What exactly is your position on health care? What would Kemp have liked about HR3962?
-
Oh, they are lying. The dems will capaign next year that it actually reduces the deficit. Just wait and see. If you're willing to raise taxes enough you can keep it deficit neutral forever. Just turn that dial anytime the ink is red.

Also, tell which countries have plans structured similar to what is in what passed last night. I'm familiar with some like Canada where it is funded solely by tax dollars. That really doesn't compare to what we passed in the house. -

Really? How well has it worked in all of these other places and why is is superior to what we have here? If I post here the cost and coverage levels that we provide now for our employees, can you tell me in what areas we will see an improvement? -
What is it about Chris Lee that makes you feel he is worthless? I worked with him for a couple years. Didn't find him to be anywhere near worthless. Pretty capable guy IMO.

\ You could spare us all the juvenile attack and simply enlighten us as to why the health care bill that passed last night is a well designed plan. One where taxpayers will get a nice return on their investment and enjoy reduced premiums and great health care. Tell us why it's good. Give us the specifics so we have a better chance to see it your way. -
Here's how bad all of this spending is: 2009 fed budget is about $3.5 trillion. Of that, $383 Billion is interest payments on the national debt. Large deficits in the neighborhood of $1 trillion a year are forecasted for the next few years. That will cause the interest portion of the budget to increase by about $75 billion a year depending on the interest rate. So if you run the numbers out for the next 3 years, the interest portion of the budget will rise to well over $500 billion. That's just the interest!!!!!! So, we would have to achieve a $500+ billion dollar surplus each year going forward just to fund the interest on the debt and not add to that debt. Folks, we are nowhere near a surplus. It's amazing to me that in the face of this - Obama, Reid and Pelosi have the pedal to the metal in pushing their agenda of social and economic justice for their constituents. It's the height of irresponsibility and the only answer has to be higher taxes for all for a long, long time. This president and the majority of congress literally don't give a ****. They're moving forward with their liberal dream regardless. By the way, don't tell me or any republicans that this is all Bush's fault. He certainly has contributed to the problem. We know that. The bigger problem is what Obama and congress are doing and it's a disaster. I don't care what side of the aisle you're on. We're past the point where enough is enough. Everyone should be on that page by now. It's ugly.

Sarcasm or real? If real, tell us why it's great.

If the Health Care proposals are so bad...

220 votes for it moments ago so it has passed in the house. Pelosi looks like she got dressed in a hurry and forgot her girdle. Friggin boobs are down at her waist. I know, why am I even looking at that? -

I feel that the vast majority of the objections to the bill are accurate and well founded. I've seen and heard little that I would characterize as false or distorted so I disagree that there is broad use of the tactics you mention on this issue. Some but not widespread. The main objections are centered around the overall cost, who pays, too much government control and limiting choices. What I have yet to hear from anyone supporting this bill (both elected officials and democratic voters that I know) are any reasonible responses to these concerns or why they think the bill as written is a well designd solution. I'm watching some of the debate on the bill on CSPAN as I write this. Republicans voice their objections with numbers and real concerns and the dems simply state things like "it's time we did this"or "this will provide coverage for people in my district who are uninsured" or other cheerleeding without facts. No dem will address the CBO numbers which are frightening. This is simply another spend and tax proposal from democrats. Sad it is. So I'm still waiting for someone, anyone to explain to me why the dems health care reform bill as written is something that deserves broad support. Tell me why it's a good plan and why we should not be concerned about the cost or the heavy handed government regulation. -
The Ideal Third Party...

32 hours a week might be a good feature in this economy. We can reduce unemployment by employing more people at 32 hours a week each instead of 40+. Hourly pay only however. -

I want him to explain what's good about the proposed reform. Come on RI, give us an education. -

Some of their interpretations of true vs false are not accurate. For example, the claim that illegals are not eligible. An amendment to require proof of citizenship in order to get coverage was requested, but the dems said no to that. In other words, they can get coverage since verification is not required and they will still be admitted to emergency rooms. The Presdent, also will not rule out "reforms to the immigration system" which could instantly include 10 million people into the plan. Even if fact check is correct in all of their interpretations, it doesn't change that this bill is a complicated, expensive, poorly designed government controlled social money grabbing entitlment plan that is not wanted by the majory of Americans. AND I don't believe any rational person that is imformed on the issue would look at this plan and honestly say that this is the best plan that is possible. That includes the proud authors and all in Congress that will vote for it. If you or anyone else thinks that what is proposed is a good plan. Put it here and tell us why. -

No I read it. An income tax increase is an increase in business expenses and since they are raising tax rates to fund this health care bill, it is directly related. Everything in my previous post is a fact. -

I find that ad to be mostly factual. They may have missed on the wheelchair tax but there have been so many revisions to both the house and senate bills that a wheelchair tax may have been in there at some point. I can tell you this, I am a small business owner and we provide health insurance for all of our employees at ZERO cost to them. If this bill passes, the additional tax we will pay each year will exceed what we spend now to cover all of the employees. What a deal! I've already had a meeting with them to explain that if this bill goes through, they will likely have to pay a large portion of their premium. What these stupid politicians don't realize is that taxes are a real business expense and if we spend more on taxes, we have to spend less on other things including employees. What this bill does is more than double what we pay for health insurance. You see, it isn't enough that we fund coverage for all of our employees now. We also have to pay for a bunch of people that don't work with us. -

So you're OK with the government determining the level of coverage povided to you and the cost of that coverage. You're OK with having no other choice to choose from. You're OK with the goverment then detemining what treatments they will approve and fund for you and the timing of that treatment in the event you get a disease or have an accident. You're willing to pay for that coverage yourself at whatever the government determines is the rate. I believe this is what you mean when you say "universal" coverage? -
No way Jauron's here next year. Wilson will lose too much money if Jauron's retained. Watch ticket sales drop like a rock. Not even the great Russ Brandon would be able to sell a Jauron led product.

This is the only way and I congratulate you for coming up with a solution that will work. I couldn't come up with anything.

"Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus object to a provision in the Senate legislation - backed by the White House - that bars illegal immigrants from buying health insurance within a proposed new marketplace, or exchange, even if they use their own money to buy from private companies" This is one part that drives me particularly nuts. These people really have balls. Isn't it time we tell them to go home and lock down the border?

He simply wants coverage to be funded by taxpayers. I don't know why so many libs just don't come out an say it. -

I hate this health care reform bill as much as anyone. I would not be opposed to a public option if all that participated paid for the coverage without taxpayer funding. I wouldn't be too concerned about the government competing with the private sector. The USPS had about a 100 year head start on UPS and Fedex and has had its' ass kicked in terms of service and financial performance. I don't think the government is a big threat to compete with private insurance as long as the government doesn't control pricing and service levels. I think we could count on the government providing a lackluster service as a health care provider leaving plenty of room for private insurance to compete. However, expecting the government to offer health insurance and not meddle with the playing field is a pipe dream. -

If you feel that reform is needed and you studied the issue, I doubt you'd conclude that the bill that has been proposed is a good solution. -

I have read portions of HR3200 which was the initial bill and there are some have been enough news reports to get a feel for what it does. I'm a business owner and have some idea what the impact will be for us and our employees. Have read or heard enough to know this thing is a P.O.S. -

Couldn't agree more. What shocks me is that the vast majority of Dems that are supporting this thing. It's such a piece of crap bill which makes it politially risky for any that support it.
