  1. A more sinister plot would have been to start a new thread titled "Rogers Cut" which is what we were all hoping for following the Jets torching our backup cornerbacks.
  2. Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't motion help the QB identify the coverages as well? If a DB trails the reciever, if the safeties shift, if it pulls a LB?
  3. Glenn was out for a bit with a high ankle sprain... i think it was 3 games or so last season
  4. So what's the point of a message board if we don't get to talk about the game? Do you disagree that a screen game possibly would have helped slow down the all out pressure?
  5. If you're trying to bring along a rookie QB slowly, Screens should be a BIG part of your playbook.
  6. One concerning thing this year has been the lack of a screen game from Hackett. Spiller and Jackson accounted for some big gains in Gailey's offense last year, and the Patriots basically provided the blueprint for how to beat the Jets blitzing attack with screens, bubble screens and quick hitters. Thoughts?
  7. Problem with that logic is that Rogers is not a young corner they are trying to groom into a #1 someday. He is a guy down on the depth chart that will never be a #1... whats the harm in bringing in someone who can perform better?
  8. I'm disappointed in the lack of a screen game..... the number one way to slow down a blitz is to use their aggressiveness against them. The Patriots have literally dissected the Jets aggressiveness with bubble screens, slants, and RB screens. Terrible playcalling, terrible execution, terrible football yesterday.
  9. I guess I don't get comments like that..... I'm pretty sure just about any NFL defensive player would put as big of a hit as possible on a ballcarrier. That's what makes the great ones great, you either can't catch em or you never can line em up. If he's talking about after the whistle stuff, that works both ways.
  10. Hughes is another good one...... Early nomination for the great in shorts, terrible in pads award.
  11. Not to mention Leodis is locked up for a while with his contract. I literally never thought those words would come from my keyboard in a positive light.
  12. Apparently there is a guy on the Jets named Antwan Barnes and he apparently isn't too impressed with Mario Williams' performance last week. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/18/mario-williams-big-day-nets-him-defensive-player-of-the-week/#comment-2801554
  13. "Be content to act, and leave the talking to others" - Baltasar Gracian
  14. I still don't get why they let Chad Rinehart leave.... he would look mighty good at LG right now.
  15. My 8 month pregnant wife attended the game with me. I have a lucky baby.
  16. Easley ran a 4.39 in the 40, so I would not guess speed is the issue. Graham is a little bit faster, but Easley can stretch the field with that speed as well.
  17. Gilmore is going to make a big difference. The Bills have been getting away with Justin Rogers out there, but you can only cover up for a guy like that for so long. Rogers let his man get deep on several occasions, only to get bailed out by poorly thrown balls.
  18. Ahhh.... i couldn't see up there during the game.
  19. I'll admit I left the game with 5 minutes left.... but that was planned. The wife is 8 months pregnant with our first and we didn't want to have to deal with the masses at the end of the game. What I took away from the game yesterday is the defensive scheme. So much more active in presnap, and there is a difference with the way the pursue and hit this year. Just like the Patriots game, even when there isn't a sack or QB hit, the pocket is collapsing.
  20. Biggest open spots I saw were the premium club seats.... I dunno if those are unsold or if people are just inside for most of the game.
  21. Saw Hannah Bueller was handing out tickets at a Tim Hortons in Hamburg this morning.... me thinks the team and other business partners took care of it.
  22. I'd think your position would be more strongly supported had Spiller not averaged 6.0 ypc last season, providing a body of work. Grahams straight line speed is not in question, just his viability as an NFL wide receiver. Lots of fast guys get 0 targets because they can't get open. Graham hasn't even had that one moment where he has flashed what he could be.
  23. Brown was a horrific dumpster fire for much of the day. Would Levitre made a difference, who knows, but there were a lot of 3rd and shorts that weren't converted.
