Beijing Pushes Back on Trump Admin Over Disputed Islands
Meathead replied to Meathead's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
perhaps. but arent they sorta starting that now anyway? and history seems to show us that a) dems arent really nearly as weak militarily as their critics paint them to be, and 3) the classic might makes right and crazy new leader tactics have some serious serious drawbacks if it doesnt work. note that we have both of those currently in play on both sides (!!). its the double freakin wammy. sunday -

Beijing Pushes Back on Trump Admin Over Disputed Islands in South China Sea "There might be a difference" of opinion regarding who has sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea, "but that's not for the United States" to get involved in, Lu Kang, a senior official with the Chinese foreign ministry, told NBC News in an exclusive interview on Tuesday. In other words, he was suggesting the U.S. should butt out of China's relationship with its neighbors. But the new Trump administration has made it clear it has no intention of doing so. Rex Tillerson, Trump's pick for secretary of state who is widely expected to receive full Senate backing, said during his confirmation hearing that the U.S. would block China's access to the disputed Asian islands. "We're going to have to send China a clear signal that, first, the island-building stops and, second, your access to those islands also is not going to be allowed," Tillerson said. Chinese newspapers responded furiously. "China has enough determination and strength to make sure that his rabble rousing will not succeed. Unless Washington plans to wage a large-scale war in the South China Sea, any other approaches to prevent Chinese access to the islands will be foolish," wrote the state-run Global Times. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/beijing-strikes-back-white-house-draws-red-lines-over-south-n711401?google_editors_picks=true this is actually quite fascinating trump vs the chinks. yes he said chinks. even the word trump can be used as an epithet so it evens out. two bizarre cartoon personalities going head to head. mega rumble. sunday sunday sunday trump taking the old guns a blazin' route, and china going full kim jung whoever the cowbody hero or the nuclear armed lunatics who are great at dry cleaning??? sunday sunday sunday but no for real, this is pretty interesting crap i forgot to post a poll about the islands. can i still do that here? idk i will look anyway i actually agree with rex country boy tillersomething. china cant be allowed to militarize those islands. could be a real serious issue get your tickets now

Exasperated Republican senator Lindsey Graham pleaded with President Donald Trump on Tuesday to stop repeating his widely debunked claim that millions of so-called "illegals" cost him the popular vote. "To continue to suggest that the 2016 election was conducted in a fashion that millions of people voted illegally undermines faith in our democracy," Graham, of South Carolina, told reporters in a hallway of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in D.C. "It's not coming from a candidate for the office, it's coming from the man who holds the office. So I am begging the president, share with us the information you have about this or please stop saying it." http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/gop-senator-president-trump-stop-claiming-illegals-cost-you-popular-n711386?google_editors_picks=true agreed moe ... larry ... the cheese ... the cheese

wow for real? well they already got caught trying to elbow out the voters, i guess this wouldnt even be that shocking. but you would think they would know better how about you easily verify it for me?

yeah i am uncomfortable with the no id thing, but didnt we fix that last cycle with an id campaign? the next question would be how viable is that form of id, which i dont know but i assume its not just garbage depending on whatever evidence i would see it may be fair to criticize the dems. but lets not pretend the republicans dont play their own disgusting tactics games to supress the minority vote. i know for sure its happening on the right, i wouldnt be surprised if its happening in a significant way on the left. i just havent seen it

lol i remember that video. i also remember saying to myself yeah an old white guy getting chatted up by a cute chick secretly filming him thinking what stories can he tell that will get him to dick her. god i hate to admit it but i would face that temptation myself but yeah id like to see some evidence
-
i admit im not expert on that level of voting standards, though ive heard of it loosely do we have a bref summary of those criteria or anything? another fair point but the reason i ask for criteria is to see if the criticism of them voting at all is valid if they are responsible 'illegals' then i dont have much of a philosophical argument to letting them vote. i need to know the parameters and admit that i dont on this point

oh ok well i still dont condone the abuse but i know those types. they can be long term pains once in a while they turn and become productive posters. i try to bridge my frustrations with them with the chance they might turn it around some blue moon was skooby ever around here. at least the one im thinking about. he was bad for years then idk had a kid or something and notched it up quite a bit. that doesnt always work, having kids, or whatever, but sometimes it does. it was maybe skoobys twentieth iteration before he crossed to tolerableland yeah but theres usually an option to turn the 'retain formatting' off. much muuch easier. if should be here somewhere but i cant find it

3.5 million out of 131.7 million is 2.7% of votes were illegally cast again that seems utterly impossible. well unless it was computer sabotage, we appear to be woefully unprepared in that. but millions of illegals managing to finagle their way into the polls seems like, well again, sesame street politics i will gladly eat those words if someone shows me some definitive proof. well not gladly, but appreciatively

a very fair point. but it is all we have so its a starting point of consideration ive said for a looong time i would like A LOT more money poured into ethics. so i say we just ask the people who make the law ... ohhhhh riiiiiiiiiiight still, to jump from zero point a jillion percent to several million is like the sesame street politics you know im starting to think youre not the guy i thought you were or im confusing you with someone else not very nice at all mister. smart. but not nice. i feel it only fair to warn you that earns points on my mental ignore filter. not that i expect you to care but now its out there btw: prediction. my cut and paste list will show up below even tho i cant see it here ... AAAAND BINGO! stupid editor. and no i dont mean me. not totally. just tell me where the button is you bastards lol wow, for real? that seems way impossible to me but i would look at any reasonable analysis btw - somebody in this forum claimed i didnt answer direct questions but i cant find it now. if you know who it was let me know and i will respond

President Trump's "alternate facts"
Meathead replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
well i have to admit i didnt see it coming. not till it was waay too late even as i was warning about it i was saying to myself we cant possible do this ... can we? naaaaaah but it makes sense now. not good sense mind you. typical human horseshit sense really. but sense -
lmao! that was awesome yeah. like what did you expect? they are f***king politicans. did you forget the politicians book of rules? if it aint illegal you can usually get away with it. put two lawyers on the books and youre sorta asking yourself to get f***ed on the borderlines why do you think black politicians get caught so much? they dont have much practice! take it from me black folks, study the white politicians tiptoeing techniques. saves you from the joint

no that was a terrible event that could have happened to any ss. virtually every embassy requests more security funds, especially those in hazardous countries. i recall seeing an estimate that if every such request was fulfulled it would cost, well, ridiculously enormous amounts of money. it was a random event precipitated by violent head-f***ked people that infect one of our religions. thats pretty much it no it was reckless but its disingenuous to pretend she was the only one. this gubmint email thing has been rediculous for a long time and should have been put a halt to long ago. do we recall how karl rove broke campaign laws by having all correspondence go through the RNC servers? and then when the contents were subpoenaed their IT guy (which i used to be) was suddenly 'oh backup? what are backups? oh those things. yeah we lost all those. yeah amazing thing these computers, eh?" so yes, it was foolish for her to give republicans that opening. its probably the best example of her hubris tripping her up, thinking she didnt have to worry about little weasels who can turn even totally non-important things into the biggest scandal you ever heard of. its actually evil brilliance. but its still evil, i recall that article when it came out. there certainly are some borderline activities deserving of criticism in the clinton foundation. but their experience as lawyers kept them from crossing that borderline. that kind of foundation is always going to benefit from time to time with a political leader at the helm, especially two as well known, and in bubbas case popular, as the clintons. im not comfortable with it, but it is what it is. and it wasnt illegal. and certainly not even close to disqualifying her as a candidate wth. my editor isnt working right. i knew i deleted that last set of questions but it showed up anyway. where the hell is that button i axed you guys about?

President Trump's "alternate facts"
Meathead replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
that was the race grievance industry just getting revved up. it crescendoed with the ridiculous premise that was BLM and the deplorables comment. and it definitely the biggest single factor that cost her the election from the minute he was a candidate and the chorus of calls that he was some kind of virulent racist were being echoed non-stop i started shouting from the interwebs rooftops that was more likely to get him elected as not nobody listened now we got the stooge put an orange wig on curly and thats now the president -
thanks for your reasonable reply, but wow are you kidding only jesus himself stood any chance against the first percieved black president to a predominantly white electorate that had finally internalized their brutal string of historical race issue mistakes. the only reason he didnt absolutely crush it was due to his obvious bright green experience level. thats certainly why i didnt vote for him the first time this second time, yeah she definitely blew it. the devestating mistake was the deplorables comment. i literally stood up and screamed at the tv the first time i heard her say that. why not just endorse trump you stupid ass B word, i think were my words. her second biggest mistake was having the moral infortitude to cheat with the dnc ... and then get caught. and then of course allowing the russians to steal that info in the first place so that they could help install their stooge the benghazi, the email, and the clinton foundation were at a bare minimum 90% trumped up fake charges executed by a republicanism that has shown thats literally the very best thing they are good at. the karl rove school of brilliant and brutally effective bullѕhit politics. but she could have overcome that if the other things didnt happen but they did and we got the stooge

it always is in these kinds of forums thats why you have to mentally filter it out if you intend to try to actually accomplish something. lots and lots of ѕhit to filter, always

i will say this once and hopefully ppl will remember so i dont have to say it again if you are having a dialog exchange with someone who makes a mistake and admits it, either by just saying that or even apologizing for their error, the mature thing to do is accept the acknowledgement of that mistake and move on the immature dick thing to do is keep cycling that mistake and use it to denigrate the validity or character of that mistake maker. look at your posts and decide which way you are being now about hillarys experience as first lady. all first ladies count as teammates in the job of potus - some simply provide valuable emotional support and reinforcement for their partner who has the toughest and most important job in the history of the world. as such that is an extremely important role and is the traditional one for most wives of the president so far. barbara bush would be the role model here - a small minority, so far, bring the skills, knowledge, experience, and education to be bonafide administrators for their partners agenda. hillary is the only one that immediately comes to mind but presidential historians could come up with more. our historically patriarchal presidencies make that harder but im sure they are out there people resisted hillary in that role bc she was too capable and they preferred she make cookies instead. in fact, she finally did relent and make the f***ing cookies. but it was a gross waste of her talent, as i said at the time, and she eventually moved to helping bubba substantially outside of the kitchen once the cave people forgot they were so pissed about it so yeah to me that counts and i was looking forward to it hopefully helping her avoid hubris-ing herself to death in the job. no guarantees

Press Secretary Affirms that Trump Believes Lie of Millions of Illegal Voters ■ White House press secretary Sean Spicer stood by President Trump’s false assertion that millions of illegal voters gave Hillary Clinton her popular vote win. ■ Gag orders seem to be proliferating throughout the federal bureaucracy, but Washington can’t keep the Badlands down. ■ A new national security political action committee, assembled by former intelligence officers and national security officials, has begun posting “no spin” research on the president’s business interests abroad. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/24/us/politics/donald-trump-administration.html this feels like a reeeally bad beginning for anyone hoping trump will be a reasonable effective potus btw is there a button to turn off retained formatting, ie. to allow me to paste text from an article without it looking like the title above and just look like normal text? usually its a button toggle but i dont see it

President Trump's "alternate facts"
Meathead replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
i loved sterns black jeopardy with robin quivers. several times i had to pull over from my hoboken to morristown commute to not laugh myself into a bridge abutment that was his maximum funny, just before he became a popular brand. robins straight lines were deadly hilarious. perfect comedic team -
