  1. Mario even admitted as much during his press conference. I was worried the Texans would be petty and file charges but thankfully, no.
  2. If his backpedal on the field matched his stories, he'd be an all-pro still in the league. /drops mic
  3. I think also you have to give credit to Joe D as an oline coach piecing these guys together and having them play as a unit - because they truly were more than the naked eye sum of their parts!
  4. He plays Sam well and Right DE. That sells me right there.
  5. You gotta look at the history of the team too - Bengals have rarely traded up (Ki-jana Carter was it AFAIK).
  6. Doesn't really matter. If you keep the 3-4 you can put Williams at 1 or 3 tech with Dareus at the other and a true 3-4 DE at 5 tech opposite site. It's exactly like a 4-3 over front and you still have the linebackers behind it to flow to the ball. All this strict 4-3 or 3-4 isn't helpful, as 4-3 (2-4-5 in particular) are used by 3-4 defenses in Nickel, where you have 2 true down linemen (Williams and Dareus), 4 linebackers (take your pick) and the starting secondary + a Nickelback (either Scott or Corner or Rogers)
  7. The 3-4 won't be a problem next year with the line, they need OLBs. And that can be remedied in FA and the draft.
  8. If you look at a guy like Stevie, credited with 3 drops on the year and compare him to Roddy White, who has 13, the biggest difference is the surrounding cast. Stevie has been blessed and cursed with being the most talented receiver on the team and because of that, in true Bills fan fashion he is only hated or loved. Never mind every receiver in the NFL has dropped a game winner, or said something stupid, he is the poster child because he's a Bill. A Bill who, if he left will be leaving with team records no other receiver has (back to back 1,000 yard seasons) and very few do (Back to back 70+ catch seasons, matched only by Reed and Moulds).
  9. I think they are heading in the right direction, but they need to build on this season with more players stacked on players and some playmakers at OLB.
  10. Stats for the receivers in the article along with their targets, catches and drops.... Courtesy Stats LLC - If Curious Name Targets Catches Drops Salary Lee Evans 25 4 1 8.25 Larry Fitzgerald 136 71 2 16.1 Miles Austin 68 41 2 9 Sidney Rice 57 32 2 8.2 Reggie Wayne 121 67 2 6.5 Andre Johnson 149 31 3 9.3 Greg Jennings 99 67 3 9.1 Stevie Johnson 127 72 3 0.5 Santonio Holmes 100 51 4 9 Megatron 141 85 5 12.6 Vince Jackson 110 58 5 11.2 DHB 96 55 5 7.7 Steve Smith 122 73 7 11 Anquan Boldin 106 57 7 8.3 Brandon Marshall 132 76 12 11.2 Roddy White 171 96 13 8.5
  11. Funny thing about Stevie...I read about how many drops he has and how he's a detriment to the team. And so I looked it up: Drops by receivers Couldn't find it there. So I looked up his page: Stevie's Stats 3 drops. Officially. Coupled with being one of three receivers in team history and post back to back 70+ catch seasons, I don't see the hate...
  12. He's kinda an upgrade over Kelsay, not a replacement for Merriman if that makes sense. He's a big, heavy handed OLB/DE that can play hand up or hand down and get you 6-8 sacks. He's not going to be a 10+ sack guy. I think they should take a page out of the 2007 Steelers and get two OLBs back to back - someone like him in 1 and then a Jenkins or Curry in round 2...
  13. Great comment in the wawrow thread!

  14. Personally, I want the Pats* to win for that very reason. Allow people to think they're the class of the AFCE and have defeated the loudmouthed Jets. Then the Jets will be in their bi-monthly shame-spiral prior to our re-match. Win, win.
  15. He's the next guy to run out of town. Then it'll be Spiller. Then it'll be Merriman. (maybe switch em). Then Barnett is too old...always someone.
  16. I think Fitz was still hurting and they didn't want him getting body-rocked in that scuffle...
  17. And for all the huffing and puffing about the Bills pass rush vs the Jets illustrious pass rush, they only have 4 more sacks than we do.
  18. They look to be in the other pics, but the new unis are more "form fitting" and thus easier to see.
  19. And to dovetail with the comment about Fitz and being unselfish I think because of him and Chan it goes from the top down. Stevie isn't complaining about TDs, CJ isn't complaining about PT, in fact, he's blocking as well as Donald was prior to being injured. Leodis didn't say a word when he was "demoted" to CB. These guys get it. Andy doesn't say a word about being moved to LT, and mauls people during the game. I love this TEAM!
  20. One note to add to Dareus' feat - he's weighing in at 343 right now...which is crazy!
  21. It's a sunk cost. Where else can we sign a pass rusher for 3.5 million dollar one year tryout?
  22. One Note: There is only one QB in the NFL that actually goes against this line of thinking right now and that's Big Ben. He actually excels (and has since he was a rookie) at escaping to his left and throwing on the run. Mainly because his arm is that strong on its own and his receivers being well versed in the Big Ben scramble drill...
  23. If you have Twitter (or don't and just want a heads up) if you Follow Chris Steuber, he'll post where each of the teams send their scouts as soon as he knows about it. Best way to keep track. Chris Steuber on Twitter
  24. As one poster put it, "The Woodshed" is taking it to D-lines every week!
  25. To be fair to the spirit of the original post, the offense didn't make changes, the defense may have!
