  1. i think raji has a ton of ability, but i also think maybin has a shot at being a jayson taylor kind of super pass rushing terror. those are guys you just can't replace.
  2. i would say moulds, law, and brown are all good enough to not be over rated.
  3. plus muthaclucking 1!!! i expect pain and misery for the faketriots in week one, and massive hurt for gaydy
  4. our front seven will be effective this year. with our two aarons stepping up and rushing the passer on 3rd and long we will go from good but vulnerable in spots to top 5-10, with many more turnovers.
  5. in the bible it says bellicheat will be tied up in his underwear in a subway ticket booth and will be sprayed with lighter fluid and set ablaze with my buffalo bills stainless steel lighter.
  6. we are better than both of those teams. we can run on them, we can pass on them, we can (now) rush them as they pass, and our secondary matches up well with their thin skill talent. we pwn them on special teams. 4-0 vs them this year.
  7. the bottom line is i fcking hate the faketriots, billecheat, and gaydy. i want them all the feel pain and terror as they suffer a bone crushing loss to the newly dynastic buffalo bills this season in the monday night opener. i want brady and giselle to break out in face herpes and die from boiling blood from the guilt of being evil. i want all the cheating players on the pats lines to have their testicles explode at the glory hole while they slip out from their wives after we play them. billecheat will have his eyes eaten by fire ants while demons humiliate him for eternity. i will then go on a walk for the bills across america where i chest kick a different random stranger decked out in full pats gear ever 4 strides.
  8. rj was a fragile guy who held the ball too long who had great qb skills. jp was a fragile guy who held the ball too long who had zero qb skills. jp is the worst qb to ever get 30+ starts. he sucked the most.
  9. agree w you and the quoted post. imo, the idea for our o line is that young smart nasty hungry guys PLAYING AS A UNIT will beat out allstar giant softies (like our old line, or dallas, or philly a couple of years ago). we are going the pats, packers of early 2k, ny giants route. we will of course have some growing pains, but if they can run block well, and do just enough in the passing game, teams blitzing us will get hurt due to the great set of skill talent we've got. with marshawn and jackson, we have a threat in the running game from all formations and with two top level studs on the outside, along with some role players closer to the line, we can hurt teams in the passing game for the first time in a long while. it comes down to trent growing into his role, and i think he will.
  10. the two parties don't even necessarily have stances on issues: they are totally focussed on identity politics. it is apple, whole foods, and fubu vs Wrangler, budweiser, and affliction Tshirts.
  11. awesome vid. as i watch these old games (even the ones from the late 90s when our d was sick) i am always amazed at how much better secondaries are in the nfl today. guys for both teams were open with 2 yards of separation half the time!
  12. i gave up on him too, but i will say there is always a shot. if he comes back and plays then it's a huge bonus. he did have mad quicks and some skill, it was his mistakes and horrible conditioning that hurt him IMO. i dunno, if he can look like a 1st round pick should look along w the rest of our guys, we could have some real pass rushers on 3rd and long.
  13. you know, i think that's why they want to run this. they figure trent has a quick brain, but is a little slow on our current O (i think he has too many reads or our plays are too long developing/complicated). if we have an o predicated on pre snap reads and quick decisions, then that is the best thing. w the quick TE, lee evans, TO and a RB out of the flat we should have a miss match and open hot read every play.
  14. my hate for the pats is unconstrained by any conventional sense of morality.
  15. i'd like him, but is he really worth a 2nd or so next year (what he is likely to cost) and a pretty big contract?
  16. donte was only ever an FS for us because we had OK SS but jack for FS besides. he will move to SS and byrd will be FS at some point this year. our secondary will be good.
  17. it's interesting that the exact same line was better in 07 than in 08. i don't buy gelling as much as i buy playing better together, which takes a lot less time if the offense and protections suit the players. if the guys only have to block for a little bit, then they will seeming gel right away.
  18. i get the impression some nfl teams are moving towards an idea of the line being uniform, preferring to spend LG to RT rather then blowing the wad on LT LG. I think this suits our team best, as like corners LTs are actually always available round one in the draft, so you don't absolutely have to over pay to sign one, but the actual addition to winning comes from the line being a good unit, not a compliment of players like how the D line is. a pass catching threat at TE will help too as it means he's either open, or he takes a guy out of the blitz package/makes him obvious.
  19. bowen really has a rep as a good tackler and a heat seeking missile. i hope he is good to go and gets at it for us next year. we'd have a stout line, some pass rushers, and some punishing hitters.
  20. most on this board seem to think that all that matters is the lines on either side of the ball. corners, safties, even if they make up 4-6 guys out of 11 on every snap on d besides defense don't matter. if the opponents put out 4 wide (like the pats do so many downs) we can just switch to 34 and cover them with 3 350 pound nose tackles!!
  21. peters has sick talent, that's obvious. the problem is he is a fkn punk and quit on us, is soft and gets hurt, and frankly played very incosistently in 08. we did the right thing ditching his fat ass. the problem now is just getting some production out of the LT position. now we might need to get a new guy for this season, but i think our coaches like bell enough to go with him at least next year. all we need is ok play at the LT. i think our entire line LG to RT is improved, and our skill positions are up a bunch this year, so our O should be nicely better as a whole.
  22. he broke a few big kicks and scored some td's dude. if he does that again i think he is clearly a very good pick.
  23. forget it dude, half of the guys here just think the only good d possible is a big huge one. forget speed, athleticism, any of that, all they need is size. all the guys crying for 3-4 and size might want to look at Cleavland. they traded picks and spent a ton of money on 2 of 3 big 3-4 d linemen and have picks and money in their linebackers and are friggen worse than us by a good shot on D (yes i know they beat us, but we beat san diego, i don't think anyone thinks we were better last year over all than SD).
  24. so philly hasn't built a good d, a VERY GOOD D, in bad weather based on speed? for christ bill, nyc didn't get the extra gear on their d until a philly disciple went to them and made them more aggressive. and indy, chicago, tampa, and YES EVEN YOUR GIANTS are speed teams on D. nothing crazy about being fast.
  25. yeah, they have a better line, no sht. they might have the best line in the nfl. we just addressed ours in each of the past 2 offseasons, adding a stud in stroud and the best friggen pass rusher in the draft in maybin. if mccargo didn't bust out (i suppose he might still have a shot) we'd have a deep rotation at DT, but we are at least above average there right now. AND WHAT ABOUT PHILLY?!?!!?!!?!?!? if it wasn't for the mike gandy led oline of the cards (another player at a position you always insist needs a pro bowler) philly would have made the bowl last year, and they whipped the pittz O in the regular season, and they whipped your giants. speed kills dude, it always has.
