  1. So, in Nazi Germany, the law was that Jews and various others like gypsies and homosexuals were subhuman and it was alright to imprison and ultimately exterminate them. Was that okay? If not, why not? The rationale of legal positivism is that what is right is defined simply by what the law says. If you disagree, what criteria founds the basis of disagreement?
  2. You seem to have an agenda -- it's almost as if you created an account to spew this stuff.
  3. Reasonable and decent response. Be nice if that were the norm.
  4. Alright clever fellow -- the initial post is recognized by those who are enjoying it to be a frivolous display. No one really needs to be told that there's a difference between a real game and this kind of ad hoc practice. The umbrage of those who feel the need the explain to all those engaged in "undilutated irrational praise" that nothing really demonstrative is happening here is more akin to Puritan sanctimony before folks trying to enjoy a little festivity on a nice summer day, especially given the fact that most of us are cooped up for extended periods in our houses. So, it's harmless vicarious happiness. But do carry on, it's enchanting.
  5. Fake Latin names are neologisms that play a role in the joke you are missing in the same manner you missed the point of the thread.
  6. And Doususenthusiasmus DImus, who announces himself by claiming not to be himself right below a response explaining the nature of the thread.
  7. Ah, the annoying Formicidae Dismalus, always ready to pronounce gloomy skepticism at the Sunday picnic. And the ever present, Diptera Missingthepointus.
  8. Well, CNN is conveniently based in Atlanta -- and a mob isn't particularly known for rational acts. Nonetheless, deliciously ironic that the dim propagandists who work for that network and have incited and amplified rage and validated the rioters as righteous protestors should get a taste of the brew they have materially contributed to.
  9. Lot of likeable fellas on this team, but Josh Allen is my favorite.
  10. Still trying to figure out which cup has the orange under it.
  11. It was that 89 fella. Seemed to me he knew something at one time, though now that you mention it, I may be confusing him with 39. I agree on Eichel. My impression of Botts which could be utterly wrong is that he is a decent, industrious fella, but I don't sense creativity. You need some to be a good tactician. I also think he is seen by other GMs as someone you can take advantage of -- that ROR deal did him and the team no favors. Anyway, since he's getting one last shot, I hope for all our sakes he is successful.
  12. Fella who posts at Sabres Hockeybuzz says Eichel wants out and it will become more clear soon. He's had inside information before, so I don't think it can be dismissed out-of-hand. In general, hard to see much to fend off despair with this team. To balance it out, there is talent on the team. A competent GM would make 3 - 4 shrewd moves and you could see a playoff team. Just not confident we have that GM.
  13. Post-war trauma and despondency are in themselves terrible ordeals with manifold destructive consequences. None of that precludes honoring those who served or the belief that their service was worthwhile. Telling folks to shut up if they haven't experienced those specific horrors is pretty much the opposite of the kind of freedom of thought and speech this country was founded to promote.
  14. Knox becoming a more reliable receiver would also dramatically affect Josh Allen. As Ron Jaworski likes to say "qb is a dependent position." Without superior play at TE, Lamar Jackson doesn't become MVP. I am also enthused about Moss. Now we only need the season to actually happen.
  15. You and the Chiefs' fan can cogitate on that interesting question. The only thing that matters is how Allen develops.
  16. I think they expect him to be good. This notion that they are uncertain is projecting by a certain sector who have always been skeptical for the most part. I think the locker room is convinced. Doesn't mean they couldn't be wrong, but they didn't invest in Diggs to get clarity.
  17. I think you have to take into account that generally McDermott/Daboll call a conservative game. If we got a lead, they'd turtle and count on the D. We'll see what happens this year. Hopefully there is a season so we can find out.
  18. Option 1 -- just because it's what your heart wants doesn't make it irrational. So far, only poster I value who has voted #3 is Logic. Don't add to that list. I should clarify the rest of you fellas who are wrong are okay, but it didn't hurt me to see your names there.
  19. If he hits the long ball, all those folks voting against top ten qb are in lost the bet category.
  20. I concur given the specific circumstances, but it was generally a trend overall.
  21. No excuse for that kind of game plan anymore. Josh in his third year, o-line has a year to gain familiarity, Diggs trade, Knox second year, Moss to replace old man Gore. Training wheels off. Get and build leads.
  22. You've just become TwistofFate's new best friend.
  23. If I read that fella correctly, technically he thinks he is mediocre.
