Sometime around Father's day, the Dodger broadcasters commented that there were over 20 guys that were regulars batting under .200. This was extremely low historically. Between the shift and the reliever usage, batting averages were down this year. Fewer and fewer .300 hitters. Oh, also the fact that there are so many guys throwing in the upper 90's. I hope the Red Sox showed the rest of MLB that singles count. I am tired of the swing for the fences attitude.

The biggest myth on the Process/Rebuild
Greybeard replied to bostonadguy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they are happy, not many enjoy losing, even if they are paid big money. I still say this is the Process. Last year the Process got derailed by winning. When that happened, instead of getting their QB with their high pick, they had to trade away all their draft capital to draft one. That meant a lot less players. I was supposed to be one bad year, a slightly better year and then in the third year they would have the talent drafted and go big in the free agent market, which is also after they cleared all the cap room. It is just the plan didn't work out. They won more games than they should have last year and had things make them a lot less competitive this year than they thought they would be. It wasn't the plan to get blown out. Just loose close games. The big worry here is if they are capable of evaluating talent. Gruden is doing the exact same thing. Lucky for him, they will be in a different city when the push to win comes. A new city probably gives him an extra year. -

We'll have to see where Gruden is in two years. -

Gruden has a copy of the Bills front office document called "The Process." -
The Syracuse Post Standard Sunday edition had an entire section dedicated to SU Basketball this morning. I am sure you would enjoy it if you can find it. Not sure if it is online or not. Kind of surprised they listed the bench as 4 guards, 1 forward and 1 center. They had Hughes listed as a guard, but I think you are more accurate in showing him as a guard or a forward.

Has toilet paper gone the way of ice cream?

The timing of this post is pretty good as I have just seen a slick deals thread about TP. Some guy there is the guru of TP. Posted a large spreadsheet comparison. Here is the link. https://slickdeals.net/f/12167593-24-ct-charmin-mega-plus-toilet-paper-10-target-gift-card-30-more-free-store-pickup?src=SiteSearchV2Algo Always interesting in what others think is the best choice. Maybe this thread will take a turn in that direction. Somewhere in that thread, someone says Costco brand is wider. -
I know a guy who thought he had his cards read twice at Kennedy Airport, just walking around. I was going out of the country so he suggested I get small sleeves that hold your credit card that stop them from being read. I picked mine up at the AAA when I was getting an international driving permit. I also have one for my passport. Years ago I had a $4000 ticket to Hong Kong charged on my AmEx card. When I called them about the charge, they covered the entire loss but did not issue a new card, even though I asked for one. About 3 years later I was hit with the same thing. That time they sent me a new card. I don't believe in debit cards.

Brandon Beane deserves to be fired tomorrow
Greybeard replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is where they screwed up. They thought they could ride Peterman and the D from last year to close game loses. But with Peterman's int's that just doesn't work out. It is sad to say but every win they get this year, makes them less competitive in the future. They need a top three pick and multiple trade down to get enough players to compete. Last night, It was interesting to hear Thomas say the names of the linemen he had in front of him. Amazing what talent was there. I can't understand how we have gone through 20 years of organization without the organization realizing the game starts with linemen. Not a sexy choice but it is reality. -

Look who they traded away or chose not to sign. They virtually declared they would have no offense. They were suppose to have a top 3 pick last year but screwed it up. That forced them to spend all their draft capital for Allen. They probably preached the "Good Tank" to the Pegula's. Look competitive while losing close games. Keeps the fan base involved. Now they have to hope for a top 3 pick and a trade down to obtain as many starters as they possible can. Gruden has started to do the same thing. -

This IS the process. Watch Gruden follow suit. They weren't meant to make the playoffs last year. That threw everything off. -
Marlin Briscoe was the reason Shaw won ROY. As soon as Briscoe was gone, you saw the real Shaw.

He had the first perfect week of the year in the Pick'em contest. Maybe you get 1 or 2 of these a year. Note there are typically 100 slots open for Pick'em, of the 100 it appears at least 20 people have stopped playing. Come back, use the resource you signed up for.

Sim leagues for the 40's and 50's, tell me more. Just found out there is no emoji with ears or showing a hand trying to hear, so this sentence is a substitute.

I looked at the title and thought "what kind of drug are they talking about, a laxative?"
-
I'm not sure I follow you, but it seems you are saying it doesn't matter what the original theme was, if it could be interpreted about drugs later, then it is about drugs. Yes? No?
-
According to the authors, the words are exactly what they say they are with no attachment to drugs. It is simply a song about loss of innocence.
-
Actually this one is about not using drugs.

Considering we are talking politicians here, I think "bench" is not the appropriate word. It should be "bullpen."
