  1. at best that was a wash. as much as both were despised i would still guess that donald would edge her out in a most hated contest it was the culturally acceptable racist broadbushing of conservative whites that drove them infuriated (for good reason) to the polls
  2. im not from the left trumps victory was indeed based a lot on being an outsider. the dysfunction and gridlock in congress has reached destructive and unacceptable levels and desperately needed a reset but that wasnt what got the sea of disaffected whites to swamp the polling places. it was being called the deplorables like this was still 1970 black racism and the whites that enabled them got us the buffoon that is donald
  3. this is about my only hope for a trump presidency. right now his protectionism looks like a sure fire disaster but im hoping he has some experienced tricks up his sleeve that will make it work he better. right now it looks like hes playing right into the expected stooge role than both russia and china were hoping for. the disaster appears to be taking shape already but i will withhold my judgment until we see whether that particular long term emperor has any clothes or not
  4. i dont like to name call but i have to say i agree this is the case. its always the case. thats why i just skim and mentally ignore until someone that i can acutally have an interaction with emerges from the sea of abuse the partisans are always threatened by rational thinkers that are immune to their peer pressures, thats why they rachet up the abuse on the new guy that doesnt toe the line. i just let them have their takes and wait for them to realize its not going to work. eventually you hope that it emboldens the actual thinkers to engage
  5. even after decades of conversations on poltical boads im finding the partisan attacks surprisingly weak here i read almost ever post but ive gotten good at skimming so many of you are ending up on a sort of mental ignore. i reserve actual ignores for the worst of the worst so it is exceedingly rare for me to actually use that feature but right now there is an even higher percentage of mental ignores than usual. my guess is that the mean abusive personalities have been winning here for so long that reasonable ppl dont even bother to come in here anymore hopefully i can draw a few more in as time goes on. or i might just give up. i guess we will see wtf. is my keyboard dropping characters or something? man tons of typos today
  6. i wouldnt go that far conservatives are obviously relieved the liberal dominance didnt come to pass as predicted. so am i actually, jus tnot in this way. they would have been in a world of political hurt if hillary had won, so now they are dancing with the giddy excitement of a man in the chair who just recieved a last second call from the governor the hateful bias you describe exists on both side. i tend to squelch that out bc its never going to go completely away and hopefully doesnt dominate any of our political standards for too long. maybe im too idealistic but i think smart ppl in the middle are the ones who usually straighted these things out with thier moderate views and voting to combat the majority of dumbasses in the electorate most people just love to love money. its sick but its true. donald is the iconic representation of that so he gets magically transformed into a diety of sorts unfortunately in this cycle we had two other huge elements that conspired to push him over the top. one of course was the russians. the other was the unfair demonization of white people as the new all encompassing evil thats wrong with america. ive been a civil rights activist my whole life and all we did was shift the racists from the white side to the black/enabling whites side. we made white universally racist at a time when white have actually FINALLY made the proper transition away from racism. the 'deplorables' were rightfully tired of being painted with that racist brush for the last decade and decided donald was their man to push back with the pendulum is going to have to swing back now and like always its going to go too far. sadly that means we are going to see a resurgence of white racism. but if blacks hadnt pushed that too far and convinced enabling whites to help them, we would be in this mess but thats what people always do when they get a little too much influence - they rig the system against the other side. in this case we had blacks and enabling whites rigging the system against a demographic that still represents a massive chunk of the electorate. i saw it coming but nobody listened. and now we have the donald as our reward. fkg great job people
  7. i meant that actually ran for president the rest of you are again forgetting that i dont view the world through the lens of a political partisan. i dont add points for being on one side and deduct points for being on the other everybody gets a fair evalulation. hillary had a fantastic background for the job, i obviously succumbed to a bit of hyperbole for ignoring an extremely well qualified candidate like poppy but the point remains - comparing her qualifications to donalds is like comparing jim kelly and uncle rico for the job of quarterback
  8. this is honestly what i definitely see happing with donald. its what i saw happening from the moment he decided to run, which is why i thought he would never make it but there is a serious mental disease that is the worship of money like a god thats going on here. if you hand a bonafide idiot a billion dollars they will instantly become worthy of adulation in the eyes of millions. and yes they will follow that idiot off the precipice as a result that certainly seems very likely where we are heading now i havent figured that out yet im leaning to believe he was just trying to cover himself after what he expected would be a hillary victory. if he hadnt done what he did he would be accused of bias in her favor idk. thats the best i got. i hate to believe that he could have been motivated by party politics. but that poison runs deep so who knows
  9. the dnc was hacked for obvious reasons. im glad that info came out but there was a direct and enormous benefit to the russians for helping donald win if youre the russians who do you want to go up against for at least four years, a very brilliant and internationally experienced seasoned politician or an insecure blowhard buffoon? helping swing that election was a major major coup for the russians. they got what they wanted and kudos are deserved, even if it does put us in an awful bind going forward
  10. omg. that horrible i didnt think we could get much dumber on race issues but this has pushed the stupid meter all the way around the dial thanks for posting this
  11. i just dont want them to win one in a season they werent caught cheating. bc so far they are ofer in that category marcia the goat. always remembered for never winning one without cheating
  12. not about them its about me and i dont like the cascading negative effects of rationalizing cheating at our hightest levels, including our competitive entertainment. heck i wouldnt like it in little league, its exponentially more damaging at the nfl level they would be dead to me as long as it continued
  13. thanks for your reply boyst. i know where thats going to end up and we are not going to agree so im going to decline delving into that further. im glad that info came out but i dont condone how it was acquired. but thank you for trying to tone down the acridness in your reply
  14. i never heard that but its certainly possible. i also didnt despise him simply bc he was a democrat so i wasnt paying much attention to the partisan gossip columns that always flourish when the rival party wins obama does use his charm, but so did the little dummy. as a guy i think i would have like jr, but lets face it hes a stupid person. hes another that got there with a silver spoon, this one more political than monetary. i dont think jr deserved the job bc he was dumb and incompetent. obama didnt deserve it bc he was too green and didnt earn a second term. and donald doesnt deserve bc hes a filthy rich dick of a human ive seen the donald for many years and i dont like the donald. im sure hes not all bad but i wouldnt associate with him. and i certainly wouldnt trust him to be honest and fair, i simply dont think thats him. so i absolutely dont want a man like that with the most powerful job in the world, jesus fortunately i dont think hes racist so im not concerned about him fubaring the country that way. thats actually us thats f***ing that up, not him. so i guess thats something to build hope on. sigh you first if youre such an expert i would appreciate your expanding my horizons. remember, i havent been back here for more than a few weeks. i didnt lurk on this forum so all i know is that you appear to be fairly reasonabe intelligent man on football matters if you dont feel like rehashing all you prior work here i understand, but i would appreciate if you tried not to talk down to me like you did. just say that. this is not going to be a one way conversation
  15. its a fair point, to a degree anyway i hate war too but from my perspective he had little choice. the threat of violent extremist islam is very real, even if he refused to say it for seven years he also inherited arguably the biggest blunder in international american history. guess i should have said quagmine. giggity
  16. I considered giving you chapter and verse, but decided you'd get more out of the exercise if I didn't spoon-feed it to you.
  17. yeah hillary totally blew it. she would have won if she hadnt conspired with the dnc to cheat bernie out of his chances people point to the russians intentionally working in trumps favor, which is true, but the information they stole about hillary was actually accurate. the lesson there of course is that working to circumvent the will of the electorate with backroom deals with the head of your parties voting representation is about as morally wrong as it can get in election politics im very glad that a cheater was made to pay for that transgression. but quite honestly id rather have the cheater than trump. id rather have brittany spears than trump
  18. obama also wasnt a charlatan blowhard with a long track record of being a dick when he entered office. i didnt vote for him either time but lets not pretend there is any comparison. i didnt vote for him bc he was too green and didnt earn a second term. i didnt vote for trump because hes a silver spoon idiot i agree obamas foreign policy left a lot to be desired but he was still miles ahead of the utter disaster that was george junior. then again, brittany spears could have been miles ahead of george jr
  19. george sr certainly did have a terrific background. i liked big george, voted for twice. too bad he had an idiot for a son and doubly too bad america had to endure his incompetence but yeah i have to admit he would be at least on par with hillarys background. so i conceed your point
  20. theres nobody in the history of america that has a broader range of education, intelligence, and direct experience for the job of the presidency i expect her enormous hubris would have stood a good chance to damage or even destroy her presidency, but she would have had the biggest head start on the job of anybody who ever ran for the office i dont know how anybody with a rational mind can dispute that, but i realize many of you will anyway
  21. i agree with you on these. ive already said all politicians lie the difference here is these are lies of the sort that grade schoolers tell, like i did not eat that candy bar when chocolate is smeared all of their face. not only is it an insult to basic intelligence, its setting an all new low for politicans lying. as if we needed to make that any worse
  22. Sorry bro, I like you but that's horseshit. I read the paragraph that you quoted to see if there was anything in there that I might have misstated and there just isn't. I I'm completely comfortable with what I said, I thought a lot about those issues and I believe I have a mature perspective on them, and I could provide detailed commentary on several different topics referencing what I was addressing in that post Honestly this feels like one of those instances where you said something off the cuff and then realize later you had no substance and you're trying to cover for yourself. And frankly it comes off as thoroughly condescending , which doesn't seem consistent with the rest of your posting but it is what it is. If you ever want to try again and tell me what it was that you think I didn't know or made a mistake I'll be willing to work with you on it
  23. for someone who has displayed some pretty sharp tendencies this was a very weak response i again offer you the chance to specify what errors in judgment or perspective you think i have made in that post
  24. i think its always polemic driven. thats just how far we have developed as a general species yes its certainly worse right now, but thats a residual side effect from 9/11. when ppl get scared they intensify their effort to put a stanglehold on life. nothing is more threatening than their perceived rivals for that control most ppl reside in this big mass of partisans committed to whatever clan they align themselves with above all else and fail to see the benefit of multi-perspective analysis. hell, many of those people feel sacrilegious if they consider perspectives outside of their clan standards most people pick a template and cram themselves into it. they do so to be accepted and feel a sense of belonging. they dont realize they sacrifice a lot of themselves in the process. usually it takes many years to realize it
