  8. Obama brokers end to diplomatic freeze between Israel, Turkey over Gaza flotilla deaths ISRAEL has apologised for the deaths of nine Turkish citizens in a flotilla that attempted to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza in 2010. Following the apology, Turkey immediately agreed to resume diplomatic relations. The end of the three-year diplomatic freeze between two of the key countries in the Middle East was brokered by President Obama. The breakthrough came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday morning Australian time telephoned his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Mr Netanyahu apologised for the deaths of the nine Turkish activists who were killed after the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) boarded the Mavi Marmara, a boat in the Gaza flotilla. After that incident, claims and counter claims were made - Turkey argued that the IDF had used excessive force that led to the deaths in international waters while Israel argued that the soldiers were ambushed when they boarded the boat and the nine were killed in self defence. Both sides used video from the event to support their claims. After Mr Netanyahu made the apology, Turkey immediately responded by announcing it would resume full diplomatic relations. Mr Netanyahu made the phone call about the same time that Mr Obama flew from Tel Aviv to Jordan after a three-day visit to Israel and the West Bank. It is understood Mr Obama stressed to Mr Netanyahu that with the deterioration in Syria - which both Israel and Turkey border - that the two countries needed to end the freeze. The resumption of diplomatic relations means Israel and Turkey can plan together for any contingencies that may occur as Syria's civil war worsens. The two possible occurrences that both countries need to prepare for are an increased flow of refugees and the possible use of chemical weapons. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/obama-brokers-end-to-diplomatic-freeze-between-israel-turkey-over-gaza-flotilla-deaths/story-e6frg6so-1226603952915 im not sure i believe that obama 'brokered' this deal but whatever the point is you may recall israel flatly refusing to apologize over this incident. now they finally do, everybody moves on, and it gets this kind of back-page stealth coverage i think both sides getting some blame in this is appropriate. allegedly peaceful flotilla members should never have physically assaulted the soldiers. and the isreali military has to be prepared for unreasonably aggressive demonstrators and not give them the opportunity for bad behavior to get out of control and since im trying to do a better job pretending im republican, i blame obama for everything

  11. misleading title. minus five demerits. wait if its minus five DEmerits then ifs plus five merits. so its plus five demerits, or i supposes minus five merits. or perhaps minus five bite mes. ralph is cheap
  12. if mario really cared about this region he would donate a hundred thousand makeovers to buffalo area women

  14. 1. this probably has little relevance today bc it was a long time ago, and c. idk exactly how true it is but ill tell you the story anyway ... i had a close buddy right after college that said he knew mark duper in college (maybe it was clayton, im not sure, anyway) and he described him as if you thought about what the ultra stereotypical ghetto hoodrat was, mark duper was that guy. basically he was saying he was a selfish low-life. and if youre tempted to say something dumb about my friend being prejudiced just let me say no thats not it of course its entirely possible duper grew up since then, but its also quite possible he never did. lots of times when those guys come in with a low-life attitude, whether from the ghetto or the trailer park, sometimes they never change despite their riches and fame cough marvin harrison cough. it might be that hes still just a douche and likes to beat up on people
  15. ooh treading the joke tightrope on this one
  16. well if the bills decide they want him here and can get him at a reasonable price i guess thats ok. but really using that spot for a younger guy still with future potential might be the better way to go i mean, last season would have been more reasonable to try to go all in, which they certainly make efforts to do with mario and the former cheater by association. but now, if youre going to draft your new qb and let him play a last legs urlacher might be a security blanket you really dont need
  17. its true buddy has failed in preparing for the post fitz era. i really have to give him an F for that. combined with his probable B+ for all other moves he averages out to probably a d+/c- not good enough but not horrible. he can fix it all by hitting on his qb pick now. that would be huge and seriously raise his grade into the b's. but percentage wise its not exactly probable, depending on where he ends up making the pick so its all in for buddy now. hes gonna get all the comps and booze and hookers, or hes fired in disgrace. no pressure
  18. yes but i want them signed NOW. and if you dont sign them NOW i will be so done with this incompetent team FOREVER ... until you do sign someone later then ill pretend like i said none of this and be sitting in front of my tv with my kelly jersey and whammie weenie
  19. hes washed up worse than amanda bynes hits cop cars im running out of places to use that joke
  20. i applaud this nonsense ive wanted them to get the helmet-as-a-weapon out of the game for a long time now. they did it on defense, now they are starting to do it on offense. good move
  21. hey yeah! no helmets would be even better. theyd have rosters of four hundred for a regular season game and surgical teams right on the sidelines. the game is won when the other team runs out of players. awesome!
  22. lee smith is a very good blocking te. dorin dickerson can run routes as the receiving te. yeah they need to try to add another before camp ends to cover until chandler returns, but its not like they have nobody at all
  23. i wish they would go the other way - allow players to carry clubs, wear a big spike on the top of the helmet, and execute ninja moves while playing. rollerfootball!!
  24. the whole hope and change yes we can crap just pissed me off right from the start. but it sure worked. didnt matter how many times you tell people to notice there was nothing behind it, it sure worked similar to that aw shucks folksy style of little bush. he made me cringe during the debate how profoundly stupid he was for a presidential candidate, but he had that twinkle in his eye and said flip flopper in such a cute way that it worked like magic. nothing at all behind the curtain, but it sure worked hillary is going to be the first president in a while that wont be either aw shucks or have a catchy vapid campaign theme. of course she will be the first female to run at the top of the ticket which will help, but really i dont think that will be a deciding factor in her winning. shes simply too smart, too good, and too well recognized. we will finally have a high quality president right out of the chute. she will landslide any poor schmuck the republicans find to get mowed down by her. and for once it will be for a very good reason
