps it too. My answer to the deficit is to create a new class of tariff. One that taxes Chinese imports but is charged to the exporter (the Chinese). That way we can pay them back with their money and the lower our currency goes the less it costs..

Far right Tea baggers crying in their beer
keepthefaith replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think some of us woke up during the campaign in '08 and many more since January. Obama and company have in less than a year become a very divisive bunch and are enacting the most expensive and partisan agenda in history at a breathtaking rate of speed. Not only do we need to keep our eye on the federal ball, but most of us have similar issues at the state level. Illinois is a wreck beyond what the national media reports. Sitting governor wants a 50% state income tax rate increase. One of his fellow Dem 2010 challengers wants instead to raise taxes on the upper earners only at a 100% increase. We have a flat income tax rate in Illinois which is "not fair" in his eyes. Republicans had an early party debate among Governor candidates over the weekend. All talked about cuts in spending. One candidate however, was much more aggressive stating that budgets for all state agencies need to be rolled back to zero with new budgets based upon need and justification. Our federal government needs to do that. Badly. Department of Energy comes to mind. Something like $30 Billion a year for the purpose of finding alternative energy sources. 30 years in the making. Failing. Obama appointed Jeffrey Zients his "Chief Performance Officer" charged with the task of making sure every tax dollar is spent wisely. Haven't heard a peep about this guy since. Apparently he has yet to find any waste. -

I agree. Simply put them all in a different rate group than the skinny folks and everyone will be happy.
