  1. well i guess im not going to if you dont specify
  2. i have already stated that individual scenarios do not have to reside in the middle. the word i used was wisdom, not argument i realize this will take a while to sink in but im only going to repeat myself for a limited time
  3. omg ive been torn apart how will i ever recover
  4. exactly ive had this discussion hundreds of times. its always the partisans that have the biggest problem with it. thats bc of course they are heavily biased to one side and see the other as inferior and/or evil. to admit that wisdom resides in the center would devalue their invested partisanship, which of course they cant do and still remain in their clan and i will restate, if i havent responded to your post its bc you are playing the standard partisan 'gotcha' game, which i dont do if you really want me to respond to something, remove all partisan assumptions and accusations and resubmit
  5. i was sixteen and power had gone out early at my rural home so we headed to my grandmothers farm four miles away where there was a fireplace and plenty of food in cold storage. we barely made it without getting stuck and settled in front of the fireplace roasting chestnuts and trying to conserve our flashlights and lanterns for the long haul ahead due to the wide open fields and brisk wind, the snow collected on the east side of the sparsely spaced homes. our farmhouse was on the east side of the road and we could look out across kitty corner to a three story victorian with a big barn directly behind it that the plows were having a terrible time keeping clear. cars began getting stuck and before their owners could free them another car would get stuck, and another, and another. pretty soon they closed the road bc there were too many stuck cars to plow around over the next couple hours we watched as the resulting snow drift swallowed that big house whole. the barn behind them allowed the snow to begin piling up on their west side, and the giant stuck car monster caught everything else on the other side. we wondered what the ppl who lived there were going to do bc it looked like they werent going to be able to avoid getting buried. but we didnt see anything so we assumed they werent home. that is, until the snow had almost covered them over completely and we finally saw them climb out of their attic window and head to the house a ways across the street i dont remember exactly how long we were there but it was a while. even when we were finally able to leave my grandparents, that massive car monster snow drift was still too unweildy to dig out so we had to go the long way around to get home. i know it took them almost a week to dig all those cars out enough to make it safe to plow back home i recall walking through open air tunnels that we had to dig that were literally over my head just to get to the road. i also recall that despite all that snow we couldnt even use our snowmobiles bc there was so much new snow that you would bury yourself if you tried to ride across the top of it
  6. philosophy and metaphysics are two huge examples of wisdom always residing the center. the entire advanced concept of ying and yang is 100% about finding the wisdom in the center and i cant believe you tried to make a point that centrism in politics is somehow 'immoral and wrong'. holy hell
  7. yes but in this cycle we have made the worst possible mistake: we have given control to only one party and done so with a demagogue at the top it appears painfully obvious to me that the electorate was intending to do what it normally does, split control of govt by electing a president from one party and a congress from the other. thats a good thing, and its just about the only good trait that the electorate as a whole has but a series of events aligned themselves to screw up that intention. the biggest was the cultural demonization of whiteness as the defacto standard of racism, painting trump supporters as 'deplorables' at a time in history when whites who have mostly abandoned their terribly racist past were sick and tired of being called racist when they werent. then was hillarys own moral sin of cheating, conspiring with the dnc to rig the primary, exposed via the one-sided hacking and leaking of that information by the russions to swing the election away from a hyper-qualified person they feared toward a stooge of an idiot they could manipulate. and of course the last minute announcement by comey that he had reopened the email investigation so the proper result that the electorate expected to make happen should have been hillary at the top with both houses under the other party. as it should always be what we have now is a charlatan demagogue with a broken republicanism eager to blank check almost whatever this piece of crap idiot wants to do the ONLY thing the dems have in their arsenal now is the filibuster, and if they use that too much is going to damage their political future so they can only play that card so many times. well that, and the social leverage they will get once ppl realize what an unhinged idiot this man is, but that might take quite a while to become political capital this is the most dangerous political situation i can ever remember in my adult life. i hope we dont seriously regret it. honestly im finding it hard to believe we wont sorry, not responding if you want to engage me you need to a) read eveything ive typed in a post, 3) remove partisan accusations this goes for everyone btw
  8. when the election started i was looking for a republican to vote for (again) mainly bc we are better off if we have two healthy parties and the republicans have clearly been way more broken that the democrats the last few cycles. thats not a partisan statement, it is just fact. neither side is anything to be proud of, but modern republicanism is as destructive and corrosive as it can get and my hope the last couple elections is that somebody would break open those festering wounds wide with a swift boot kick to the groin so that it can be fixed but when no viable republican emerged either as an official candidate or even a realistic write-in, i started considering hillary. i do believe she was by far the most qualified candidate in american history, but i dont like the leftward lurch that the country has taken in the last decade. again, balance is the key and we have become grossly imbalanced toward the liberal side in recent history and we need a correction back toward healthy conservatism for the good of the country. even so, with the lack of a viable republican candidate i was considering a vote for hillary simply bc i think she had the best chance of handling the extremely difficult problems our country and world are currently facing. so i was hesitantly moving towards hillary for a serious consideration for my vote and then she got caught cheating conspiring with the dnc to attempt to influence the primary voting is disgusting and unacceptable. why the hell should we even bother to have primaries if the dnc is going to be rigging the results? why not just ask them to name a candidate and then we all only vote for the presidency. they were essentially stealing votes from americans. and theres no way in hell im voting for that kind of cheater, regardless of how qualified she is the problem is we got a booby prize that is way worse i cant imagine a candidate more poorly qualified than donald freaking trump. my god. its like electing brittany spears or kanye west. its so bizarre and disheartening that weve ended up here, but thats what has happened so no, i cant agree that hes better than hillary. i wish we could have a do-over and eliminate both their disgusting asses, but we cant. and if i was forced to choose between the two i would take hillary 100% of the time and just hope her dishonesty and hubris wouldnt sabotage what is in fact a fantastic presidential resume
  9. sigh i didnt say that i realize im new to this forum but ive been through this so many times over the years that im tired of repeating myself. its like shoveling ѕhit against the tide but i will do so for this point wisdom indeed does and always will reside in the center. that doesnt mean you put a finger in the wind and choose the middle position. it means you examine both sides, see what merits their argument has, what biases they may hold, and try to see if there is an amalgamation of the two that makes sense. one side certainly can be right at any particular time as the ebb and flow of ideas and standards evolves over time. but usually the wisest perspective is going to incorporate elements of both polar opposites
  10. hopefully i will only have to say this once but i expect im going to have to repeat it several times until the message eventually sinks in im not a partisan, ive never belonged to a political party by design. wisdom resides in the center and its tragic most of us dont realize that i cant stand partisan discussions/arguments and i dont participate in them. if i dont respond to something in a political discussion you can assume its bc i want nothing to do with one-sided partisan arguing i prefer to talk about real issues in as much of a politically unbiased manner as possible. i prefer to work with the 10% of ppl that can do that and see if we can expand each others horizons by having an honest and respectable exchange so these 'liberals are this evil' and 'republicans are that evil' comments are just not going to interest me at all
  11. yeah when i said that i realized it was not a completely accurate statement since we are only a few days into this. i expected you to figure that out. so strike 'term' and substitute whatever word you want that means this idiot is going to be a f***king disaster and it disheartens me greatly that we made this horrific mistake
  12. well shes right about the divisiveness and the two-party system being thoroughly broken. its why i have never joined a political party wisdom resides in the center. always has, always will what shes not right about is donald being a racist. he just isnt. hes a boorish, misogynist, selfish, stupid, piece of ѕhit of a man. but hes not racist. we dont get to lump in racist just bc hes a piece of crap. the fact that most of the population thinks that he is is a reflection on how badly we have broken the whole racism thing in this country
  13. it is truly beyond bizarre politicans have always lied but its always about stuff thats hard to confirm. this team just lies about stuff everybody can see is a lie - and they dont even care. they dont even bother to try to lie subtley, its just bald faced toothy grin lying out of their asses right in front of everybody the tax returns, the broad conflicts of interest, the blatant partisanship representing only one demographic and overtly disparaging the other i dont know how this piece of ѕhit of a man is going to avoid getting his buffoon ass impeached. as much as i would love seeing that dick of a human get whats coming to him, it would be very bad for the country i just really cant see how this isnt going to end in disaster. if we are lucky it will only be him and his plasticine family that suffers for it. but it honestly concerns me that hes going to make some mistake that costs many thousands of lives dear god, if you arent going to let us have a do-over could you at least see that he doesnt blow pluto sized chunks out of the planet?
  14. someday i hope they throw the book at one of these ppl and publicize it heavily so the next idiot thinks twice its more common than you think of ppl getting injured or even dying from fire false alarms. not only does this potentially sidetrack the dept from addressing a real emergency that may happen concurrently, but many ppl have been hurt or died from accidents while the engine races to the scene. thats not even mentioning the sheer cost of deploying an entire outfit and engine in the first place yeah ha ha fun and games. until youre the one watching your house burn to the ground while some dick giggles that he got the opposing team up in the middle of the night
  15. i am a centrist who has voted for more republicans than democrats for president, including both of obamas terms (paul, huntsman) i have to say this is the most disgusting and disheartening presidential term in my lifetime. weve elected a stupid, insecure, total f***ing ass hole of a man for president before he even was a candidate if you had asked me who are the five people in the country i would LEAST want to ever be president it would look something like brittany spears, amanda bynes, steve smith sr, sarah palin, and trump i pray some way, some how, by some miracle of miracles that he is successful. but right now this feels like a complete and utter f***ing disaster for america what a f***ing **** show of an election this was. forced to choose between a hubris soaked cheater of a woman, and a cartoonish embarassing buffoon piece of **** of a man. its why for the first time in thirty years i didnt even vote i thought twice electing the seriel failure that was george junior was the ultimate low point of presidential politics. holy hell. i would actually prefer that miserable little failure to this disgusting piece of garbage
  16. as the article points out, theres a lot of factors that can result in a loss when trailing in the fourth i would be much more interested to see tyods stats in those situations broken out like that author did for rodgers
  17. yeah ive learned the hard way that addicts are the best liars in the world. a couple ppl ive known for decades developed an addiction problem and they could look me right in the eyes and tell the most outrageous lies and be completely believeable. loaned one guy thousands of dollars to go to a treatment facility, he stayed at my house overnight to be admitted in the morning, and i made the mistake of not going with him. you can guess what happened
  18. how could anybody possibly tell if that guy developed dementia
  19. just want to point out that being 'totally alone' on a point has absolutely nothing to do with whether you are right or wrong/win or lose a debate one person could stand up against millions and still be 100% correct. it has happened many MANY time in history, in fact
  20. i just wrote the pegulas asking for a bigger penis
  21. you think thats something just wait until marcia retires. all the 'geniuses' in that building will suddenly be taking stupid pills
  22. dysfunction!!! you say that like there could be some other kind
