Toy gun or not, at the end of the day, if the youth had simply complied with the directions, there would not be a story. I'm not justifying the use of force, but I can't sit here and armchair quarterback the encounter without seeing what really transpired. 13 is old enough to pull a trigger, and if they truly thought it was a real AK, then its not as simple as police gunning down an unarmed teenager. I also don't know if this is yet another chapter in a pattern of itchy trigger fingers in Cali, but to me there is no way to take up for the cause of either side.
