  1. ESPN thinks including one hockey play in the Top Ten Plays is enough coverage for hockey fans. Although surprisingly today they had two but since one of them was Crosby, I am not sure if that counts. espNBA.
  2. I guess that is one way to stop thinking about the next drink.?
  3. And in the 50's you just wore it like it is. Only mod might have been a rolled up sleeve.
  4. Just a guess, but I have a feeling the originals won't be making a comeback.
  5. It is always amazing how much more sense the lyrics make when you know things like this.
  6. I always thought if was referring to something else. Especially the line "when I put my finger on your trigger."
  7. Yes Shutterfly. In your case sung to the tune of Honey Pie.☺️
  8. So he gets the spot in a room. I don't see what that gains him. Trump can simply never call on him to ask a question. I am rather disappointed in Trump on this though. At the start of the conference, he could have simply stated, everyone will be allowed just ONE question. That is the rule. When someone tried the old two question over-ride, he could have stopped them and said. We have a procedure in place to allow the maximum number of reporters to get questions answered. Obviously you feel you are above the rest as you don't want to abide by the rules. This is exactly like having a procedure in place which allows immigration. Some follow the rules but others place themselves above those that follow the rules and believe they should be given preference. In fact, they are cheating those who follow the procedure from there lawful opportunity. I wonder how the MSM would react to something like that.
  9. You know that critic isn't all bad. It writers like him that forced them to put the pics back in.?
  10. They have apps or at least they have websites that allow you to download pics and get them printed. You can even get books and calendars printed. Check out Shutterfly. There are deals to be had if you go there. I never use them unless I get a deal. You can send pics to Walmart or take them on a memory stick and get them rather quickly depending on the time of day. There is no need for dark rooms with modern camera's or phones. It is funny you should ask this, as just last night my wife's sister asked her what she should do with her old 35mm cameras. I don't have a good answer.
  11. I remember an interview from the 60's? with John Sebastian. He said it was always a kick to hear how what they recorded came through on AM radio. I believe he was implying it was better. I was a fan of the Spoonful in the 60's and I remember one album I bought where the added clarity and stereo made it a less enjoyable listen. I am guessing that in some cases the producer mixed for an AM sound. For sure there were some very unusual mixes back then. There were some songs what would start off with all the vocals in one channel with dead silence in the other, that with headphones on, kind of threw your balance off. I can't imagine anything less natural.
  12. Rex is in the perfect spot for him. He comments on everyone else's performance with no performance from him for comparison. And this is especially good because it is all hindsight. It doesn't take any planning in advance to work out a solution, just comment about others. The main problem with all these sports reporters is there is no accountability. Anyone can comment on performance because it is after the fact. There are a couple of posters here that would make better sports reporters than the ones TV is pushing on us. And I believe Rex knows this is the perfect spot for him. In this position he never has to worry about failing again. Although in his case I am not sure he worried much as a Bills coach.
  13. My son has the 701's. They sound really good but they are too expensive for my tastes. Sadly as you get older and your hearing starts going I have to wonder if they are really worth it. I did had the same issue as row+33 with the AKG. After an hour or two they hurt my ears, so the time I could wear them was always limited. I am not keen on open headphones. All of the Sennheiser's I have are closed except for one. I also don't like earbuds, although my son says he has a pair that sound great and are wireless. I prefer wired devices because I think the sound is better but I have never done a comparison with bluetooth devices. I am really liking this WA. I have the urge for more Lennon, so I think I will try the Plastic Ono band album you mentioned above.
  14. My son has AKG's. Not sure which model. I had them for a week and they are impressive. Late last night I ran through some of CD's 3 to 6. I really like Dear Prudence in every version they had. I really like the sound of the guitars. I have also always enjoyed the piano in Lady Madonna, The instrumental version on CD6 is sounds even better. I can see this ignited a Beatles experience for the next few weeks. Have to go back and review all of the other albums.
  15. I guess listening practices could be a new thread but for the Beatles collection, I will stay here. I listened to the first two cd's after the Bills game. They sounded very good. I have a Yamaha audio/visual amp feeding my son's Polk LSi25's. They sound pretty good. My wife went to my daughter's so I could just crank the volume up, which helps a lot these days. Dear Prudence and Long, Long Long were the stand outs for the first listen. Later this week I will use headphones. When I do that I run through my laptop to a Dragonfly USB amp and then use Sony 7506's. I used to be big on Sennheiser's but I prefer the Sony's at the moment. I have 5 or 6 different pairs of Sennheiser's. So what do you use for headphones and amps? I ask the same of Rico. Does the surround sound add to the listening when using headphones? And TIL that Helter Skelter is what they call a slide that wraps around as it goes down. Funny that makes the song more enjoyable. Don't know why it wasn't obvious before.
  16. So when is the last time you listened to the original White Album? How do you listen, speakers or headphones? I ask because I listened to a couple of the remastered White Album songs and while they sounded good, it was through my son's speakers, which I am not really that familiar with. I do most of my listening with headphones. If I wanted to do a comparison I would have to listen to the original a couple of times with headphones before listening to the new release. It has been at least 20 years since I have listened to the original White Album. I ask the same of anyone else who has the new release.
  17. Bert Jones against Fergy was always the highlight of Colts vs Bills games. The fact that fans would hold his looking down against him never made sense to me but even back then, haters had to hate.
  18. Thanks for the link. That was the most comprehensive documentary I have ever seen on the subject.
  19. That'll be in two more years, just after the 2020 election.
  20. Out of curiosity, was it a divided highway or a 4 lane highway with just a Yellow strip running down the middle of the road?
  21. When they offered him the job, they told Gregg that they had access to a very good staff. Gregg immediately said " I guess you don't know but my staff was way better."
  22. Wait a minute. Your left lane is the right lane. So you have both bases covered. or in your case, whatever they call the turning points in Cricket.
  23. It is not an excuse. Expecting someone to perform the same as he is in a good situation is not the same as he would in a bad situation. It is the expectation I am commenting on, not the direction the team has taken. The rules greatly favor the offense at the moment.
  24. Good post. If Mahomes was drafted here, the odds of Mahomes having any where near the success he is having with the Chiefs, is very slim. Very few seem to be able to comprehend that. The search for a savior is how we ended up with Allen, and we are a long way from finding out how that will work out.
