  1. Depends on where it is. I don't care who we're playing, the first home playoff game is going to won be by the fans.
  2. Because with our luck, he'll actually have a good season and show just enough flashes of big talent that the Bills won't use their picks next year to get a QB, and then he will absolutely suck for the following 2 years until the Bill's finally realize they had fools gold and release him.
  3. Fred Jackson looked the same way in pre-season as he got older. And while he lost a step while he was here, he was never nearly as plodding once the regular season started as he was in pre-season. Hopefully it's just a way to stay healthy and ease into full speed and we'll see a boost when the real games start.
  4. This is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen written out.
  5. This all comes down to what they do with the draft picks. If they're able to turn them into a potential top tier QB, it's all worth it. If they can't, it's just more of the same crap.
  6. It CAN be done, and certainly has in the past, but it's much more difficult and like you said, now-a-days that's only more true. But even compared to the good ones, series just has a big leg up. There's so much more time to build. In a 1 hour show you can build for 45 minutes as long as there's 15 minutes in there that are exciting/dramatic. It's just a much better format for that kind of thing. Almost entirely the latter. The freedom they have without having to worry about commercials or timeslots (or parental ratings) gives them an enormous advantage, not to mention the ability to binge entire seasons in short times. On cable, if you have a couple of not so great shows in a row, people are more likely to stop watching ("there hasn't been a good show in WEEKS). On Netflix, you can immediately try "just one more."
  7. I also think recently the TV seasons have been far better than the movie experience. You can't truly establish the world a good sci-fi or fantasy story requires in a 2 hr movie. There's much more depth in the longer series platform. For instance, I think the Blade Runner reboot (sequel, but whatever) would be served better in a series.
  8. Since you didn't watch the video; there's a big difference between not being able to help someone and screaming obscenities and laughing at them as they go down.
  9. !@#$ them! I'd throw em a weighted vest.
  10. Hard to say from the outside looking in, but this seems like a bad move on the surface. When you bring in a guy to fix a mess, he's not going to be the most popular person in the world, especially to those he has to cut in order help the cap. Seems to me he's done a solid job there. I bet he gets picked up pretty quick elsewhere.
  11. The only thing I can remember about Beane's relationship with Gettleman was that Beane of course wanted the job when Gettleman was hired, but since he didn't get it and was retained, he used it as a growing experience and soaked up everything he could from Gettleman, especially in the scouting department since that was Beane's weakness and Gettlemans's strength. My guess is that Beane has his own ideas about how to run an organization, which will include at least some of Gettleman's characteristics. We can all only hope it's the right balance.
  12. More importantly to me is finding something in the store, pulling it up on Amazon and finding out it's crap (based on reviews). Then finding a well reviewed version for about the same price.
  13. I haven't been to an amusement park in a very long time, but I carry everywhere I go that I am legally able to do so. If I'm going somewhere I can't take it, I store in a lockbox in my truck. If you carry, taking a weapon anywhere is not abnormal. The whole point is to be prepared even in unexpected situations. If you have problems with gun rights, that's a different topic. In this case, Washington just made the stupid mistake of displaying his weapon for the cops without warning them first. The law in Ohio is that holders must inform officers that they are carrying during any kind of traffic stop. You're SUPPOSED to tell them you have a license and whether you are carrying at the moment. During one of my firearm safety courses an officer told us it's not uncommon for people to just pull out weapons during traffic stops as a way of showing officers. He of course also mentioned how stupid this is and told us the best way of going about it. No doubt it was a stupid mistake, but not nearly as big of a deal as many of you are making it out to be.
  14. The biggest part of Amazon's business model relies on fuel prices. There's definitely a point where the cost of delivery (especially fast delivery) gets too high to continue. In the mean time, they're kicking ass and taking names. I hardly shop at physical stores anymore. Way better to shop online with dozens of different brand options and a review system in place.
  15. I'm sure they'll add them in wherever they can, but I'd bet they want to use them to expand Amazon Go.
  16. I'd be curious to know how fast he's getting the ball off. If they're trying to break him of waiting so long to throw the ball and anticipate routes/throws, it could be why he's being more careless with the ball. Or just rusty.
  17. He'll easily get another college HC job. If he's patient and bides his time at ESPN, he'll get a nice cushy spot somewhere with full control of the team.
  18. Me too (I think about 1.5 episodes actually). I did the same with Sense8, but recently gave it another try and ended up really liking it.
  19. Sherlock Holmes is 3 to 4. One of my favorite shows right now, but it's over way too fast.
  20. It hasn't been an entire off-season yet. For a guy his size, who was probably making matters worse by trying to play too early last year, it's not surprising that he's not 100% yet. He's way better off waiting until just before the season to start up on it again. He's been around long enough that training camp isn't a big issue.
  21. Personally, I feel the same way about Shaq. For a rookie, missing your entire training camp and first part of the season is a killer. For better or worse, he'll be a different player this year.
  22. I think in these situations someone with character issues can be worth the loss of a pick if it doesn't work out. A few of them were drafted again this year and always will be. Just because a team takes them (or a fan wants a team to take them) doesn't mean they saying that player is guaranteed to succeed. Just that at that point it becomes worth the gamble. And as far as I remember, most were talking about 4th -7th round...but it's been awhile.
  23. He also spoke to congress a month or two back about modern slavery. Did quite well. I actually like Hartnett. Mostly does bad movies, but I'm usually impressed with his acting.
  24. So far, I like the McD hire as coach. Not much you can judge in the offseason, but I at least like his pedigree and what he's saying so far. I do NOT, as a general rule, like the idea of a coach getting powers as a GM, and the way things sound from the outside, that's basically what we're going to get if McD has as much sway in this decision as the reports are making it out to be (who the hell knows what the truth is though). I also hate the idea that this article can be correct. Biggest mistake the Pegulas made so far was hiring Rex cause he blew them away when they talked to him. How can they be so quick to repeat that mistake? They're doing things backwards. They need to hire they're best possible bet at GM and let him have the reigns. I really do hope this works out and they stumbled into a great hire with McDermott.
