  1. Even if it does not matter immediately, how can increased, and new and different viewers NOT effect profits down the road? Do you think that the cameras are showing TS and Kelce with the band aid for no reason, or to turn a profit? I hope that you don't sense any hostility in my responses. It's an interesting topic imo and we can certainly agree to disagree afaic.
  2. You showed me how, how to leave myself behind How to turn down the noise in my mind Now I haven't got time for the pain I haven't got room for the pain I haven't the need for the pain Not since I've known you
  3. I said nothing about liberals and/or conservatives. I'm talking about big companies making tons of money. Long ago if any sporting event was "fixed" it would be done by the mob which barely exists today. The government took over their rackets in a sense.
  4. The NFL doesn't control the country. Pfizer and other huge businesses do. And Taylor Swift was famous and insanely popular well before Halloween. By then she was probably already worth 750 million. Once again, I have never heard even one of her songs, but I almost get the feeling that you might not understand how big she is. Her popularity is in the Beatles/Elvis range from what I gather.
  5. I don't dispute any of the above. I will however add that Taylor Swift will attract a different audience imo. I think that teenage and early twenties girls will watch this game just to catch a glimpse of their idol and advertisers will pay more and take advantage of this. Between her plus Kelce pimping for Pfizer, there really are untold millions to be made and I'm positive that the advertisers and the NFL are cheering. Now, does this mean that the fixes were in? No it does not, but it can easily give one reason to raise an eyebrow. Of course, jmo.
  6. I am just so sorry. May God bless you and your loved ones.
  7. I am not ready to call the NFL completely fixed, but to eliminate the possibility of some fixed games is quite shortsighted imo. Bills/Lions IS a nice storyline.....if you are a Bills or Lions Fan. Taylor Swift (and I never heard one of her songs mind you) is probably as or more popular than the Beatles were. One of my daughters is flying to Scotland to see her. Only she and her husband are going but she had to buy 4 tickets. She is getting offered more for the other 2 than she paid for all 4. Then, you have Kelce pimping for Pfizer. I can only imagine what they are paying him. Do you think that Pfizer wanted the Bills/Lions SB for the storyline, or would they rather sell there vaccines to everyone, especially the millions of new arrivals? Look, I have no way of knowing that any game is fixed but seriously, it is quite possible that it sometimes does happen.
  8. Very good synopsis. I however fall between those cracks. I am "bummed out" because there will be no coaching change and am pretty sure McDermott is unable to get us to the top. He was given too much power from day one and needs to go. Of course, jmo.
  9. I would even welcome Ridley if the Jags let him walk.
  10. 13 seconds was worse for me because it was monumental. Even non Bills Fans will look back at that debacle and be amazed at how a team could give away a game in that manner. To this day it is hard to understand. I suppose that to get the answer I would have to ask McDermott.
  11. Look, perhaps I'm a hypocrite. If it involved my daughter and a male teacher I would be happy to see him get the death penalty. Now, what this woman did was abusive and wrong no doubt. That said, life in prison for sleeping with a high school senior????? That is freaking excessive. Criminals with police records are shooting other people and can get sentenced to a year or two, if that. In NYC, career criminals are getting treatment for being "mentally ill" in lieu of prison, this for stabbing random strangers and/or pushing them onto the subway tracks. When I was a HS senior, I would have rather had sex with a teacher than been shoved in front of an oncoming subway train, but that's just me lol. Leslie Von Houten was just released from prison. Life for this nutty teacher? No way!
  12. It is extremely hard to get. I remember a case of an 85 year old man in a rather wealthy neighborhood. His wife died and he lived alone. He started having all night parties with prostitutes, drug users, and probably drug sellers. His kids took him to court and the judge refused to have him committed. He told the judge that his kids just wanted his money. The neighbors (one of which was his goddaughter) were furious. I left before the case was (if ever) resolved. He sounds as if he is in dire need of therapy, hospitalization, medication, or any combination of the three. I explained in a post above that involuntary hospitalization is extremely difficult to obtain. I wish good luck to all involved.
  13. Clean this mess up else we'll all end up in jail Those test tubes and the scale Just get it all out of here Is there gas in the car? Yes, there's gas in the car I think the people down the hall know who you are 'Cause the man is wise You are still an outlaw in their eyes Get along, get along, Kid Charlemagne Get along Kid Charlemagne
  14. Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide Girl, Eli's a-comin', you better hide Girl, Eli's comin', hide your heart, girl (Hide it)
  15. Agree 100%. Hutchinson, Williams, St. Brown, and Sewell are excellent players imo. Goff certainly has enough weapons and a very good OL.
  16. Dressed myself in green I went down to the sea Try to see what's going down Maybe read between the lines Had a feeling I was falling, falling, falling Turned around to see Heard a voice calling, calling, calling You was comin after me Back to me
  17. My friend I am just so sorry. I pray that God rests her soul and provides comfort to you and all of your loved ones.
  18. Don't go chasin' waterfalls Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all But I think you're moving too fast
  19. Thanks. I really mean this. What would a playoff Sunday be without an extra shot of depression?
  20. Actually that is a great question! I am unable to watch every college team and focus primarily on the SEC, Alabama specifically. I was extremely high on Brian Branch for years. I saw him play every phase of the position (S) and he was very good at it to include run stopping, pass defending. interceptions, and even blitzing. He is also said to be very smart. With the Bills picking at 28 I would have been OK with taking him late in round 2, and perfectly fine with taking him in the 3rd. Check him out in the playoffs today! Are there other safeties as good as or better than Branch? I'm sure there are, BUT; I would NOT place as high a priority on them as I would a WR or OL. My thing is that the best corner or safety in the world can only cover an NFL receiver for so long. Eventually, the WR will get open no matter who is covering them. Josh Allen is one of, if not THE most talented QBs that I have ever watched. He is a bigger John Elway. If he had receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle (and good protection) he would probably win the next 5 Superbowls . He might even do something similar with the Eagles wideouts. The focus needs to be on maximizing what Josh can do, not the freaking secondary. Levy cost us dearly by not replacing Kelly, Smith, Thurman and Reed when they were getting old. Instead, he focused on the secondary for many years and the decline began. His 2006 draft as GM set this team back for MANY years and I said that it would right here on this board. In any event if I thought that a particular safety was a spectacular player, I would be reluctantly OK with a late 2nd round pick and fine with a 3rd. Sorry to ramble but you asked LOL.
  21. May God bless her and grant her a complete and speedy recovery.
  22. I absolve Beane from much of the blame for some of the personnel decisions. For instance, do you think that it was Beane's idea to trade up for Tre Edwards or Kaiir Elam? Or even to draft Ed Oliver at #9? These picks have McDermott written all over them imo, especially given the fact that he gave away Mahomes. Btw I am just as happy with Josh but that is not my point. We lucked into Josh after McDermott made that rather stupid move.. We will find out soon enough who is in charge. Any GM in his right mind would want our 2024 draft to focus on wide receivers for Josh and to reinforce the OL which is aging at (at least at center). Doing this makes sense from a football and an economic point of view. Better receivers and a healthier Josh will draw a lot more fans than a safety, as well as win more games. If we draft a safety in round 1 (which I sadly expect) or even a corner, do you think that this will come from Beane? I just can't visualize this but as always, jmo.
