  1. Man, Sullivan really knows how to get in good with the big names. Cam Newton would approve.
  2. A good move, but not so easy. Hard to fire a staff member that you put enough trust in to hire just months ago. Honestly, this is the best move I've seen from McDermott so far. Tough choice, but he made the right call. We've had many coaches through here who wouldn't have done it.
  3. I was watching videos popping up on twitter with all the Bills fans in Jax, and even I was beyond sick of hearing the !@#$ing Shout "heeeeeEEEEyyyyy" over and over and over and over again. Seriously, 30 seconds couldn't go by without someone starting that damn chant.
  4. Apparently Allen is going. Possibly a dangerous move by him. Is big saving Grace is the lack of talent around him at Wyoming. If he has a bad game with better WRs it nay dim his attraction. Good to be confident in himself though!
  5. Every W game I saw they were winning despite him. Last night is the first time I've seen play solid. You could even tell Miami's defense wasn't prepared for a passing attack. That's a Mark Richt coached team right there!
  6. It is! Hornibrook and the Wisconsin WRs are playing surprisingly well. I really hope this continues and Miami loses this home game and everyone can shut about about that STUPID turnover chain BS.
  7. The talent of the lines has nothing to do with it. Are you denying that the Ohio St defense was all over him after roughly 2 seconds all night? It doesn't excuse all of his play (or all of his play through the whole season for that matter), but excuses? What are you talking about?
  8. I can see that, and I think it's going to be a rough transition for him, but he'll steady out. I also think a timing based offense like Dennison's would be the best fit for him and help alleviate a bit of the pressure.
  9. I agree with everything here except I'm slightly more enthusiastic about Darnold (not a lot, but a little). Rosen is the clear #1. I still think there's a very small chance that the Giants will trade out of their spot for enough of a bounty. IF they're willing to work with Manning for a couple more years they can afford to take a Rudolph type and let him sit while using more picks to build the team up. My one slight hope left is that Cleveland wants Darnold and the Giants will trade out. Outside of that, I agree that the Bills should pass on the rest of these guys, go ahead and overpay for a vet and build the team up until they can do better.
  10. They need to stop making it so damn complicated. This "what is a catch" question doesn't happen in college ball, just the NFL.
  11. 1. There's already multiple threads for this topic 2. He's not similar to Manziel hardly at all. There are reasons to pass on him, this isn't one. 3. Every single person in the draft has bust potential. Many don't even have the chance at boom.
  12. Coaches are going to be able to take some shots at Urban for how he left Florida. He may not be old in coaching terms, but it's reasonable to assume someone who left a school citing stress/health reasons wouldn't be able to coach as late as others. Whether any of that is true or not (either his reasons for leaving or the assumption about his age), it's something that can be used against him. Doubt it will work often.
  13. This guy is very good. He's one of those kickers you consider taking early.
  14. Yep. I've heard a couple people that have been close to him in person say they won't be surprised if he measures in at 5'10. The combine is everything for Mayfield's draft position. 5'11 will probably cause him to fall some (without Russell Wilson's success it would drop him a lot), and his hand size could drop him more. 5'10, he'll probably drop out of the 1st round.
  15. I know, but in all the misery that has happened over the last 17 years, that loss always stands out to me as the worst. It really embodies the mess that this franchise has been. Until they can find a way to get in, it will haunt me.
  16. Outside of the loss to the Jets, which is the real self imposed killer in the playoff hunt, this very average Ravens team having such a ridiculously weak schedule over their last 5 games is driving me crazy. And we all remember how that last time turned out.
  17. This isn't madden; McDermott didn't "have him rush the ball". It's far more believable that PB did something he wasn't supposed to do than to believe the plan going in was for a LB to be the one to charge and get the ball. You're just way off here KtD, both in your insistence that a LB should never have been in that area of the lineup and in that Brown couldn't have just screwed up his responsibility. All that said, I will STILL blame Crossman. Brown may have made the wrong decision, but it's on the ST coach to practice this over and over and drill the right move into their heads. A mistake like that reflects on the coach responsible for the play. IMO, Crossman has proven that he is not a good ST coach. I was very surprised when he was retained.
  18. I'm really only a big fan of Rosen. A little less on Darnold after his down year, but I still think he has a better chance of panning out in the pros than most of the others. Rudolph would be letdown for me. 49ers, Colts, and Texans are all possible trade partners that may be in the top 10. Also, I don't think it's a lock that the Giants will take a QB; it may depend on who takes over. I could see them believing that with a couple 1st and 2nds they could build up the team around Manning and start winning quickly again. Don't get me wrong, I think they SHOULD take a QB; I just don't think it's set in stone.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I know what you mean, but there are no guarantees in the draft. It just doesn't work that way. They have to find the guy that they believe will be great and go get him, no matter what it takes. If in 3 or 4 years it ends up being wrong, then they have to do it again. There's simply no other choice. Giving up a bunch of draft picks and failing will suck big time, but it's the price you pay for trying to fix your team for the next 15 years.
  20. I pretty much expected him to go, but it's a strange choice. He said during his original recruiting process that he wanted to play in more pro-style system, which McElwain ran, but now he leaves Mullen for an air raid offense at Ole Miss program that is in complete turmoil? Mullen's offense isn't a great fit (apparently he started recruiting other QBs as soon as he signed), but Ole Miss is surprising. Good luck to him, though.
  21. I can't remember if it was spelled out when these guys were hired, but the previous coach and GM both reported directly to the owner. I doubt McDermott could specifically veto anything, but if they're both making an argument to Pegula and he sides with McDermott, it's pretty much the same thing.
  22. The difference is the Brown's will have the first pick and will use it on a QB. The Bills have to make it happen another way, and they shouldn't try to act any other way than desperate when it comes to filling this hole. There's a tendency for these guys to think they can fix things on their own because they're just so damn good at their jobs. BS, get the fuggin QB already.
