Not really you can’t take a odd game and say see you need a 2 down run stuffer. This isn’t 1990. He’ll be taken out of most of the games with high passing attacks. So the Bills faced how many running teams last year. The Colts, Steelers, and Titans, throw the Pats in twice. So a schedule last year of 5 of 17 teams= 30% of the schedule he would have been of good value in as a 2 down player with no pass rush skills. It’s not worth a first rounder. The only way it makes sense is if he develops into Vita Vea which I don’t see. I think it’s more likely he eats his way out of the NFL than he does becoming a dominant pass rusher

How much $ is Trubusky going to sign for in FA?
gonzo1105 replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think 8-10 million is about right for a bridge QB. If it’s the Steelers you sign Trubisky , draft a QB and develop while Trubisky gets a year or whatever -
Bills' traits players in later draft rounds - Troy Andersen
gonzo1105 replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall
Troy Anderson ran a 4.41 40 impressive athlete. Another small school guy that fits the MO is OT Matt Waletzko from North Dakota. His RAS score was 9.9 almost perfect. -
So then your not drafting him at 25. You don’t take a 2 down player in the first round, no matter how good those two downs are in a passing league
-
there are other guys but yes the depth of WR is way deeper than CB. I would rather get a CB in Free Agency and the perfect fit is Donte Jackson from Carolina but he’ll be expensive
-
Just goes to show you how the team around him had let him down. With those stats we should have been in a SB by now
-
He’s not that great. He takes a while to get his punts off. Yes they go far but none have hangtime. Half the time, the returnees don’t even catch it and it rolls. When they did get returned they were for large gains because he’s out kicking his coverage. He’s going to get drafted higher than he should. The PSU and Georgia kid can be had in 5-7 and are just as good
-
He’s not as good as people make him out to be. Stout from Penn State and the Georgia punter are also great options and won’t take a 3rd rounder to get him

A nice prospect to groom if Feliciano gets the boot.
gonzo1105 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
There ain’t no grooming Penning as a replacement for Feliciano. Dudes a legit top 20 pick and immediate replacement to somebody on that line. Might force Dawkins inside, and with his salary 10 million that is very very possible. Dawkins even hinted at being replaced last year after he saw Brown and Doyle -

he wasn’t very good with the weight either -

Guys just don’t get quicker at reading things. Those are the types of things you have or you don’t have. If he was in his 2nd year and he was flying around making the right read quickly and just missing the tackle or the pass I could say he has a great chance of getting better. He lacks that. He’ll never and yes I mean never be an elite LB despite how young he still is. People always say well that’s not his job in this defenses. His job is to take away the middle of the field and disrupt the pass game. We’ll lowest amount of PDs this year and 1 INT where a backup QB drilled it in his chest. They need to find his replacement. -
Rams - opening game of season Bills / Cowboys most likely
gonzo1105 replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
There has been a shift to spread out marquee games over the course of the season to retain ratings etc. fans are jacked up in week 1 and it doesn’t matter who their playing they’ll watch. -
I said at the time when everyone was talking about losing Levi and Harry etc that Siran Neal would be a guy who got a bigger contract than everyone thinks. He’s a great STs player, can play CB, Slot, can do Nickel LB. That versatility is valued in the NFL. Plus they have to protect themselves at CB

150 draft prospects threaten to boycott Combine
gonzo1105 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Senior bowl is a good measuring stick for G5 guys to measure up against big school guys. Pro days show their speed etc. it really comes down to the NFL gets a ton of money and eyeballs on the NFL in the off-season and doesn’t want that apple cart ruined -

The interviews and medicals are the most important thing in my opinion. These guys have so much tape on these guys. Just let them do their pro days and use the combine for medicals and interviews. The problem again is the NFL has made it into a huge money maker over a week-long event in the offseason and wants to capitalize on the monetary gains. Here's an idea pay the prospects for their time. They are technically professionals now interviewing for a job. It's a compromise that might work. -
Dion Dawkins has been better than an average LT in the league. If they are replacing anyone on the line it’s at RT or interior. To me he’s the one guy for sure locked in at his position
-
Ah, where to begin. Gardner ain’t dropping to 25, and Travis Jones won’t be available at the end of the 3rd round. He might not even be there at the 2nd rounder.

Well all we do is pass pass pass so it shouldn't be that difficult. -
STH Invoices are posted. 15% increase is a lot.

The Tickets are below average for the NFL in general and guess what they'll be below average when they build a new stadium(albeit much more expensive below average). Their trying to cash in on a great team and saving up that money for that stadium haha. Spend the money, you spend a lot of money on a lot less enjoyable things in life. I get that season tickets are not a necessity in life compared to other things but paying bills probably doesn't bring joy to you. Plus I'm assuming season ticket holders will get first crack and new stadium seats. I think its a bad time to give up your seasons if you want tickets into the new stadium. -
I always love these rankings. Christian Watson is going in round 2 or 3

I’d say this SB was less interesting because there was no evil villain to be slayed imo

Go back and watch the 1992 AFC title game in Miami. The Dolphins won the division had home field and the Bills and Kelly in particular were incredibly sloppy. Lost the SB in 84, lost the AFC title game in 85, 90 Divisional round, 92 AFC title game, 94 they lost to the damn Chargers with Stan Humphries are you kidding,95 to the Bills , 97 to the Patriots, 98 to the Broncos. There is a lot of playoff failure there.
-
I mean if your going to dog on Rodgers you have to dog on Marino for his playoff failures

All guys at one point were the best in the game I would say out of that list obviously Boselli and Leroy Butler were most deserving. The weakest guy to me is probably Sam Mills or Seymour and those guys obviously had really good careers. I think what it lacks is a skill player superstar. Nothing sexy about grinders
