  1. The Whaley haters don't care.
  2. An athlete's career, if he's lucky, is the lifespan of a dog. I don't blame them for maximizing their earning potential, but I allow myself the irrational anger when it means they don't sign with the red, white, and blue.
  3. The last variation is the most likely. Ragland is definitely going to be the MIKE, even if Zach Brown is signed.
  4. I'd be really surprised if Lattimore is available at #10.
  5. Dbs and a lb, the worst. Have fun with that.
  6. I think he's quite good, too. At the price the Pats* paid, that's a lot of dough. Especially if McDermott's zone scheme doesn't require fellas on an island, so to speak. I just hope OBD doesn't feel compelled to take cb at #10 now.
  7. He's a class fella. I will be rooting for him to play well.
  8. I do think o-line has been neglected, but right now outside of RT, we are pretty good. DL isn't bad either, though Kyle is long in the tooth.
  9. Frustration is recycling cb when it isn't the way to build a winning team. A rookie contract is a lot cheaper than 65 million for five years; like nobody gets that? Everybody gets that. Would Lattimore be an improvement on Gilmore? Probably. Will it set the team up for short term or long term success? Not really. As Fridge pointed out, we have tried this so many times, it's remarkable folks are still on-board with it. The Taylor contract is a bridge qb contract. A bridge only makes sense if you have a developmental qb on your team. You don't sign a bridge qb to draft a qb at the end of the contract unless you have a day one starter in the draft. Unlikely Bills are going to get Darnold, folks. Then what? Draft Mahomes and develop him. You can get a good db later in the draft.
  10. Want: Mahomes or Watson Don't want: Any cb other than Lattimore Dark horse: John Ross Think: a cb besides Lattimore
  11. You're not correctly following his train of thought. He traded down in the second to get a late third or fourth. If you draft them, they will come.
  12. He's a great talker. It's a perfect job for Rex. Don't know how much he'll like all the adulation for the Pats* though.
  13. I concur. No bueno.
  14. You can put the back-up qb in and do the victory formation on this dialogue.
  15. I understand why OBD let him walk. I'll be less understanding if they spend the #10 pick on cb.
  16. I usually don't quote longish comments, especially when it is two posts above. This deserves the repeat. I hope, without much confidence, they are open to a qb early this year.
  17. Thanks for this. Folks go off without knowing any details.
  18. Yep, but you know what they will probably do? Take a cb to replace the first round cb they just let go. LOL. Don't like your politics, but that's spot on funny.
  19. Hard to disagree with this assessment. The cb cycle thing has been tried enough to be proven the wrong strategy.
  20. Nice post. I hope Taylor makes a leap forward as his advocates anticipate. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens.
  21. Well, that would be a nice signing if it happens. I'm going to remain skeptical for now.
  22. It is possible I have simply inferred that folks realize development is a risky and necessary stage. Oh well.
  23. I really don't think anyone believes drafting a qb in the first round is a quick fix. Almost any drafted qb will need development and the kind of infrastructure you allude to. I have some hope for Cardale Jones, but I would still like to grab a qb early, though our needs at wr and cb may preclude that.
  24. I honestly have (perhaps unfounded) optimism that Watkins will be healthy. That kind of injury often needs a second surgery, but the foot is usually stable afterwards. Davis or Williams plus Watkins turns wr from a question mark to a relative strength, especially if we get decent #3 production from one of the new fellas. Of course, qb may still be an issue. Yeah, sorry. My real life is pretty stressful right now.
