Tim Graham article -T Pegs considers dysfunction an insult
Meathead replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i dont think it matters ppl in general are not rational. doesnt really matter what you say, they will often hear something completely different and project their own bias into it, making it something completely counter to what you say we see this problem in epidemic proportions in any kind of emotional discussion. consider a very difficult and emotional topic like american race issues. probably 10% of what someone actually says is retained, the other 90% is pure projection, making the initial commentary almost worthless just imagine how much worse things are in something highly emotional and completely unimportant like pro sports. you have literally close to zero chance making a statement that doesnt get twisted all to hell and having nothing to do with your original premise terry pegula could say something like 'we want to leverage all our knowledge and work as a team to come to a decision', and the media will portray it as 'the bills are locked into a dysfunctional group think mentality where nobody is making final decisions and everyone has to agree before even routine moves can be made' so again, ppl will see what they want to see. and since most ppl are miserable petty wretches, thats what the media feeds us bc it gets the most clicks. i suggest reading media reports with an abundance of this is probably bull **** caution if i owned the bills and had sat through what this media has done the past couple seasons i would have been seriously tempted to just tell all local reporters to go !@#$ themselves -

people hear what they want to hear but i think terrys attitude is that the buffalo media are pieces of **** and i dont need to respond the way they want me to, or to the horseshit they shovel when i dont i certainly can see why the pegulas would love to give the double bird to the media, i sure would, heck i already do and i dont own crap. but i think for the sake of the team they should try a little harder to feed the sharks a little before they go into full frenzy mode -
dont look empty to me. i see two guys sitting up there for a jacksonville game thats almost a sellout

Whaley de facto leader of Bills football operations
Meathead replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think the point is that whaley isnt going to be intercepted on things that should be his call when rex asked terry about his future with the team terry should have said thats a decision doug has to make. we will be evaluating that together after the season perhaps now terry realizes he has overstepped a line he wants to maintain for himself and his staff. we'll see -

Pegulas reportedly expressed remorse for benching Taylor
Meathead replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is related to my post on whether or not the pegulas are meddling i strongly agree with the decision to play the backups that game, regardless of tyrods groin. mgmts job is not to worry about a coaches one game w/l record. their job is to make good long term decisions. getting a look at your vital backup decisions is a smart one further, if handled properly it doesnt even have to cause much if any of a stir like it did. somebody failed in that communication, and if that came from the pegulas it would again be a potential incident of meddling. or it could have been a fubar by whaley for not setting the right tone and expectation, which wouldnt be the pegulas meddling it would just be another boner by whaley. can i say boner? boner boner boner. guess so -
i really like the pegulas, at least as much as you can tell from the information available. seem to be regular down to earth folks who just happen to be loaded out the gazilles. and i dont even know what a gazille is i dont believe 99% of what bflo sports reporting says so this recent cloak and dagger stuff seems silly to me. i seriously doubt terry and kim are doddering fools unaware of mischievous presidents and conniving gms but the op may, or may not, have a point having the pres, gm, and hc all report directly to him isnt necessarily meddling if its handled right. if he hires good mgt talent and lets them do their thang then its fine. if hes vetoing decisions, or worse just making them proactively, then hes meddling unless of course he happens to be really really good at football matters. then his meddling becomes architechture and direction, two jobs normally handled by a pres and gm. but when have we ever seen that work? al davis is the closest example i can think of, and he fubared plenty. until interestingly he turned into skelator and suddenly he started to make things work. but that didnt last long bc he didnt last long after that. but he did a good job once he became master of his universe so is terry a meddler? too early to tell. but there are some warning signs. theres a steady stream of reports that hes influenced some of the big decisions. even with my skepticism of the press, these reports have to be considered plausible and checked over time and then matched with a pattern we already know they personally made the ryan selection. whaley allegedly advised against it. personally i think they could have made the rexy era work, but they didnt, and that counts as strike one they also allegedly were behind the push to release freddie. even though i strongly agree with that call, if they did that against football mgt advice it would probably count as strike two. lets face it, freddie wasnt going to contribute much at that point, except maybe a third down role that blocked even more than it ran. if the hc and/or gm wanted freddie to stick mainly for his leadership and keep an often undisciplined team on track, then that could have been a golden decision by the football guys. the pegulas overriding that decision would indeed be meddling and strike two i have less confidence in that second one than the first, but there have been others. so we cant tell if it meddling or not yet, but there is a basis for concern

What will get you excited for a better upcoming season?
Meathead replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
chiefs have a terrific defense giants are probably the best example of an exception, but their recent superbowl wins were loaded with flukes. those teams were super lucky. we will see if this giants team can pull that horseshoe out of their asses again -

100% about the quarterback the nfl has made that one position so dominant that you have only two choices: either get one thats elite or eleven defenders that are elite frankly i think theyve ruined the game making it so centered on one position. they could fix it by allowing bump and run back into the game to level the balance a little, but they wont if you dont have a dominant qb and you cant find eleven dominant defenders then your team is going to suck no matter what else you put on the field -
Must be able to challenge any play
Meathead replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
horseshit we have a million cameras with a bazillion views. theres no reason other than nostalgia to ignore that capability to get calls right not only should every play be reviewable, there should be a referee stationed in a studio somewhere with the ability to stop play and change any call made or not made on the field the consistent mistakes made by live refereeing is the biggest reason ive lost interest in football. i doubt im the only one -
Why is Whaley hiring ANOTHER HC who can't develop a QB??
Meathead replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
youre kidding, right? my mom could win a sb with the only qb that cheater has had success with he opens the gate and lets him onto the field. oooh genius -
yes but its a mute point

Sully: Bills aren't exactly doing a coaching star search
Meathead replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
why anybody in their right mind would consider hiring a cheaters coordinator is beyond me, especially the oc. mcdaniels greatest achievement is holding the cape of the greatest thrower in the history of all sports that throw stuff. and patricia implements whatever one of the best defensive minds wants him to - with the huge advantage of having said thrower putting constant pressure on opposing offenses to produce immediately and then of course is the parade of former coordinators from there that have failed spectacularly when not on a team with that thrower. not even one single one has done anything on their own. not one so i wouldnt touch either one if they came here for free. and i cant figure out why year after year teams get suckered into hiring them -

he might be right. the olden olden days talked a lot about particles as the basis of life, all kinds of particles. particle sun might just be an obtuse reference that hardly nobody talks about in the interweb. or mike is two thousand years old and remembers sorry not mike, 4mer
