personally im not ready to close the books on brohm like chan said after the game, brohm knew what he was doing mentally but just wasnt used to the speed of live play. most of the time he was doing a good job of making reads and getting the ball to the right place, for example in the opening drive where he had them marching down the field before johnson started waving it around like a cheap handbag and fumbled. you could tell he was struggling to adapt to full gamespeed cuz he got hit like three of four times before completing his throwing motion - after which he admittedly appeared to lose some composure before being eventually replaced by brown sure, he might never make it in the league, but its normally a lot harder to make the reads (mental skills) than fix a throwing timing issue (physical skills) so theres a decent chance with more playing time he would have been better prepared for the timing my question to chan would be why the heck didnt you give brohm a couple searies in the two blowouts that fitz started? on two different occassions he had the chance to give brohm some gametime conditions work in a game that was way out of reach and chan declined. why in the world would you not try to get your backup in those games? whatever added value fitz and the rest of the team by getting extra reps together is paled by exactly what we saw happen - a backup who struggled with game timing because he never got any looks. i mean if youre not gonna get some playing time for your backup in blowouts like that, when the hell ARE you gonna get him some time? i like chan but i really think he blew that situation

hi. my name is mh. and i am a fitz and gailey lover thanks for the breakdown. it shows exactly what fitz is: a quality starter who is a terrific value. they should extend him now for about four mil a season and solidify the position for at least a half decade while they prepare somebody to try to take the job from him he should be able to fix the turnover rate simply by concentrating on reducing fumbles, and hes already clearly improved his td/int ratio well over his career average. im afraid he probably wont be able to get the compl% to where it would need to be to make him franchise material, but even where it is he remains a quality starter who is better than at least half the starting qbs in the league viva la fitz

once again, the kelsay deal was good for the bills they got an average starting nfl de for 2.5mil in 2010, 3.0m in 2011, and only a measely 2m signing bonus with no other guaranteed money they havent had him play lb AT ALL since about game six and hes been pretty decently effective in providing pressure and being around the ball to top it off, hes a great lockerroom presence and bills ambassador hes not a star but at his salary and attitude hes very valuable to this team right now. im not gonna let ignorant fan haters twist that into something its not. again

what a terrible who gives a flying frijole it would have been nice to see them look sharp all game, or part of the game, or more than a couple times but really, what does it matter. youve got deep scrubs playing a meaningless game with a half assed game plan cuz who gameplans for january preseason games frankly i took away a few positives - lost the game woo hoo! mission a1 accomplished - most of yall are waay overreacting on brohm. i agree with chan, he knew what he was doing except on the speed of the game. he got bumped while throwing what three times, i even said while watching hes not used to the timing of the live rush. not a great excuse but when he wasnt rushed like that he made some real nice reads, progressions, and throws. in the first series he was sharp until stevie decided his outfit looked better without that brown purse we was waving around. brohm has a way to go but he did some real good things, no idea if he will ever be starter ready but he got some of the critical elements down and should be able to improve on the game speed issue. so hes not done quite yet like yall are saying - stevie got embarrassed. again. last time he did that he changed the way he caught balls. now he will change the way he carries balls. hes not the sharpest donut in the tool deck you know, it takes pain for things to get through his skull. today was painful for him. good - so thats what a quality starting qb does for you. ohhhhhh - maybe just maybe that game will help the cocky jets feel even better about themselves that their undeserved sense of entitlement normally gives them and they will be overconfident and be crushed like stupid green ants ha that would be awesome (in chris farley voice) nah this game doesnt even have a tiny drop of effect on next season, assuming there is one. bills made a ton of strides this season, found some long term solutions at several spots (wr, ol, dt), will be turning over a bunch of the roster with free agents and draft picks, and have had an entire season to get the info they need to put their allegedly and resume supported strong talent evaluators to work getting those better pieces in here still sticking to my prediction that this team sneaks into the playoffs next season. and overall, today helped that objective. woo hoo!

the good news about the drop is that is has absolutely changed how stevie approaches each catch. watch him closely, he now keeps his eyes on the ball ALL THE WAY INTO HIS HANDS, even turning his head downward while he transitions from a catch to a cradle. he has obviously taken that huge mistake directly to heart and has been coached up to do it properly and probably will never forget that painful lesson see what you can learn when you listen to god
