Conservative Propaganda on Local News
keepthefaith replied to LA Grant's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Are you just waking up from a 50 year nap, Austin Powers-like? Had to pee for a week and now you're just realizing that news stories are coordinated? My gosh for as long as I can remember the MSM (networks, large cable outlets and large print media) have been reporting the same crap practically on the hour. Some of it so obvious the talking points are word for word across multiple networks or in print. Since most political media are left leaning, they haven't reported on their own lazy biases until the recent Sinclair example which tilts the other way. Heck, the AP and others push out stories and hundreds of outlets just regurgitate them. Everyone is selling the same fruits and vegetables, but some offer a slightly different mix based on their customers. -
It is. Governments need to go on a diet. The fed debt burden is going to be horrendous as debt and the rate at which the debt is financed continue to climb. Trump and the Republicans are asleep at the switch on this at the moment. It is bull. Republicans proving to be just as bad now after screaming about debt over the past decade and doing mostly nothing about it. Every fed government agency can do with less even the Military. Funny thing about our brains, if you ask yourself a question, your brain will usually come up with an answer. So if Trump were to tell all agency heads, tell me how you all can live on 10% less in the coming years - there are answers and probably some good answers.

You could have just shorted GE last year, left your position in place and gone on a lengthy vacation while making money every week.

Amazon has started its own delivery arm and will likely offer package shipping service competitive to UPS and Fedex in the not too distant future and they're going to more self serve locations. In some areas they already delivery most of their own packages. They are merely renting UPS/Fedex and the USPS until they don't need much of them.

I'd love for him to step down and be replaced by someone who won't use the platform in politically motivated ways. Fat chance, he's not going anywhere and even if replaced it'll be with someone out of that liberal California/Hollywood mold. I'm barely on the site though and only care because it influences so many.

Wasn't there an agreement a while back that NOBODY should ever post this picture again? It's bad for one's health. -

Yeah. The post office continues to operate at a loss even though they've had a significant increase in packages shipped in recent years. Trump though should not be bitching about the customer. He should direct his people negotiate a better deal, whenever that can happen. UPS and Fedex have walked away from some of their Amazon biz for this very reason, it's not profitable. Amazon fleeced the USPS in their negotiations and Trump doesn't like Bezos due mostly to his interest in the Washington Post, so he's a convenient target. -

There are an enormous number of fake accounts on Facebook. I have several thousand Facebook “friends,” and I find that between one-third and one-half of the friend requests I receive are obviously fakes, generally featuring comely young women who do not appear to be American citizens. I can’t believe that this profusion of fictitious accounts comes as news to Facebook. The key point here, of course, is the company’s determination to “reduce the spread of false news.” In my opinion, the Associated Press, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC etc. spread false “news” every day, but I don’t think that is what Facebook has in mind. More at the link: Facebook did during the past election cycle and continues to suppress conservative media that use their platform for written and video news. I don't see them changing their stripes and this new initiative probably gives them greater latitude to suppress whatever they loosely deem as "fake" or a violation of their terms of service. -

It would take a lot for NBC to redeem itself for the past years of political, racial and religious tilt but Jesus Christ Superstar which is airing now is a pretty darned good production. -

I think we've all learned by now not to judge such situations based upon articles and reports that only include a few hand picked facts. -
Similar to you. Having a laptop on is a great tool to get a lot more info on the event as it unfolds.

Will those that live in tents be counted in the census or do you have to be located at an actual mailing address to be counted? -
Well in the past week we've had Johnny Manziel and Rex Ryan weigh in on the Bills WR and QB situations.

Is there any excuse for a 13? 25 not so hot either. Certainly these fellas that are 1st round potential picks study and practice for this test. They don't show up unprepared and not take it seriously with all that's at stake? -
