  1. Lol, it's also a city in Australia. That's a continent in South America.
  2. Atlanta is a city of transplants and UGA fans. Nobody is buying a billboard.
  3. TwistofFate = NeverLetContextGetintheWayofanAgenda
  4. I see things as you do, but what a polarizing figure Allen continues to be. Reading the posts in this thread is a schizophrenic range of interpretation.
  5. Getting rid of the reckless without muting the necessary swagger and edge is a complicated pedagogy. You can't really argue with a 10 - 5 season and evident progress (though to the usual suspects, it isn't evident, alas). Regardless, I do think Allen would progress even more if there were less "prevent mode offense" (nice term.) Adding playmakers will certainly help and I expect that to be a significant focus of the draft and free agency.
  6. Among other things, this view appears to ignore the unique aspects of a person that do not easily quantify as stats. Is Allen's leadership and charisma, the combination of intense competiveness, humility, hard work and affability simply immaterial to what contributes to team culture and winning? Does one simply assume that Mayfield and Darnold, quite different personalities, transition and achieve to the same degree? One can speculatively surmise that they would be effective, even if somewhat differently, but ten Buffalo wins, the first double-digit season victory total this millenium, is a reality, not a speculation. I credit Allen for carrying a still fairly pedestrian offense with an OC who is inconsistent and often puzzling in his playcalling.
  7. Very interesting point. I've wondered about it and this is a cogent argument.
  8. Careful. This is all a veiled personal attack. One must properly indulge the rules of snowflake dialogue. After all, he comes on here to offer unique, objective analysis and being challenged on a claim is only fair if you are challenging claims he disagrees with.
  9. Looked at thread title, thought, Danish prince visited by ghost of murdered father.
  10. Context is going to elude this sharp one, but you are right, of course.
  11. Arrogant and dim is not a good look for you . . . unless you're a garden variety troll, in which case you are a good exemplar of the species.
  12. There, ladies and gents, is your typical deeply informed Democratic voter.
  13. It's perfectly reasonable for folks to project out a few years and to conclude that Jackson will not maintain his play level and also that Allen has a high ceiling with a more sustainable mode of play. It might not work out that way, but its not a ridiculous position to take. You're going way out of your way to be obnoxious and to mischaracterize what most on this board say and think. And really, is it just incredible that fans of a particular team who are invested in the development of a young player who is charismatic, likeable, a leader with swagger, yet humble, hard-working, an underdog who has already overcome large odds and often lazy media bias, someone who has embraced the city and who fits in exceedingly well with the ethos and culture of the team would be unwilling to swiftly entertain changing out the somewhat unexpected present success and quite plausible future excellence for the bright shiny flavor of the moment because some fella with a crusading axe to grind insists the qb they have come to care about as emblematic of the new Bills is, in fact, a bottom-tier NFL qb? It's really unnatural to go hypothetically shopping for other qbs. You're like the fella with a nice, good-looking girl who is always glancing around for a hotter alternative. That's the way a heel acts. Bills' fans like Josh Allen and have good reason to think he can become a genuine franchise qb. They want to enjoy the moment, not spoiling the joy of the season with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge, how about that qb? What if we had a real qb?
  14. I don't know, of course, but I doubt he's not seeing the field. His instinct is always to go for the bigger gain.
  15. Supposedly it's a very deep year for wr, so the double-dip idea is sound. I am still inclined to spend some draft capital to move up if Beane determines there is a stud wr within reach, but unlikely to fall to them. We particularly need a big, fast wr who can track the long ball, but an overall increase in playmaking talent at offensive skill positions would make this team very dangerous and facilitate Allen making another leap forward. Of course, we also have other needs including Edge rusher, lb, possibly cb, rt (imo) as Ford still looks to me a more natural guard -- though maybe not, apparently he's been a lot better recently, so what do I know? Free agency will alter the needs list, so what the top priorities are will likely change somewhat.
  16. I really hope they consider trading up a bit. Jeudy and Lamb will likely cost too much, but I'd prefer all those fellas projected to go in the teens.
  17. I think its often the predictable playcalling thing. You can see it coming and its exasperating. But then he pulls off a good sequence or tries a trick play. The fella is inconsistent.
  18. Well, I am on the Bandit, Cincy side of the argument. I think Allen is held back by a combination of lack of playmakers (which is not to dismiss Brown and Beasely, they raise the talent to competent) and also a conservative tendency that is the opposite of fearless. Given the strength of the defense and where Allen is at in the learning curve, that may make tactical sense, but I still believe they should unleash Allen and let him play.
  19. He's already taken a big step and he's likely to develop much more. He's demonstrated he has the character and work ethic to improve. He is not a bottom tier NFL qb. You have always been a fella who can't see holistically. You're too obsessed with stats. The clutch gene and leadership don't show up in stats. Allen's numbers would be better with greater playmaking talent on the team, a big wr who could track the long ball, etc., but as is, Allen is a fit for what this team is trying to do. But you do you.
  20. Collinsworth was talking about how the Steelers might be positioned to go on a playoff run to the Super Bowl -- next play was Tre's first INT.
